Hallo... I'd like to share a teeny story of how my people got together to once again accomplish things that people don't expect.
My sunday went like this:
As I log in Sunday morning my screen is looking at the glorious AH of Southern Sandy... knowing what my day will bring... I start to prepare myself and head on out.
Change into me WHM outfit and head out to sea to try my hand once again at Limbus... (vomit)... Met up with Lucylittle and on our way we went. Here's where the fun started.
First we need our cards to enter. Enter issue. So it was Lucy and the Flower... Fight started out going extremely well. No issues seemed to be presenting themselves. Until... the mob realized it was going to die by this one lone individual. It like FREAKS out... Unleashing whatever hell it had it's roots dug into... It starts wailing the crap out of Lucy. Shadows go flying... it starts it's pummeling. I'm tossing huge cures... cuz this thing might be a flower but hits really damn hard... all the enfeebles that Lucy landed it seems to toss away and resist everything else that gets sent its way. My favorite thing tho is Lucy's delay tactic... lmao... just going to mention it... he knows what I'm getting at. Well... After his awesome attempt at dodging a Cure V, the flower had a nice tasty breakfast and came after me for seconds. A zone and a ninja made my dodging being breakfast successful... well... for at least a little while. We kill the next flower with no difficulties even when it threw it's temper tantrum, and proceeded into Limbus. Then the wait started. After being told that there's going to be a 90 minute wait for us getting in I decide to afk. (Here's where the fun started...)
I come back like 30 minutes later to see that someone has died in shell... (I will protect their identity for I'm already plannin on keeping this over their head. Don't need anyone else giving them a hard time too... but if you find out who I'm talking about... feel free to give this person a hard time....) and were inquiring if I was still in sea. Answer was yes... she's here but afk... their response... I'll wait... ^^
And wait they did...
So I start heading out to give them a raise. Now for those of you who have sea access know how much of a pain Sea aggro is... for those of you that don't... I'll give you a teeny heads up. There's technically 3 levels to the outside area of sea. The level you run/walk/sit/heal/emote on. None of the mobs on this level in the outside areas aggro. The 2nd level is that what's underneath what you run/walk/sit/heal/emote on... these have big things what people call sharks. Tho I don't see the resemblence... they do resemble Manta rays and sting rays tho... so I call them mantas... Mantas aggro. They bite really hard... and the third level has UFO's... they look jelly fish like when on the ground... but literally like UFO's when they fly above.
Back to story... so this person is sitting there waiting for me to get there to raise them... I'm running around looking up and down up and down... trying to get to them to raise. And they died in a not so easy spot to get to... None the less I go to raise. Get there... Raise... Teleport myself so that it will take me less time to get back into Limbus to wait some more. Since I haven't played WHM a lot lately... I forget to recast Reraise becauase for some muffed reason it always falls off and you leave it in the zone that you teleport from or warp from... (>< My mistake...) Start heading back to Limbus... minding my own business watching the water and watching the sky.. watching the water and watching the sky. I hear that oh so familiar sound of something diving up from the water...
My first thought: I hope that's a dolphin coming to play with me.
Nope... it's a ray... and eats me. I die. Swear a storm because I don't have reraise II up... Home point... swearing in LS giving my friend a hard time because I just died and had to home point after going out to raise them. Teleport... enter sea again. Cast Reraise II. Head back to limbus... Scanning the water and scanning the sky... scanning the water and scanning the sky... then from out of no where... a UFO drops down and eats me. Yeah I was really upset at that time. Finally get to Limbus... and we wait. Get in to Limbus and have a crappy time in there... lol more death. Oh well.
In the last few moments of Limbus it's being discussed in LS what the morning is going to entail. And come to find out 3 members need WS NMs. So I offer up my assistance. And for the most part we have enough people who need NMs and have offered to help. Limbus ends. Warp... change jobs... out we go.
PT consists of: Damita, Germ, Foofighter, Redrock, Lenglus and I... (I think that's how you spell Leng's name.) After some really fast fights and hop skips in between, Redrock now has Black Halo, Germ has Evisceration and Foo has Empyrial Arrow... way to go guys!!
This led us up to awesome Sunday Event of getting five Optical Hats!! In alliance we have many members... Foofighter, Kriist, Lucylittle, Arezael, Zethren, Damita, Redrock, Zanderhizien, Mr. Ekin, Ishaella, Klank, Lavi, Ivalice, Germ, Galadrien, and I. Four NIN tanks, three WHMs, one BLM, one BRD, one RDM and several melee and a PLD. Now those of you who have Hakutaku experience are probably shaking your heads and saying how pathetic with only one stunner no way can that be done. Us Flying Fish eat our Wheaties in the morning cuz we ate one Firaga III... others were either stunned or silenced out. And that Firaga III didn't deter us nor make us sweat since he went down fast. Galadrien got her hat.
In between the first and second pop some Jawa NM was up... we took it down no problems and got some cool WHM/RDM drop. I can only assume that we'll be heading back to visit that NM to outfit the rest of our crew.
Second pop went to Zanderhizien... A really early Firaga III that went off took out Arezael. ><; poor guy has some bad luck some days. Kriist steps in to take up the challenge of the tank standing opposite of Foo. Second Hakutaku down and Zander got his hat.
Third pop... lmao... this one got interesting... I think the FFXI community has to come up with more words other than "pop"... since it's used in two different functions. We say "pop" when a puller is out to bring in an xp mob and whatever it is that a pt is xp'ing off of decides to respawn. Making it either possible to be pulled if the puller doesn't have a mob yet or to warn the puller of potential aggro when coming back with a mob. The other way we use "pop" is when it comes to NMs that have to have something traded to a ??? in order to spawn the NM for the fight. Well... lol imagine you will the fun when Red asked if he could pop the NM. At that second the area was clear. He ran up to the ???...
Red: ready?!
Alliance: yep!!
Million Eyes spawns...
Alliance: pop!!
Red: Okay!! (pops Hakutaku...)
LMAO
A minute of chaos and humor starts. We lose two tanks right away... lol but have two more NINs to face the challenge. Back on track with the mob dead and us concentrating on Hakutaku. NM dies... Red gets his hat.
Pop four and five went pretty much text book and Arezael and Klank got their hats.
The humor with the fourth pop was that Arezy right after his hat dropped, he had a lil issue. Somehow his PC was locked in on run. And he was locked on targetting with Zander... rofl... All I see on my screen is Arezy inching closer to the cliff. People are giving advice to him to get him back control. Nothing. More inching closer. lmao... A few more steps and Arezy drops off the cliff into aggro land ><... In confusion I shoot out the recommendation for someone to invis him and you hear it then come from like four different mages. I had a similar issue last week and a quick force DC brought me back into control. So he force DC's and gets back into control.
Poor Klank... he got his hat as well but had absolutely no humor in his pop. Other than me making him random against himself to make sure that it was in fact his turn.
lol... just want to say two things after an awesome Sunday event. THANK YOU to my LS for making sunday events successful and fun times. I look forward to doing Swift Belts this Sunday!! ^^; And Foo... omglmao at the way your sprite screams when he dies... it really sucks when you bite it but there's just so much humor do you dying... LOL
