Yankee or Dixie? ^^

I got 49% Yankee. My daughter is going to be considered a freak when she gets older, because she already knows carbonated drinks as "pop" thanks to my upbringing, but anybody she grows up with here in Virginia won't know what the hell that is, haha.

59% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.
Pillbugs? Huh? Roly Poly 4tw!

The first week I was here (in VA) I ordered a medium pop at McDonald's, and they looked me straight in the eye and said "ummm....we don't sell that here"..... When I pointed to the Coke, they looked at me as if I had spoken in alien, and had just snapped out of it. It was odd.

46% yankee.

#19 Kinda through me, "What's a Drive thru liquor store called?" Ummm a drive through liqour store???

I've seen drive through liquor stores in NC when on vacation as a teenager, but I have no idea what they're called. It's pretty clever actually, it looks like a big carwash you drive into, only instead of all the cleaning stuff it's just shelves full of liquor. You tell the attendant what you want, they bag it up and put it in your trunk, you pay and drive out.

47% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

66% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

Based on the earlier questions, Yankee's don't know how to talk. Pronouncing creek as something rhyming with kick, wtf?

Oh, don't get me wrong, I know what they are and what they look like. We have a handful around me and I actually find them quite handy. I just found the question, "what do you call a drive-thru liquor store" puzzling because around here we call it the "drive-thru liqour store"..

55% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

I found it odd that they put me in the barely catagory. I guess I don't use enough georgraphic slang. I was born in rasied in the south though.

This one threw me: 4. How do you pronounce the second syllable in pajamas?
How does that rhyme with father?

it's a different stressing of the letter A, like when you say "ha" so it sounds like pajAmas. I agree it sounds odd though.

No matter what way you stress the A it wouldn't rhyme with Father or Jam. Also, the bug question kind of left me with no options. We don't really talk about any bugs around here with thsoe words o.O. though, I have seen the expression pillbug before, so I put that down.

40% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee.

And for the record, I say Creek. Not anything that rhymes with kick. I always thought it was you silly southerners who said "Crik." Heh.

78% (Dixie). That is a pretty strong Southern score!

Heheheh

57% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

The pajama's(sounds like father) one through me for a loop
