I hadn't gotten any requests for PLs or gil for a long time....until I was in Sandy with my WHM55 the other night....it was HELL.
 
Strange?, the same guy begged me for money at Bastok AH.

The only difference was Drjoe wasn't ass about not getting money when I said "no"

Not even /anon is foolproof. If they see you, see lvl 50-60+ gear, they'll ask for a PL. Why do we PLDs get asked for PLs? We should be spared from the agony.

I remember some guy (Ramriel is the name IIRC) asking me for a PL when I was soloing RDM in Tahrongi. Yeah, Tahrongi. XD I was around lvl 20 lol. Oh yeah, right after he asked he said "Oh, wait one minute have to go AFK" or something to that effect. Naturally I said "no." and /blisted :P
 
Hah, this happened to me in Bastok about 2 or 3 months ago when I was leveling THF (note: my highest job right now is THF26/MNK13...2nd highest is BLM25/RDM12).

Wandering around Bastok Mines, I randomly /check this fellow low-lvl Tarutaru (I always check Tarutaru, especially if they have a bazaar up, as this fellow did), and he didnt have anything that interested me...when he asks me "hello, are you new?"

Being that technically, yes, I am new to the game at that point in time, but not insofar that I hadn't been exposed to it for a while (my fianceé is Stine, a lv50 WHM), I answered "no, no I'm not". He immediately asks me "can I have some money?" to which I reply "no, I'm sorry I don't have a load of gil to give out (which was BS, I'd been farming beehive chips for weeks and leveling up off hornets, I had close to 300k). He says "please" and I reply "go farm for some gil, it isn't that hard" and he comes back with "fuck off."

I tell my LS about the latent rudeness of some people and they laugh it off, and I don't bother putting the kid on blist. I go about my business at the auction house and head out to South Gustaberg to farm and level a bit more around the lighthouse when I run into him again, and this time he has a friend!

As soon as I pass, the one I was JUST talking with begins the dialogue below:

Tarutaru #1 (whom I just spoke to in Bastok Mines): "hey Tarutaru2, there he is"

Tarutaru2: "Who?"
Tarutaru1: "That rude guy I was telling you about."
Tarutaru2: "Oh. How rude, you arrogant fucker."

Me: "Gentlemen, welcome to the first entries on my blist. Enjoy your stay."
Me: /point
Me: /laugh
Them: /angry, /fume, etc

I have since removed them but I haven't seen nor heard from them.

Beggars (in any game, they're in all of them) can go to that game's version of Hell.
 
Know who are scary? Beggers in real life. They are fucken crazy... They will knife you in a heartbeat. Think about it. Who would want to be homeless? People who have some sort of mental ailment, be it they are broken in the head or are adicted to something like cocaine or heroine. That being said, they aint all there. hought you had money on you... man you are screwed... They will knife you... Think about it. How would the police track a begger? They kinda just blend in to the worst parts of the city and move on... No social security numbers, no nothing. Man... They are some scary mother frackers I tell ya...

When someone asks me for gil (which is pretty rare), I always direct them to take up fishing.... 'cause I'm a dick that way. Anyone looking for the easy way out should stay far far away from fishing.
