I have a question regarding the XBOX 360 peripherals available.

Currently, I am on PS2 and I play using this controller: http://www.nextag.com/Logitech-NetPlay-Keyboard-Controller--zz55417246zB2z2--COMPARE-PRICES-html

Does anyone know if something that would be a controller/keyboard combo for the 360 is in the works?

This thing has become another appendage for me, and I cannot see myself getting the 360 and the 360 version of FFXI till one of these is available.
Using keys to control movement, vision, locking-on, etc. is not going to work out for me, so I need a controller/keyboard combo.

Please let me know if there is anything like this out now, or if you have any news of such a product. I'm interested in moving to 360, but not till I know I can swing one of these. :)

Thank you.

I wonder if there are PS2 > X360 Peripheral adapters that might work..

Have you tried the PSX -> USB adaptor available at radio shack?

It should work. I used that for my ps2 controller when I played FFXI on PC.

I just clicked the link you posted Sneaky and noticed its listed a USB 2.0 device?
If thats the case, theres a real good chance it will work on the 360's USB ports.
Did you try plugging that badboy into Jaz's 360? I'm assuming he has FFXI for it by now /nudgenudge jaz <3

Hmmm that could work. But the controller actually has two plugs. The typical PS controller plug and a USB plug. I am not sure if I plugged the PS one only into the adaptor, that I would ultimately have the functionality of both parts...The USB piece would just be hanging.
Unless there are multiple USB jacks on the XBOX that would support a single controller.

Nope not yet Asia ;). I haven't been able to make my way to Best Buy to buy it.. let alone contemplate redoing all my macro's on the X360 when my PC is just down the hallway. I'm getting tempted though, but I think GRAW and Oblivion will start getting jealous if this new kid joins the club.

The X360 has, if I remember correctly, 3 USB ports. 2 on the front for wired peripherals and 1 on the back for the wireless adapter.

Hmmm this might work.
I don't know if this is the best solution though.

My current controller's capacity to do what I am telling it to do has diminished. This holds true mostly to the movement joystick.
Being that Logitech no longer makes these, I'm not sure that's the long term fix I want. It's better than nothing for sure...But I'd still like to see if they will come out with something like it for the XBOX 360. Then I'll buy 2 right away. :)

Logitech® diNovo™ Cordless Desktop®

I highly recommend the Logitech® diNovo™ Cordless Desktop® on your Xbox360.

It works well and the wireless mini-receiver is really small.
It fits into the front panel perfectly so looks great too.
(no need to reset/reconnect after u shutdown your xbox360 unlike some other ones)

The keyboard is also very small since you can detach the numberic keys and use it as a calculator.
I've also tried the PS2 Netplay keyboard, it works great if you opt for the wired ones.

cheers,
Ubuntu

Does the Logitech® diNovo™ Cordless Desktop® have a controller piece? I'm not really seing one.

I'm not interested in a keyboard only. Although, that looks like a slick keyboard onry.

The two in one controller that I have ever come across is still in development i think.

(sort of like a blackberry by looking at the picture)

I don't want to carry the USB keyboard around when I do XboxLive One-on-One chat (which is really cool btw especially when it comes to Exp Party and chatting in LS at the same time lol) so I like the idea to have the keyboard seperated.

Off topic here: wow, thats a damn nifty controller. Kudos to whoever designed that, if I was on PS2 I would definately buy one!

:)

That's exactly why I don't want to live without that type of design moving forward.

Hmm that looks to be in the right direction, but that's a damn small keyboard. ^^

The UK never even saw the release of FFXI for PS2.

Nor any real MMOs for the console, so I spose it was never released here due to lack of a market.

Dunno, we only have the UK controllers/keyboards, with the button that causes the PS2/PC to dispence a cup of tea, not sure if they are compatible overseas.
