Yes, CoP completion isn't as big a deal now as it used to be, but what makes this thread particularly unique is that the group that achieved this completion was largely composed of those who had already completed CoP.
About a month ago, I was bummed over repeated CoP losses and broken statics, when my social/roleplaying linkshell, the Nightblades, offered to help me and another member, Tsiife, get sea. Admittedly, our reasons for doing so were somewhat eccentric--we wished to roleplay in Al'Taieu. We formed an impromptu group, and set out immediately to achieve this goal. Ikari, his friend Naibara, and Seikatsu were all mainstays of our static, all many months removed from having beaten CoP themselves. Yet they faithfully assisted us without thought of reward for themselves, even if certain members (*coughNaibaracough*) tended to show up to level-capped battles naked.
At Sacrarium, a weird guy named Skillit showed up more or less uninvited. Lol. We were a group of five at that point, and Skillit asked hopefully to tag along with us for later CoP battles. Me being the asshole that I am, I told him he could come only if he was completely prepped for each mission, showed up on time, and never lagged behind, or else we'd move on without him. To his credit though, this guy busted his ass for us, knowing pretty much no one in the group but Seik, and was always on time, completely prepared, and kept his mouth shut. He worked really hard for us, so we were happy at the end to call him comrade and get him his ring as well.
In short, my heartfelt thanks to Naibara, Ikari, and Seikatsu for constantly helping us with CoP, and thanks as well to Caelia and Kermadec for filling in for Seik while she was off at the Fanfest. You guys are awesome, and we certainly couldn't have done this without you.
