This actually evolved into a deep (well slightly) conversation yesterday at work. If being a pirate was doable these days would you do it?

As in the whole sailing a ship, raping and pillaging, drinking assloads of rum and never brushing your teeth or showering lol.

My response was a dead quick "Hell yes, you'd see me with a boat tomorrow morning stealing your shit."

Hmm hard choice to loot and plunder the ships of the 7 seas or to stalk my prey coming up from behind and sliting his throat. To fence against the british stealing ships and sinking them or killing a entire army with a katana, some smoke pellets and shirken.

Have to go with the ninja that take over a boat of pirates then steals all the loot. All the profit none of the work.

I think it'd be cool and all but I don't think I'd like a life at sea. Sure it'd be fun with all the rum you'd have to drink to stay healthy (yes, that's the reason), but I hate seafood and I think over salted meat would get old. Then there's the scurvy. I love me some booty, what person doesn't. I guess my major issue would be do I get a galleon or a modern boat. Or do I take a modern boat and throw a triple mast system on it, or a galleon with engines and torpedos. And the hurricane climate in the Caribbean of late is quite rough, I'm not sure it's all that profitable when you lose a boat 6 times a year. I believe that means I'll have to be content being a digital pirate.

Anything a Ninja could do, a Pirate could as well. Fire breathing was just alcohol and a torch. Sneaking around and killing, Pirates did that on shore or after they've docked a boat stealthily.

As for all men, read up on Anne Bonny and Mary Read. Two female pirates on the same ship. Rachel Wall, Sadie the Goat.. Plenty of well known female pirates. The only problem is, most kept the fact that they were female a secret.
