XSEED is localizing/publishing Ys Seven, Ys: The Oath in Felghana (which is a remake of Ys III) and Ys I and II Chronicles for the PSP, as well as the The Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki trilogy.

Anyone an Ys fan? Great titles, I'd definitely recommend checking out at least Ys Seven, which releases late August, not just Adol in that one, party time, excellent.
Then later on there's I and II and a remake of III for the PSP.

Though Atlus did publish Legacy of Ys I and II for the DS recently, the PSP version is by far the better one, as it's based on Ys I and II Complete.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana is one of the favorites as well.

Maybe if these do well enough Falcom will develop an Ys IV and V remake as well as Ys Origin for the PSP, and XSEED again does localization.

Anyways, Ys Seven will be coming with a collector's edition:

The Ys SEVEN Limited Collector’s Edition will be available for pre-order at Amazon.com, GameStop, and other participating retail outlets for MSRP $49.99 and will include:
o Game soundtrack CD featuring more than 20 songs
o 60-page art book showcasing artwork from Ys SEVEN, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys I & II Chronicles
o 12.5” by 34” Cloth Map highlighting the world of the Ys series

It's an older Action RPG series, 1987 was it's first title on the NEC PC-8801, and has since been on various platforms such as the NES, DS, PSP, PS2, Windows, DOS, Master System, Genesis, SNES, TurboGrafx-16.
Not many have released outside of Japan, which is a shame.
Only the original releases of I, III and VI aside from ports/remakes have been released here.

There's also Ys on the Virtual Console.

There's Ark of Napishtim on PS2/PSP and Legacy of Ys I/II on DS in NA right now if you want to check them out, but I'd suggest waiting for the PSP offerings, especially Ys I and II Chronicles.

The music is also phenomenal in the series, composed by Yūzō Koshiro, Mieko Ishikawa and Hideya Nagata.

Ahh.. Ys, a really fun action/adventure/rpg-ish video game. Fairly simplistic, but fun. I remember playing a Ys for the SNES.. might have been Y's III, not sure. But I also own Ys: The Ark of Napishtim and it was a pretty fun game with a decent story and some exceptionally difficult bosses, there's even a hidden boss that's practically impossible to beat unless you are somehow able to level to the max level.

If I owned a psp, I'm sure this would be a great game to own.

There's also an older anime series for Ys as well.

I've never had the chance to play Ys before, so seeing them appear on the PSP is reassuring, I've been wanting to play them for a long time.

I have the Ark of Napishtim on PSP and I really enjoyed it but never beat it. It had a good story and the gameplay was fun. I might have to check this out.

Yep, I can't wait. I hopes it's just half as fun as it looks.

It's plenty fucking fun, I'm having a blast with it.
Really looking forward to Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Ys I & II Chronicles later this year/early next year from XSEED/Falcom also.

Anyways, just beat the Earth Dragon in the Earth Sanctum, the first of five dragons, and it was a fucking awesome fight.
Looking forward to conquering the other Sanctums, but first I need a metric ton of gold to buy upgraded equipment, plus farm various materials for synthesis.

Yeah, I'm loving it too, even more so now with the Undub taking those ridiculously awkward sounding "Haaa, Yahhh, Take this, etc." out of the mix. I like how the first boss is, a lot. You go through all of these easy mobs to get there and when he drops it's like, "Uh, am I doin' something wrong?" until you realize this game, on normal+, wasn't made for idiots to be able to spam a win button.

Yeah, I love the difficulty of the bosses, and I'm playing it on normal also, though I do plan on doing a hard and nightmare run later on.

I've been dodging like crazy, haven't quite mastered the use of Flash Guard (R+L) on bosses yet, but trying to get the hang of it.

Yeah, I plan to fully play this game for everything it is worth so Normal through Nightmare for sure. It's definitely one of those games I'll always keep in my collection.

Indeed, and when XSEED releases the other 2 those will definitely not be leaving my collection either.

I just hope this leads to Falcom doing an Ys IV and V remake for the PSP and XSEED releasing them overseas, since NA never got those titles.
Did you pick up the Premium Edition? Hoping The Oath in Felghana and I & II Chronicles also have a CE.

I just got a standard copy. I stopped buying limited editions long ago. I love them and I'd love to have them but they just end up in a box in my closet never to be touched again nor cared about. I'm really excited about them remaking The Oath in Felghana, but not so much the remakes of I and II. Those games were just terrible on the DS compared to the PC version so not sure how it'll work out for the PSP.

Well, the PSP remake is based on Ys I & II Complete, which is the definitive version of I & II, nothing like the DS version.
I'd go and say Ys I & II on the Virtual Console is a better version than the DS one.

And the LE is nice, I miss most RPG's coming with cloth maps, and the art book is good too.
The cloth map is also a very high quality, I'm considering framing it lol.

But onto The Oath in Felghana, a lot of Ys fans consider that the best game in the series along with Ys Origins, so I really can't wait for it.
Estimated to be coming here sometime in November, and Ys I & II Chronicles are sometime in January next year.
I love the fucking music in the Ys series also, just awesome with the boss music, and the various town, dungeon and overworld themes, and The Oath in Felghana is considered to be the best OST as well.

I'd like to see us get Ys vs Sora no Kiseki Alternative Saga as well, but I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't make the cut, nor would I be to particularly tore up if that end up being the case.

Beat it the other day, will start a nightmare run soon, fun times ahead.

Makes me want The Oath in Felghana more though, least not too far off, couple of months.

Nightmare is a blast, but difficult.
That fucking bird in the Holy Precincts of Wind.

Anyways, onto Ys: The Oath in Felghana, here's information and pictures of the premium edition for that, no release date announced yet though.

Torrance, Calif. - XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher, today announced the Limited Edition version of their upcoming title, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, for the PSP? (PlayStation?Portable) system, which will compliment the standard packaged game. In preparation for the release, fans who pre-order from participating nationwide retailers will be able to reserve a copy of the Limited Edition which will contain a soundtrack CD and a 4-inch by 6-inch 2011 desktop calendar highlighting artwork from the game. Ys: The Oath in Felghana is the next installment in the popular Ys series from renown developer Nihon Falcom that is being delivered to fans in North America under a multi-title partnership with XSEED Games. Both versions of Ys: The Oath in Felghana are scheduled for release later this year.

"The response we've seen from fans here of the Ys series, starting with the release of Ys SEVEN and now the anticipation for Ys: The Oath in Felghana, has been extremely exciting and rewarding for us," said Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games. "For this reason, we are extending our gratitude by offering this special collector's package, which reflects fan input on first wanting another Limited Edition in the series and then the kind of content they like to see included. This is the definitive version of Ys: The Oath in Felghana as its offering is a must-have for any fan of the Ys series and action RPGs."

Ys: The Oath in Felghana once again follows the adventures of friends Adol and Dogi who find themselves making an unannounced visit to Dogi's hometown of Redmont in the land of Felghana. Since his departure eight years earlier, Dogi finds himself returning home to find that things have changed dramatically, and not for the better. Hordes of violent monsters roam the outskirts of town, there are unsettling rumors of a long-dormant volcano suddenly becoming active again, and the newly-appointed lord of the land has been taxing the citizens heavily, while also depriving them of their right to mine for precious ores – a staple resource of the economy for generations. As Adol and Dogi begin to search for the sources of Felghana's recent struggles, they find that each clue leads them further towards the shocking conclusion that these events are all somehow linked. The closer they get to the truth, the higher the stakes are, as the consequences of their actions affect not just Felghana, but possibly the entire world.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana, developed by Nihon Falcom, is scheduled for release exclusively on the PSP system later this year. The standard version will carry a suggested retail price of $29.99 while the Limited Edition version will carry a suggested retail price of $39.99. For more information please visit:
