Aerandir said:Well, I'm going to take chance on this thread, and hope the job bashing is kept to a minimum.
What are the most powerful melee jobs from lvl 40-60? When I mean powerful I mean DOT, and also side abilities. Like the Drk's ability to absorb, and stun would be taken into effect, as would the Sam's tp madness. Now, I haven't played many melee jobs so I'm not going to bother with a list, but I'm hoping you guys could share your thoughts.
Here is an example of what I'm looking for.
1. mnk/war becuase.....
2. sam/nin becuase.....
3. drk/war becuase they are sexy
4. etc.....

From FFXIclopedia
(Redirected from DEX)
Abbreviation: DEX
A stat that is compared with an enemy's agility to determine the likelihood that a character's blow will be a critical. Dexterity also has a direct impact on a character's accuracy stat. For every two points of DEX a character has, his/her accuracy is raised by one point.
Dexterity also plays a significant role in determining the damage caused by Sneak Attack when used by a Thief.
I'm not insulting you or your tp gain, but I've out TP'd dragoons before. You get 36 tp at the start of the fight, true, but that's also assuming that all 3 of those hit. I've never had a tp problem unless I was fighting a mob with extreme evasion(Blaggers). My monk has the fastest melee attacks in the game(even without haste), and I can get 5 hits in each attack round.Waylander said:Late reply.....
Actually the timer for jump is 1.5 mins and the timer for high jump is 3 mins, if you're party is in anyway decent then you should only be doing one SC per fight. 3 mins for two jumps per fight is well within limits for chain 5 if you take into account the time it takes to pull the mob. That's 24TP free per fight and you always hit the mob immediately when it's pulled so that's 36TP, i'm a third of the way there and it's just arrived into camp.
Now take into consideration that i'll probably have TP from the last fight left over.
That should easily demonstrate how i can out tp most other jobs, but that's just the obvious bit, the truth of the matter is, 12TP per hit on a weapon that has a delay of 492 = fast tp build.
Factor in double attack and yes I can unequivocally say that I can out TP a Drk by double, I was replying to the OP in the quote you gave, who is himself a Drk.
But yes I have out tp'd properly geared THF's by double, I shared a joke in cape terrigan with a great THF called erindel about my TP gain, we agreed that I wouldn't use my tp macro anymore and she'd just assume I had 100%+ because she said I was just showing off by spamming it when she was still 40-50%.
And she WAS a GOOD thf.
Like I said I play it straight, I don't need to lie, people who know me know what I can do.
