It's been a long time since I updated about my dieting, mostly because I had a hard month where I barely dropped 5 pounds.

But, as of today.

I have lost exactly 40 pounds.

40!!!

I've gone down 2 shirt sizes, and one pants size so far (I might be down another one, because the pants I have are falling off my ass.)

I still have a long way to go to get to my goal of 150lbs, but I'm doing the best I can, and I think I've got over my plateau of only losing a pound a week.

Well, this is just an update for the people who've been following my weight loss progress, and to say that I'm still working at it!

EDIT: Pictures for those who requested. I think I'm actually pretty cute in these, and I didn't size them down like I usually do. They're blurry because...well, my photo taking skills suck. Enjoy!

GOOD JOB!!!

I hate seeing my dad and step-mom trying every new diet out of the market. When they DO lose weight, they gain it right back, and each time they damage their body more and more by depriving it of certain vitamins, and nutrients.

The only safe way to really diet is to watch what you eat, both quality and quanity. Try to exercise. Like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or cooking dinner rather than calling it in.

You just have to have a healthy lifestyle.

Congrats! That's awesome!

I have a friend attempting to lose some weight, and I know how much effort it takes him to keep to his routine. Hopefully you'll be down to 150 in no time. ^^

Congrats! I have high respect for you, diets are no fun.

I don't think I could ever diet, so I just eat "healthier" and cut the bad stuff like: fastfood, french fries (at school), and soda.
For example; at school, I don't get 3 slices of pizza and french fries, nor the puny salad and obligatory fruit. Instead; I eat something in between, like the nice, hardy lunch specials that my food service gives. I usually get grilled chicken, mixed vegetables, and rice.

Anyway; aside from my rant on food, my main method of weight loss was (and still is) hard and rigorous excersize. When I first started, I could only walk on the treadmill.......for half a mile. Now, I run three and a half miles every day, as well as 1400 sit ups. Since September of last year, I have lost 118 lbs. I am very happy, very proud, and in dire need of smaller clothes ^_^.

Keep it up Kipsy; if I could do it, so can you!

{config}ulations! that's an incredible accomplishment and something you should definately be proud of. i'ma be losing some weight this summer... crash diet when i go on course in kingston... eat the salad or eat teh grey stuff... i know what i'm going for.... nutritious delicious grey gruel! (or not)

Good work Yomi! You'll have to post an updated pic in the RL pictures thread

RAWR :D

Grats.

I used to have the same kinda problem only it was I coudn't gain. Weight lifting taught me a few things.

Just remember you have to keep it up for along time. Your body remembers its former weight and if you slack off you'll find you'll easily gain it all back, or lose it.

Keep up the good work, it really pays off. And there is nothing harder than controlling your diet, excersize.

Congratulation and your hair is looking good.

Sweet

Awesome Yomi!!! Maybe you can give me some tips on losing some weight. I try a lot of different things and even started a high protien diet recently. It seems whatever you are doing is working very well for you. Just dont be like Anna Nicole Smith and lose the weight un-healthily. Thats not worth it either.

No Anna Nicole Smith-ness for me. I'm losing weight with a medically balanced diet, throuhg Medical Weight Loss Clinic (somewhat like Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers, but it's Michigan based, and you don't have to buy their food).

I'm still around 210. I've got a plateau that I just can't seem to get past. But I'm working at it. I just need to work harder, and exersize more.

My best tips are...8 glasses of water a day. No soda! If you must have soda, try caffiene free and diet. Lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. 3-4 a day of both! And lots of fish! Cod, Whitefish, Tilapia, Orange Roughy. All low fat, and very healthy for you. ^_^

FTW! I love those. What about salmon? Thanks.

Salmon has a higher fat and salt content that the white fishes, so it's best not to eat it more often than 2 times a week. *Nod*
