What is your reaction seeing the news and a clip of Saddam before and after death. do you think it was too harsh and fate of him should be judged by Iraqi people onry and without American, or British interfearing?

You think execution was the right thing to do?

Should he get a life sentence instead?

Please Discuss.

He was judged by the iraqi people only, the sentence was them alone, and a life sentence is letting him get off too easy, he deserved what he got IMO.

The whole thing was done in Iraqi courts under US supervision. Not making a judgement just clearing that issue up.

I could care less really. People die every day, not all of them are mass murdering dictators, most of them are decent people who I find infinitely more interesting.

Personally, I think executing him was letting him off easy. Now I personally don't believe in execution. Death for Death solves nothing.

Alternativly, I feel the bastard deserved to suffer. Depending on what you believe, he's burning in hell. But I will leave the religous aspect out of this.

They should of locked him up, beat him, something other than kill him.

1 life < 2 million + lives. It was an unfair tradeoff for his victims.

I don't think there was any way to make him suffer as much as he had made millions of others suffer. They could've tortured him and whatnot, but then that makes us no better than him.

While he doesn't get to suffer anymore, atleast the Saddam part of Iraq's history is over now.

I'm on the fence about this. I don't think Saddam's part of the Iraqi history will be over until the whole conflict is over.

We entered this war (supposedly) to remove this dictator from power. We achieved that BUT, the base conflict is still going on. Thus until the war is over, his part is not over.

Especially when you consider the retaliation that may ensue from his execution.

I don't really like to agree with the Death Sentance because of how many people get it who are wrongfully accused. You can't pardon people after killing them. But in Sadam's case? Giving him a Life Sentance would be pointless, not only would there always be a fear of him escaping, but the amount of money spent on him has already been proposterous... people don't need to spend money to keep someone like that in prison. He was obviously guilty, the term "an eye for an eye" couldn't be put to better use.

Nicely stated. Exactly what I wanted to say.

Well I'm going to stick with the teachings of Gandhi and Buddha.

"An eye for an eye makes everyone blind."

The Sunni population of the world, 1.3 billion muslims, are probably not all together pleased with this judgement.

We're all going to die.

Everyöne see öf this as a way tö give back what he did tö öther peöpIe,
WeII I dön't see it Iike that, nörmaIIy i'm nöt för executiön but Saddam was sö dangeröus as a persön sö the best för the wörId is tö get rid öf him as söön as pössibIe, as Iöng as he was aIive there wöuId be peöpIe föIIöwing his cömmands, nöw that risk has been eIiminated and that is why I think executiön was the best söIutiön, nöt because he deserved it but because öf safety öf öthers,

Word!

We have a nice opportunity here. I think all the US solders should just chill back at their camps for the next two weeks. The next time they walk into town there will be far less people who wanna start shit, and far less people in general.

Nicest thing that ever happened to Saddam was being executed so he wouldn't be tortured and rot in a prison. If he had to be pulled out of another foxhole, I don't think it would be as gentle as last time. There were no more good times to be had by him, no matter how long he could have lived.

Following the same line of thinking, we poked out his eye. How many eyes did he poke out before we stabbed him?

This was more like an eye for a couple million eyes.
