Didn't see a thread on this.

Did anyone else get this yet? I only played past the prologue and Chapter 1 but it seems like quite a bit of fun. I have to say the only 2 E.S.(giant robots) battles I had were a lot of fun. The battlefield and the special attacks were really cool.

Character battles seem updated version of the old games. I think they did away with the Ground and Air things and added in a Break thing. Also seems each character has a special attack in addition to techs though i havent gotten any special attacks. Can't wait to get more into this game....so many mysteries to be revealed!

F**k off this is already out? Damn it i'll need to buy this <,<

Yeah, I also picked it up, along with a sweet door size poster of the evil KOS-MOS chick. Problem is, haven't even played it yet! I got Disgaea 2, FFVII DoC, Digital Devil Saga 2, and this all in 1 week, so I've been trying to switch between playing games. Just beat DoC, so this weekend I think I'll start Xenosaga 3. I read the database is back, and huge this time, I'm glad with that. I heard loadtimes have improved a lot since part 2, and they got the original VA's from the 1st one again.

Overall, from everything I've read it's a solid RPG with a great conclusion to the trilogy, just that early on it's information overload, they throw so much info at you that you gotta stay dedicated and keep track of it all. Can't wait for labor day weekend, it'll be this and Disgaea 2 keep me busy.

Yeah half the stuff I don't know what they are talking about this time. The loadtimes are significantly better this time. Field > battle is so nice now. As well as the load times when loading a game or switching scenes.

I think the game assumes you've read the database prior to some scenes. How is the skill system in this one, or is it even there? Did they use part 2's where everyone has the same skill sets exactly, or like in part 1 where each one's was unique?

I just picked it up can't wait to get home and play it over the weekend.

I still need to finish Xenosaga 2 >_<

Yeah really...i just spent like 45 mins reading the Database. I felt like I was in Xenosaga School...so much info -_-

And I haven't been able to use the skill system yet...but it looks like it works like a Skill Tree.

I'm saddened by the lack of posting in this thread.

I just got on to Disc 2 last night, and holy crap there's so much story in this game. I LOVE IT. The new battle system kicks ass too. It's much faster and easier...but kinda too easy. I miss the hard boss battles, cuz people rarely seem to die in Ep. 3.

The Skill Line is a nice addition too. Personally I took Ziggy, chaos, and Jin through their B-lines, and so far they're kicking some major ass with their Skills. Kinda wishing I took Shion through her B-line too since the "Support" job is kinda useless. Oh well, I might just go through the game again switching it up to see how it goes.

I've been doing both lines for everyone ;x

I've been playing it this weekend, I too really enjoy the new skill system they put in, I think I'll be going even for every character though, I just started Shion through her Support line, and Jin/Jr. are going through line B in my file. I can't wait to do more ES battles though, they just seem so much better than the previous games.

Yeah, I've noticed the game does seem easier now. The thing is they give you so many different skills and attacks, its much easier to abuse enemies weak points in this game than in the previous ones. And with the new Break system stunning them becomes easier too.

So far I'm up to the part where your trying to break into the CAT testing facility, to recover KOS-MOS, so I'm still fairly early in the game. I spent so much time reading that damn database. Everytime I see Database update, it's like "Damnit, another 20 minutes of reading info!"

guess I'll finally suck it up and beat Xenosaga II... hehe.. but it's just soo.. I dunno.. no motive here :| or maybe I'll just pick up Disgaea 2 and be happy

From a review I read on Gamespot, the game gets ridiculously hard later on ;x

I just hit Disk 2. Story getting so good.

Btw, I noticed they took a lot of things(character models) from Xenogears.
Theres a character whos Auto-Tech looks exactly like Seibzhen. Even she resembles Maria quite a bit. Jin's old robot looks like the one Citan had. Also, a cameo appearence from a robot that looks like Fei's Weltall. The robot's wings even flare up like they did for Xenogears when it transformed. I'm sure theres other similarities.

Ah. Playing this game is like going back home. I missed these faces. :D

Yea, im with Myrrh, WTF?!

I played 1 and 2...Didn't like em much, but ya can't go wrong for 9.99 in a bargain bin. Anyway, 3 is the worst so far imo. Why didn't they just cut out the gameplay and make a movie.

I think 3 is the best one in the series so far. Story is so good. Battle system is more fun than ever. It starts off a bit slow fighting wise, but it gets better.

Btw, anyone else try out the HaKox game? I beat all but the last world so far, last one I beat gave me a weapon with a whopping 80 something str for Jr. Weapon is about double any other weapon ive seen in the game so far. Well worth that painful last level of World 9.

I started playing it, but I didn't think the prizes would be that good, so I stopped. I was up to the 2nd world, it's alright, but I hate the camera angles.

I will immeaditely correct myself on the difficulty, what Tyrath heard is right. The battles do get considerably harder later. It's not as much each fight is "hard", but Save points become few and far between and enemies do a ton of damage...so it's more about conservation of EP and items.

As for Xenogears links and spoilers...I found the biggest one. Since it's not a plot spoiler and just an optional boss battle (think Ruby/Omega Weapons), I'll tell you all so you can freak out ^^. I beat a certain boss and got a key item which opened a door in the CAT facility. I went there and I entered a room where you saw Omega Universitas. You can choose the option to "simulate" a battle with him, so I did. After he gets to about 50% health, a short CS occurs and he turns into a new boss.... Omega Id. Anyone who has played Xenogears will instantly know how insanely hard this guy probably is. FYI he kicked my ass bad, heh.
