Why do so many people complain about /shouts? I mean I can understand if someone is spamming shit, but what if it's just a conversation? Most /shout conversations usually consist of more than 2 people so they should probably just party, but what if they're seeking? Just black list 'em and move on. Your shouts aren't any fuckin informing either.

Seriously, what the fuck is your problem with /shouts? It's not like any of you stupid fucks are gonna help with anything anyone shouts for free, unless there's a reward, then you'd be all over that shit. I'm pretty sure if you're a Whm you can spot out (|Teleport - mea|) (|Can I have it?|) etc etc, 'cause if you aren't, then I bet anything some fuckin Galka Whm is beating you to the offers.

And for christ's sake, don't say "Use say" because it's still gonna be the same shit only the font is colored grey and no one at the Chocobo Stables will be able to read it.

In short, if my /shout bothers you, you can either:
(A) Blacklist me.
(B) Turn on your /shout filter.
(C) Grow a Penis.
(D) Kill yourself.

What have you done man? You have just created another one of those 20+ Post threads....

FUCK.

I'm going to stay out of this one...

How would growing a penis fix this at ALL? ¬_¬a

Personally, I think it's stupid that people would have shout conversations because it has the possibility of others jumping in, probably causing a shout war - but then again, I ignore 99% of shouts unless it's someone starting some kindof party I qualify to help in (yay for helping G1 peoples!)

Whispering in your ear would be better?

Lol I don't know what the big deal is? /shout's don't bother me, say's don't bother me, unless of course it's some mindless insulting then I just ignore it.

Shout is bothersome to many because it is supposed to be a tool which allows you to appeal to everyone in the zone for aid(AF, certain NM, Avatar, Quest/Missions etc), or allow them to know that you are doing something the greater populace might be interested in doing (AF, Skill Up, Avatars, LS recruitment in some cases etc). When people use it for common conversation they remove the significance of the channel, and make it difficult to see actual important shouts.

I don't give a damn about your conversation with someone else, and I do not want to hear it. It does indeed offend, or at least make me think less of, those who use it for conversation. As for your solutions...

A) If I blacklist you, and you actually make a valid shout sometime, I would not be able to see it. I do not want to limit my potential for communicating with others, and you should not want to limit your potential on that front either. This game is dependant on multiple people aiding each other, so pissing off a significant % of the participation/blocking them from your view, is unwise.

B) There are many important things announced in shout, I don't want to miss them simply because there are inconsiderate jackasses out there.

C) Sexist/Vulgar/violent/Invalid examples cause your argument to lose validity, because you lessen the value of the points you are actually trying to use to support your argument AND it makes you look like an asshat.

D) See the above.

First off, let's just throw away the whole filter shout argument. It's stupid. If you are inconvieniancing someone so much that they must filter all shouts, don't you think it pretty much proves that you are being rude in the first place? Multiply it by 100. You are doing that ti 100 people at once.

What is there to gain from having a shout conversation? If people aren't involved why should they have to hear you? If you want to just talk in /tell for christ sakes.

There is a logical problem with the idea that if only a few people are shouting it doesn't bother you. Because, if shouting becomes acceptable, more than just a few people will do it. Imagine if just like /party, and /linkshell, people have constant chats in /shout? What if 20 people at once are trying to /shout, talking about anything.

What if everyone in the game who was looking for party sat in lower jeuno shouting

34 SAM / 6 WAR looking for PT!!! OMGZ PLZ INVITE ME DOODS

Then someone else shouting

OMG CAP YOUR SUB NOOB!!!!!

And 50 people were doing this crap all at once. People would have to filter shout.

Hence, the more people use shout, the more difficult it is to see a message that by shouting there's any benefit.

There is no benefit to shouting that you're LFP. Leaders can see you're looking for party in the search function. There's no benefit to using shout as a conversational tool, there are so many different channels at which people can communicate directly. You can hold up to EIGHT linkshells.

I can go on and on explaining all the reasons people shouldn't shout. Do you shout in a restaurant when talking to your friends? Or do you just walk up to them and talk quietly? I can go on and on...

Hey original poster you must be the most retarded piece of shit yet on this forum.

Sometimes shouts have been useful in the past, people organizing genkai or mission events. I dont want to miss out on those because dumbfucks like you or other people are having a conversation when they can /tell each other.

This is why you must either choose Option (C) or (D). I'm sorry my peach-colored font caused threat to your life. (|Do you need any help?|)

Allow me to reiterate my arguement though, because I did not put much thought into it and I apoligize for that, and the vulgar language/sexual remarks.

My arguement sort of went off as "GOD DAMMIT JUST STOP BEING BITCHES ABOUT THE /shout COMMAND YOU FUCKERS!". It's sort of an arguement of freedom of speech (Not the amendment, just freedom of speech in general). Not every shout is gonna be useful or informing. Just let it go. If it's really all that ear-shattering (and I use ear-shattering for all the ninnies that think a shout is hurting their ears), then use /blacklist. Chances are they're just a menace anyway. You CAN remove them from your /blacklist, it's not permanent. This is NOT real life. Me using /shout will NOT harm you. You CAN /blacklist me. You CAN have a fun play experience WITHOUT the assholes. Ladies and Gentlemen, THE TEXT SHALL NOT HARM YOU! I PROMISE YOU IT WON'T MY BROTHAS AND SISTAS! God bless us...

then quit being lazy fucks and get to gether and have a say conversation in a quiet place or better yet  Holly shit theres a /tell funtion!! USE IT DUMB FUCK and quit filling my screen with spam about shit I don't wana hear. So I can hear shout's that actually matter!!

I am party the reason Neo went on this rant because I yelled at him in Jueno for shouting yesterday. My point is exactly the same as Nasya made. It ruins alot of things if you continue to shout in and Jueno and undermines the whole purpose of shout. I don't mind if you do it to get people's attentions but once alot of people begin to join then I cannot even see the shouts that may be important to me. Now if you want to start a conversation the game gives you an assortment of options.

1) The ever so popular ls. If you want to spark debate why not just do so in your ls. If you think the debate is too rude for your ls and not an appropriate place for it why is shouting it any better?

2) Join a party together and do something while you all talk. I know this ruins your whole seeking idea but you don't always have to be seeking and more than likely your options for a party were bad anyways since you did not get an invite very quickly to begin with but thats another topic.

3) The understated /say. I don't know why people cannot use it. It works like shout but people within the entire zone do not have to hear it. Granted people within reach do but if you are smart enough there are a lot of empty places in Jueno to hide. For example, the gobbie shop or perhaps the tenshodo.

4) Move somewhere else. Jueno is filled with shouts because people crowd there. If you want to continue shouting why not change venue?

I would just like to say put some thought into it. Its not hard. I came up with 4 reasonable ideas and atleast one can fit your situation without compromising your needs. Needless to say, try not to be rude if you can avoid it. I know sometimes I get into the shout fights and I cannot help myself but if someone asks me to stop I would more than willingly do so.

Yoshindor, seriously, are you typing with your penis or are you just that dumb? Also, please note my second post where I restated my arguement.

Squall all your arguments were just reputed Just give up quit shouting like an asshat! As for insinuating that anyone who does not tollerate your inconsiderate and rude shout conversations, has no penis ect. ect. One perhaps you should secure your own insecurities about your body parts or the ones you lack first. As for saying I need to grow a penis, why not look at my wife and my son and tell me I have no penis.

Well if everything was reputed, what was the point of your post? And I did rewrite my arguement in what I thought was a less offensive way as well as i apoligized for my childish behavior.

Your E-penis is this big:
[-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------]

Mayhaps he meant "refuted"? Yes people, spelling makes a difference!

Yeah I thought there was something wrong when I read reputed. It just didn't seem right. Oh well, blame his poor grammar skills, blame me for not checking the dictionary of a word that didn't sound right.
