So, much like rappa, i'm not out to be a giant dick here or anything but i'm always hearing about this whole 'sense of accomplishment' and how it makes having the gear better. This leads me to ask the question when the game goes down the pipes and some of you are 4-5 years or better in to your sense of accomplishment and get the rug yanked out from under you which bridge are you jumping off and where does the line form?
If i put as much work in to anything as alot of you guys do (cheater and honest player alike) and was willing to make the leap that by playing a video game i had accomplished something ... well let's not go there, as i said i'm not for being insulting about it. It's just not something i grasp real well.
Doc works to cure a disease for a decade.
Doc finished cure after said decade and celebrates his accomplishments.
Doc get cure stolen/destroyed/etc.
Doc goes in to a fit of depression (at the very least) and takes action based on it's severity.
Where's the qualifier here? I mean this whole thing comes off as a little more than jaded with the whole "my accomplishments" thing. Cheating or not gain = accomplishment. The degree of how seriously you take it is what seperates players on this game, it would seem.
It's a game. It should be fun. Sounds to me from alot i've read on the board that more than a few of you are just shy of compeltely detached from reality. Again i'm not out to insult so if you take offense to this please take a moment to ask yourself why. I'm also not out to talk down to anyone about this sorta thing, just kinda curious if anyone can put a little more light on it, i can't wrap my head around it.
I'm sure you're link is great, kink, and it's awesome you have that kind of faith in your people but as for the above at what point is the line drawn?
As not to derail completely if this should have it's own thread i can do that but i wouldn't even begin to know where to put it .. and coming from me it'd only be a matter of time before someone just busted in to scream 'shitcock' at me
