So, Reeve and I were fiddling last night and added these two interesting things.

As for the spoiler, that's easy. It's just [ spoiler] & [ /spoiler] without the spaces.

Awesome, I've seen that spoiler tagging on other forums, didn't know how to do it or if we could here. The youtube one I'm less thrilled about, since now everyone's going to post stupid videos or make them their sigs or something. It's cool, but it'll get annoying if/when it's overused.

I'm gonna make a sig of me on youtube that's a spoiler and it's gonna open up and say: "I touched Miros' naughty spot!" and I'll go through all this trouble just to piss Bajaratt off ^.~
 
Perhaps we could limit the Youtube - via rules or functionality constraints - to certain forums. I can totally see the youtube getting out of hand lol.

I don't think we'll really be allowing youtube in signatures. That would just clutter the whole board up. But if you think about it, it doesn't load the whole movie, just a small part of the pic. ;o So it's not like we'll be overwhelmed with loading time.

We'll keep an eye on the issue though, and I want to remind everyone to use the report feature if they see something being abused!

edit - Also, for those of you who aren't aware...we have a new field for your 'bio' near your avatar. xD It's just a place to put what server you are in. neophytal & Reeve are responsible for this! So thank them. =) We have people migrating and people coming here from other servers, so it's just an easy way to view where y'all are now. :)

ooo nice. Youtube is blocked for me at work so when people post links, I can't watch them until I get home which by then I just forget to go back and check it out. Videos coming directly from this site, maybe now I can watch all the funny stuff or news that people post at work unless of course the videos just don't play. I'll have to test it.

I remember a few months ago the community wasn't really psyched about a youtube option. I personally think it has it's uses, and as long as it doesn't get out of hand it'll be neat.
The spoiler tags I've been wondering why we've never had them before. Great for posting info on missions and not wanting to spoil anything.

Fuckin hell yeah, awesome shit guys. I love the spoiler thing, never seen that before anywhere else. I don't really see the youtube thing as being a problem..people already clutter off-topic with links to stupid videos, what's the difference if it's a link or the actual vid? Just one less window to open. And like Miros said, it won't cause any more loading time - except for maybe dial-up users, but they shouldn't be watching youtube vids anyway.

Nice additions, as long as the youtube stuff isn't allowed in sigs, it shouldn't get really bad.

We should add a [threadcrap] command for pretty much me and a couple other people. Only those who choose to see the thread crap command would be able to read out posts. I'm completely not helpful with anything but comedic relief (I fail at that) and shitting on people (somehow better at this then comedic relief)
