I <3 people from Canadia eh?

I don't <3 MicroSHAFT's crappy system comparatively, nore do I like what Nintendo has been flopping off the assembly line. Gamecube went the way of the Sega Saturn... It started off strong... then decided to lick the underside of some sod while the PS2 out sold it by insane numbers. The new Nintendo item should be one to look forward to, as I'm a fan of all games up to 64. I'd never sway from Sony though, they have the best engineering teams on all facets of electronics, and if you think I'm wrong, I'd like to see 1 other company with the sheer diversity of quality products. I have about 30 different Sony components between my car, home, and computer, and not one has had a problem since my FIRST generation PS1 with the cooling problem where you had to play it with the console upside down. MS will never have the following of Sony just because of the poor media, and half-assed design of a controller. That is the number 1 complaint I hear about XBOX and I agree, that damn controller is so awkward to use, it's like you need all 10 fingers to play, and you still need to use your face to do the steering. (On a side note, who remembers that code from Shadows of the Empire on nint 64? The one where you had to hold all buttons and move the joystick, you had to have 2 people or use your face, lol)

Since I'm "over the hill", what does Canada say?

I agree with Asia on this one. Most of your points are valid but also moot. The success of a console is determined by the software period. TFLOPS, Mhz's, Memory, storage etc. it doesn't matter. All these new systems are super powerful to the point that any technology advantage one has over another would hardly be noticeable. Take a look at the current systems.. only a few developers really take advantage of the resources at hand. I doubt a lot of the developers who are currently coding for the new platforms have even tapped the real power of these new systems. When it comes down to it.. the apps coupled with the marketing blitz by these publishers will make or break a system. There are a lot of hot "only on yaddayadda" games looming on the horizon, why limit myself to one system? I, most likely, will get them all so I can keep my options open. :D

I just decided to post this because I have a severe distast for anything Microsoft.

Oh, btw, PC still pwns both systems.

Omfg, the irony.

Anyways, I want to get the revolution and ps3, I've always liked both companies games and systems. Buying my XBox was a complete waste, I've maybe played 30 minutes on it. None of the games interest in the slightest, except for Halo (Halo 2 sucked >.>)

Anyone want to buy an XBox? >.>

LMAO, Congratulations on the successful Hijack of the thread.

Why is it that only good looking people advertise for STD meds? You never see some down and dirty crackwhore talking about STDs.

And Canada also has that rare moose-humping disease, sick bastards. J/K Though there probably is one...

question . . .

how can someone in their right mind blow their load and turn fanboy over a console that hasn't even thrown out playable demos yet?!

OMGZ THOSE PRE-RECORDED DEMOS ARE TEH R0XX0RZ IN MAH B0XX0RZ!!!!

at least wait until you can see something playing in realtime before you soil your garments kids.

Let me preface this by saying I will likely buy all 3 next-gen consoles at one point or another, because I did the same thing with the current generation.

PS3: I reserve all judgment on this console until people can actually control the system (and no, the duck demo doesn't count.) The more Sony swears up and down that the Killzone/etc trailers are all in-game or 'to spec' footage, the less I believe them. If it IS in-game, I'm blown away, but something's up if they didn't at least show SOMETHING playable that showcased the power of the console. All things considered, though, it's going to be an 800 pound gorilla, and if they can sell it $300 (though I've heard the Japan price point will be ~$500) I'll be in line on launch day.

...maybe a week after launch. First run Sony consoles...

Revolution/DS: I honestly don't understand where Nintendo is going with their company. It's like they've given up on winning the console wars and are settling to being the $99 'third console' player. Absolutely nothing about the Revolution impresses me so far. Backwards compatibility? Sure, that would have been nice in the LAST generation. This whole 'old = profit' idea? Interesting, but I see it being 80% first party games and 20% crap they could cobble together in deals. Which in and of itself is not a BAD thing, it's just that I can do the same thing (and better) with a $30 modchip and my current Xbox. This seems to be Nintendo's last stand, and I can see them going the way of Sega and just becoming a game producer by the end of the decade.

As for the DS: Oh sweet God I'm still laughing at the early adopters of that. All this new innovative speak they spouted off is nothing more than gimmickry. It's ugly, it's difficult to hold, it's got less than 5 really stellar games on it right now, and one of the titles with the biggest buzz (Mario Kart DS) DOESN'T EVEN USE THE FREAKIN' TOUCHSCREEN. In conclusion I am not a fan.

360: Xbox was my favorite console of the last generation, and I don't even own Halo 2. I liked the hard drive, I liked the graphics capability, and once I got broadband I fell in love with Live. Before I got XI I was always playing DDR or NFL2K4 or what have you on Live, and really enjoying it. I even liked both controllers (although, to be fair, I have pretty massive hands.) And now, the 360.

I like the 'stream media' aspect. I like that they're keeping the built-in HD. I like that it's a sleeker console. The whole 'marketplace' thing seems gimmicky, but it could also turn into a PC mod-style community. Probably the former, though. Will 360 win the console war? I think it's got a good shot with the 9 months-year of lead time it gets over the PS3, and may be half the price of Sony's console at launch. Wouldn't be suprised if they held Halo 3 until PS3 launch, either.

For all you non Intel peeps... (preparing for Intel Fan Boy Flame)

XBOX 360 is finally a serious stab at the console market. XBOX was nice.. but this will be a bit off from PS3 specs... but the development can be done now, rather than later.

XBOX360 will be using 1=2 ATI5xx chipsets (custom) for direct video, CPU power will be in a triumberate of IBM micro's based on the next gen G5 processors (taping out now). Anyone see the XBOX 360 dev kit? It comes with a G5 to prototype games as the final hardware release is not ready.

XBOX will win the 1st go.... Nintendo will still win our hearts.... PS3 will boggle our mind at full utilization. (Which prob will not happen until it's almost end of lifed)

For me.... I'll have all 3... thus loving them all...

BTW - GameCube still pwnz all consoles on speed and graphics! Too bad only the upcoming Zelda seems to tap into it.

The latest video card setup (assuming I already had the motherboard to support it) would cost me 1200.00. You will be hard press to find any responsible adult drop that kind of cash. Though collage kids may be in the age of adult-hood, they by no means are responsible or mature and have never been consider as such. If they were they would be taking that 1200.00 and going ahead and paying there student loans or paying there parents back. Yes, I would still like to be a hard core gamer and have a 5000.00 PC again, but maturity and responsible prohibit that.

Wow man I'm definatly going to go ahead here and say this is the most utter bag of shit I've ever smelled. I work full time, pay bills, go to school, and I pay for my on school (haven't taken a single loan to date). How can you say college kids aren't responsible or mature when there are tons of them like me out there? Yea, there are a bunch of kids who waste mommy and daddies money and drink down the years and party but goddamn don't you dare judge the whole community of us off them. There are also kids like me who choose to drink etc. but they still get shit done. I do all of this at 20 and I know there are millions more who do the same. I also support a habitual CD buying habit, food, gas, EVERYTHING I fkin buy is from my earned money. Everything in my goddamn house came from my money except for one of my guitars and this old ass Necrophagist poster. How is that not mature or responsible ? You damn "college kids are all party hard and don't so shit else" type make me irate and it's funny how you're so goddamn fast to judge tons of people you don't know shit about. I work my ass off everyday to hear clowns like you open your mouth and say shit like that...so disgusting...I garuntee if you would go around the U.S. to schools looking for people like me you'd find there are more hardworking, mature, responsible individuals than slackers because slackers don't last when things get tough

I feel better now....sorry. I realize I just jacked this whole thread here and I appoloize for anyone who it pisses off...it would me but I wasn't about to let this be said wth nothing back.

I'll admit when Playstation first came out i wanted to see it destroyed by Super Nintendo, as i believed Nintendo will always deliver. Then FFVII sold me a Playstation and i opened up to Sony. Microsoft took me with Halo 1 and none other. And XboX controllers are very comfortable.

In defense of First person shooter games. If you don't like them. It's because you probably played some crappy FPS and never gave them the time of day again. Play Halo with a friend and see what your missing

XboX was the most powerful system but the Nvidia GeForce 3 inside could not match the Gamecubes ATI flipper. Sometimes a game needs to have it's look and feel and when it comes to toon shading Gamecube had the technology to shock the feild itself with how well it can do a cell shade right off the hardware in real time, rather having it rendered frame by frame for video playback.

Naruto on Gamecube is magic

Console's do have better games on them over PC's, and when a game is made for PC, the package has to consider people with more dated PC's so they don't take advantage of the latest technologies. Also keep in mind, how all games are made on PCs today... Some companies still use SGI O2's(not a PC and is practually obsolete) which is over 10 years old and very dated, to make todays games.

Thank you, you made my point. You don’t like me tossing generalization. Statically in the last 5 years more adults are playing games than teens across all platforms. There are statically more adults playing on PS2 than teens, but you choose to make a generalization based simple on a smaller number of teens who makes asses of them selves in the game. Most PS2er you don’t even know are playing on PS2 and there where annoying teens in the game even before the US PS2 release.
