XBox 360 isn't that good...

Money Restraints + Love of FF + FF on only 1 system = Ppl buying that system

People don't need anything other than PS3 :D

First off, shame on you. FF series belongs on Sony systems and Sony systems alone. Secondly, 360 comes out sometime this year, PS3 is slated for sometime next Feb.-Mar.

Which is better? Obviously it's the PS3 running on 1.8 TFLOPS, 7 processors, and a plethora of other gaming nirvana including blue tooth technology. Besides the obvious hardware advantages to owning a PS3, also note that a number of popular gaming companies are straying away from Microsoft and the XBox. RPGs and Action/Adventure games holding the top sales almost every month are also a good reason to hold off on that 360 for the PS3. XBox has little to no intentions to focus on those genres of video games, making far more exclusive deals focusing on companies selling sports games.

I just decided to post this because I have a severe distast for anything Microsoft. Not only are they more profit based than consumer based, but they allow dirty tricks, such as allowing Halo 3 to premier on PS3 launch date, to continue. Am I the only one who fears my XBox will someday grow it's own AI and destroy all Sony products in my household?

Oh, btw, PC still pwns both systems.
i have told all my friends the same thing, dont worry i totally agree with everything you said except the part about Xbox growing its own AI, that seems a little farfetched. >.> <.<

Why would Nintendo release it's biggest and best title on other platforms when they want you to buy their system? Link moves systems as illustrated so well by the fact that Soul Calibur sold better on GC than on any other system.

I love Nintendo as a game publisher and I can only get their games on Nintendo systems making me somewhat more loyal to them. I also have never been let down by a Nintendo system....I love the GC controller, I love the graphics, I love how fast everything loads, I love how small it is and I love it in Platinum. I used to be 100% pro-sony and Nintendo until my Playstation Crapped out eventhough I treated it like gold, combine that with the fact my PS2 likes to freeze >.<. Games come first of course but having a good system capable of playing the games that you love is a big thing too. Sony has great games and 3rd party support (I also love their in house development team who brought me ICO and Wild ARMs) but I just have no faith in their systems longevity. Xbox isn't really a bad system but It's big, I hate the controller and it has absolutely nothing I want to play on it. It's a very american system and I prefer my kooky japanese games over FPS and Racers. I didn't even really enjoy Fable (allthough the soundtrack rocked).

So yes Games do come first but consoles are almost equally important especially when you have to chose one or the other, or you end up spending close to $1,200 every 4-5 years upgrading :x Consoles are like cars, sure they all drive but you want one that's going to last and offer you the features/options you desire. Usually as with consoles and cars if a company treats you right and doesn't let you down you're a little more friendly towards that company and will purchase the next model. Same applies if it doesn't go as you planned...if you're used to consoles lasting 15+ years and one doesn't even last you 3 years, you tend to get a little jaded....get my drift? :D

Kind of off topic:
no matter how good and powerful these new systems are, or how good the graphics will be, none will( at least for me) beat the SNES and Sega Genesis in terms of sheer entertaiment. Sonic the Hedgehog, Super MArio Brothers, all those cool side scrolling fighitng games that tottaly sucked yet were so damn fun, Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat and all those weird fighthers that again tottaly sucked but were fun, Street Fighter II IMO the greatest fithign game ever made bar none (Ryou OWNS all those pussy Tekeen/Soul Calibur/ Virtual Figther wimps with one HA-DU-KEE!) and all the other games I cant remember right now. SNES and Genesis were truly gold in terms of pure unadultered F.U.N. I didnt care about the system specs, graphics or memory, I cared about how fast Sonic was going, who the hell made the character Dhalsma(sp?) in Street Fighter 2, where Yoshi went when I lost him, and if the bad guys in side scrolling fighitng games were quadruplets cause they all looked alike. To this day, I have not found any other game more fun and or felt like more of a accomplishemtn than Sonic the Hedgehog 2, my favorite game of ALL time.
kk, im done reminiscing(sp?) about the good old days of gaming for me. ;_; I want to go buy a Genesis and SNES now ; ;

FYI: "A LOT" is two words not one. Please use the space bar :P

And by the way PS3> all (including PC) until further notice

No thanks.
And why does the PS3 own everything else? Its not even out yet. I dont care at all about the system specs. saying one system is better than another is dumb specially if you have not played it yet. No matter what Sony makes for the PS3, it will not even touch Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

I think 90% of the peeps on this board have no right to talk about others being Fanboys

You have a lot of nerve saying someone is "dumb" because they are giving their opinion. Not only that, but by only quoting them partially just to make a weak statement about something that you are obviously not understanding in the first place. The FYI wasn't for you it was for the person above who obviously is ignorant to the fact that "A LOT" is two words. So keep your mindless and nonetheless pointless quotes to yourself if you can not grasp what was intended. If that is not to hard for you to do.

Off the top of my head these "reasons" come to mind:
1. look at the title of this post note that obviously its not for the Xbox fanboys
2. Consoles are superior in my opinion due to several reasons.
a. You do not get viruses on a console
b. You get hardware that lasts a long time. The developers stick with what hardware they have to work with and therefore unlike PC's you dont have to go out and buy completely new models everytime a new game comes out or new hardware ... i.e. video cards.
c. Etc for whatever I have left out at the moment (trying to keep this short >< )
3. what do the other consoles really have that stack up against the diversity of PS? (if someone mentions Halo or Halo 2 I think I'll puke then mutter about Killzone 2)
4. etc etc etc

My xbox sits in the closet. Even with its Media Center, Xenium, and 120Gb HDD.

Why? FFXI.

And I really dont feel like playing anything it plays. You can only play Halo so much.

You calling me ignorant is just like him calling someone dumb so don't get on that. To the grammer kike --->

So consoles are superior to PC because the PC is constantly changing...UPGRADING...its components to create a better experiance and product  hardcore PC builds and gaming isn't for cheapos and kiddos. Simple fact is on a console you are limited to what can be done and a PC is just limitless in possibilities. As for viruses I guess I'm lucky but I've had CPUs for god knows how long and never saw a virus. Then again I'm very careful what I open and if it's an E-Mail from an unknown source /delete. So if you can't keep up to date with CPU technologies and don't have a halfway decent system I can see where you may be right but only on a personal level. Fact is as of now PC > All. Does Xbox and PS2's run the world ? I think not, PC's do.

You would think so, but if you go to any kind of LAN party, the nicest rigs (PCs) tend to be owned by 16 year olds most adults have other obligation (family, bills, etc) to be blowing the kind of money required for hardcore gaming. Sony’s biggest market is 25-35 because the majority of adults still want to game, but we no longer have the abilities to spend the kind of money required to keep up with games. You can not judge a persons age or maturity level based on what platform they play on.

"I don't think so Tim"....I wish this were the case but it's not. The targeted audience is much lower for console gamers than PCers. There use to be a site for all of this I'll dig around at lunch and try to find it. As for the comment I made "cheapos and kiddos" it's basically saying people to cheap to upgrade and 1-14/15 at 16 a job becomes more viable hence more money to get good stuff for that rad CPU :o I was not judging but more kids own consoles and more adults own CPU's. Perfect example of me being right was how many children were introduced to this gme through the PS2 release  and how it was much more a mature, older (college lvl), & and all in all better community to play with.

Game manufactures don’t separate the PC and Console markets, there target audience is the same, which is no longer kids (which is why Nintendo Game Cube failed) <Sorry Sabs>.

Also the game was first released on PS2 in Japan on May 16, 2002 and wasn’t released on the PC in Japan until November 5th. There have been PS2 Players in the game since day one. Yes at the US PS2 release there where a lot of immature players in the game, but the majority of them have also left the game, leaving us with the current immature players who typically range between 18 to 25. RPG’s are not a big hit with the younger gene; they prefer FPS.

The latest video card setup (assuming I already had the motherboard to support it) would cost me 1200.00. You will be hard press to find any responsible adult drop that kind of cash. Though collage kids may be in the age of adult-hood, they by no means are responsible or mature and have never been consider as such. If they were they would be taking that 1200.00 and going ahead and paying there student loans or paying there parents back. Yes, I would still like to be a hard core gamer and have a 5000.00 PC again, but maturity and responsible prohibit that.
