I think the point was that it will remove the chance of a once off lucking out.

Also the fact that they could kill 10 rams in under half the time it takes to camp and claim VE couldn't hurt...

Oh and they also get rich off the skins and horns!

Actually I asked if you know me because if you did you would know I funded my RDM gear to 75 on the VE and various lowby NM's, and I know how much luck is involved in camping them...

Ever camped Ulli for 4 hours only to be outvoked by someone who showed up 5 minutes before pop because it spawned right on top of them? Ya no luck involved there huh?

I thought Foo's Idea just seemed like a little less luck involved and a little more skill.... but hey I guess I was wrong.... sry :roll:

Bah. If you want to make this a serious contest, picking rams or a popular NM isn't the way to go. Pick something new, that neither party is familiar with. One of the new NMs from the July patch, for example.

Camping VE isn't really that tough. There are like.. 4 or so spots he pops the most if I remember correctly. It's just a matter of getting there so with THF your flee you can make it fine. I beat RNG that stand and widescan all the time.. even ones moving I've beaten before because by the time they see it on widescan and then get to it.. I have it. Now.. if only I had TH maybe I'd have gotten the drop when it was worth something XD (Seriously.. I need TH2 to balance with my natural TH-2 >.>)

I dunno, I spent some time camping him back in the day as a Blm/thf. Sold 4 pins for s whooping 180-220k a piece too. The other campers would all just stand the spamming widescan, so I'd run a loop and kill 4 placeholders, then time their death and pop and be there for the next spawn. Worked well for me.

I've been to that camp many, many, many times. Usually this is the first NM hunt for most of the people you see there. Not a great test. Hell, last time I was there helping a Whm friend get it, there were 12 people there. Things popped behind me, but my friend just strolled up and whacked him with his club for the claim.
