Rofl so what in your books justifies the best? You can't name one person with the exception of Phraust that has my type of history. Phraust has probably made even more gil than I have come to think of it, but "All around" in my eyes means claims as well.

I know I could smoke my boy out at most any Widescan NM.

Ummm... actually Baron Vapula is a BLM type demon NM, I figured the "Best all around NM camper" would know that... And I would love to see a 75 NIN solo this BLM NM lmao.

I am a 75 NIN also, and I wouldn't touch a blm type NM with a 20 foot pole, let alone this one.. Maybe you should at least do some research on the NM's you talk about, that way you won't look like a complete moron.

Btw i do not know if you should claim to be "The Best". I mean while you may be "One of The Best", because while i am not denying that you may be a very patient person, or be good at using widscan, at a certain level of skill (or practice some might prefer to call it) on a game like this it will quickly become luck. who does it spawn closer to? who managed to refresh widescan at the right moment? who happens to not take a bathroom break when it spawns...at the end of the day after you reach a certain "level" it all becomes mostly luck.

Anyway...yeah try to not make any false claims and enjoy your flame :P.

At any rate... So since your Ninja can solo Baron Vapula, what do ya say? At least when whoever gets the claim, you will have more than 10 seconds of killing time to rub it in the others face. It's not really about the drop now is it? It's about the "Best all around NM camper" being able to claim an NM.

Or have you been camping VE so long that it is the only NM you feel comfortable competing against me on?

VE is fine with me.... just trying to spice it up a bit ya know...
 
Actually, why don't you both go to La Theine Plateau and see who claims the most Rams in like an hour or 2. Anyone can get lucky once and outclaim someone. Rams would be perfect and I don't ever recall seeing either of you farm them(I farmed them quite a bit back in the day) so noone would have advantage. Person with most kills at the end of say 2hours is the winner. Sounds like fun to me.
 
Foo, that would work for me. Never camped those rams, other than helping a friend with Purple belt (If in fact that is the quest I was helping on lol).

better if you guys go camp some real shit, maybe the shadows in fei'yin.

make it worth while so when you get the drop you can shove it in the others face. who the fuck cares if you get a ram horn and some skins.
 
I don't think the drops are really what matters here. Camping 24 hour spawn shadows doesn't seem to fit the situation. Wide area NM camping I think is what they were looking for, but I could be wrong.
 
if i won at the rams i would be like "ya, you suck, i'm the shit, gtfo"

if i lost at the rams i would be like "wow you can beat me to a 10k drop, i'll be camping something for real now" (if i camped)

if i won at the shadows i would be like "ya, you suck, i'm the shit, gtfo" and bazaar that shit.

if i lost at the shadows, i'd probably be quiet about it, and be thinking, "damn, that fucker just got a 10-15mil drop on me"
 
A very very large part of camping NM's is patience... Killing something that spawns every 10 mins (on the dot, I believe, but could be wrong), does not require patience.
 
Ya and on the way to Feiyin they can race like Vang wants too. Kriist as ninja with AF boots, and Vang as Thf with AF boots.

Although, I don't think either would share ToD of Eastern Shadow and definately not share it with this forum, but again I could be wrong. I know, however, that if someone just gave me ToD I would head up to there and try and claim him myself. The claim is not the hard part the trip to Feiyin and the drop rate is what sucks.
 
Just occured to me that Kriist has said many times that VE and such shouldn't count because they take no skill to actually kill, and therefore suggests some high level NM... Then when Foofighter suggests level 20ish mobs Kriist likes the idea.

Sounds to me that Kriist is just making excuses not to go to a mainstream NM with Vang.
 
I think the ram thing would be a fun contest. Like I said I don't think the drop or the mob is really important here. Being the best NM hunter in my opinion would be the best wide area claimer. Hell, VE would work too but like I said anyone can claim that NM at anytime if it spawns on top of you. I was trying to think of a way to test their skills multiple times in a short period.

If you really want to be the best claimer only - go claim KA. I know exactly when and where he spawns and it is based on random luck because everyone is spamming shit at him as soon as he spawns and until the update it was never an NA.

If you want variables go claim Ocdan (sp? Bravo Subligar NM) in Mis. Coast. You need foggy weather and he can spawn over a large area.

I have a feeling whatever is suggested that it will not satisfy some of you, but hey its the flameboards. To be honest, who really gives a fuck anyway. I thought it was interesting to try and think of the ideal situation to test this. I really don't care if anyone actually competes.

Didn't think so... oh and by the way this is between me and Vang, why not mind your own buisness...

The only reason I thought the ram idea was good, was because of the multiple claims possible. Like Foo said, anyone can get lucky and get a claim, But not everyone can get 10 claims in a row, and personaly I would feel that 10 claims in a row would have added a little bit of bragging rights, instead of 1 of us having the excuse "Well, you just got lucky!!"... starting to sink in yet??
