Wow, I think I finally found a reason to dust off my Wii.

Information on the game, no relation to Xeno titles, just named that in honor of the creator of Xeno.

Three weeks ago, we reported that Nintendo and its subsidiary Monolith Soft were working on a Wii-based RPG titled Xenoblade (originally announced as "Monado" last year). Today, a first batch of information surfaced in Japan. The game depicts a battle between man and machines on the corpse of a giant God. The developers promise a grand adventure and a refreshingly new battle system. Battles will be fought in real-time and the transition from field to battle map will be seamless. A lot of effort went into the creation a world whose exploration can be enjoyed by the player. Completing Xenoblade will apparently take between 50 and 60 hours.

Wish this came out for PS3/PC. I know its unrelated to the Xeno games but the same team working on it makes me wanna try it.

Hmm Yes, I definitely want this. I really hope it get's a US release. Looks like it may be one of the Wii's most expansive games, aside from Monster Hunter 3. But even so, that world looks amazingly huge. It it wasn't for the character models, I almost wouldn't have believed it would be a Wii title at first glance.

Also, the voice of the Japanese main character.. kinda sounds like the voice of a younger Chouji from Naruto. That's the first thing that popped into my head when listening to it.

2010-2011 years of the Wii RPG's.

Between this, The Last Story from Mistwalker and Dragon Quest X all hitting the Wii, should be great.

Wish this came out for PS3/PC. I know its unrelated to the Xeno games but the same team working on it makes me wanna try it.

Unfortunately Monolith Soft is a first party developer for Nintendo now, so it won't be coming out for any other systems.
It would be interesting though seeing this game on 360/PS3 though, just to see how far graphically it could go.

This looks like it was developed for the ps2. Which, we know the Wii has better graphic processing than this.

Well if you want to complain about it's graphics, well.. quite frankly I'm sure the Game Cube could handle the graphics we see in the cinematic scenes. As far as the gameplay though, it looks pretty impressive. It's probably the largest game world on the Wii aside from Monster Hunter.

But I do like that what armor your character is wearing shows up in the cutscenes. That's something most games fail at doing. Even though it's little, it's something I've always wanted my rpg's to do.

i think we well hear something in this year E3

Wow, that game looks so fun :P

Very nice. I may have to check this out sometime. Guess I'm glad I still have my Wii. I am a bit impressed it got such high marks given the technical limitations of the Wii, but I am sure it seems like a well made game. Glad it was finally brought over. It just took over 2 years..

I picked it up <3 haven't started it yet though, been busy and when not busy sleeping a lot >.> can't wait to play it though.

It's excellent, the scope of the game is magnificent, and be prepared to be amazed when you reach Bionis' Leg area, more specifically Guar Plains.

can't wait :) I think as soon as I get home (Since I'll have time) I'll start it up :D

does it start off well? I think a few games that are great have only really kept me from getting into them cause of slow starts lately.

Well enough.
Keep in mind it's very MMO-like with the battles and quest system.
Don't go overboard doing quests if you don't want to be overpowered for the story bosses, since they give EXP, AP, and SP, and there's 480 in the game.

But yeah, some shit can go down within the first few hours, depending on if you do a lot of quests or not, and it only gets better.
