I was pting in Yuhtunga Jungle today for a bit..and got invited to a party. The party setup was like this:

MNK/WAR= Pheebe
THF/WAR ( i think it was war sub)= Zeven
SMN/WHM= Blue something xD I don't remember but it had blue
SMN/WHM= Me
DRK/WAR= Sbbs i think was the first 3 letters.

I mightve forgoten someone oh well but back to topic. Zeven goes "Hey Sbbs you are going to be tank"
me: (i was just giving advice >.>) "DRKS can't tank"
Zeven: "Yes they can"
"No they can't they have crappy defense, they are goina just make us (other smn and i) use more mp than usual, we are going to run out"
"Well he's going to tank now"
"ok w/e"

Later on Pheebe goes "I can tank" Pheebe was a good player..so I have nothing against her OR the drk"
DRK: "Yeah, I can't tank"
me: "I know..not to be mean but DRKS have bad defense"
Zen: "Canitoch, shut up. Have you even PLAYED DRK before?"
"No, but I have partied with a DRK who tanked and they kept loosing alot of hp"
"Thought so so STFU"

He later told me his DRK was 50...I don't know if DRKS can tank at higher levels or not..but this guy was just a prick and became disrespectful to Pheebe.

She later on left..and they booted me cause I said I was goina go once I level.

*sigh* That makes what..like 6 people on my blist? :/

zeven is one of the oldest ppl on my FL....
first BST i ever met... his bats kept turning against him in VD and it was funny... but funnier was the time when he went AFK or something and we straight up killed his bats.... hahahaha good times..... one of my few memories from VD as a blm

but i havent seen him recently, so cant say much really
 
Hey Its a post about me lol ^^

As the leader of a party(which alot of people refuse to do) the number 1 thing I wanted to do for my group was get exp. I really dont like to waste peoples time. So thier wasnt alot of people to pick from so I put a pt together to at least get us some EXP. Never did I say a dark could tank, But knowing that mandys out side of kazham dont hit really hard im sure they will do alright. We had enough mana to compensate for the amount of hp being taken away. So we did that and after you left everything started going good ^^. And the reason I Let you go was because after the first fight you said... "After I lv I gtg im 300 Tnl." I have no respect for people who join partys just for 300 exp, you waste peoples time and make them look for a replacement. That right thier was a major sign of disrespect to the whole party. So please stop posting about me and usless stuff cause I never disrespected you in anyway.

drks can tank at lower levles, but once you leave the jungle(32 ish) they really cant. But if you are in the jungle fighting the little bitch mandies, drk/war/MNK/ NIn can all solo tank.. Nin doesnt need a backup tank for the jungle

Yah I had a drk tank in the sea serpent groto area. It was a cool fast xp party. I actually didn't think it would work at first but it did.
 
Uh oh, Zeven attempted to do something outside of the box... burn him!

If I don't have my Zeven's mixed up the one I knew probably checked the MNK and the DRK's gear and determined who would have been the better tank.

Instead you had to try to sound incredibly smart with some rhetoric about cookiecutterism and you look silly.

Also don't be that prick who announces they will leave in 300xp when they level. I would boot you too, healer or not...
 
ANY melee/war can tank in the jungle. In fact if you asked the drk to compare his current def to a war's current def it was probably within a couple points. You know what you need to tank in the jungle? Provoke. And a healer. I've drk-tanked as high as gustav tunnel when the need arose, having the mnk and drk split tanking (voke off each other) is how you should do it in that case. Of course the party has to work together...

Haha speaking of voking off each other, that's how me and Vyyk tank as BLMs. Just cast something outrageous and juggle the damn thing back and fourth. Lower levels of course.

Maybe I misread the OP but this seems to be completely wrong.

How did BlackMage try to sound "incredibly smart" or give any "rhetoric about cookiecutterism"? He was just expressing his displeasure with the party he had, and said that he thought it could have gone better if they had a tank that could take hits better.

It sounds to me like Zeven was very short with Backmage and didn't try to listen to what he had to to said, instead he went with what he wanted, possibly hurting the party's exp. He also didn't listen to the Drk, who apparently said that he was unable to tank. That doesn't sound like a very good party leader to me. But I wasn't there... so maybe there is something that I missed.

And Prince... I think I've seen you doing that with crabs in S. Gusta... but maybe I was wrong. Either way, I thought it was funny as hell seeing the crab running back and forth.^^
 
I also should point out...

Darks can tank if they know before hand and gear for it. Any dark is not gonna be a very good tank compared to a tank class. Add in him not being geared for it makes the situation alot worse. Sword and shield, food, vit gear are a must.

In other words if he aint rdy with the gear and food, prob better off not doing dark tank.

Half the party was LS members... Goes to show you what happens when an LS trys to go out for a nice quite time in "The JUNGLE." The Dark is my ls buddy. His main is Whm and prolly dont know as much as I do in the field of melee(Been playing since US Release), So of course with all the rumors and whatnot about darks and thier sucky defence blah blah of course hes gona say "I dont wana tank" ; ;. That doesnt change a thing, At this lv it really doesnt matter, and anyway Im his friend and if I want him to tank hes gona tank anyway lol. But anyway I listened to him and so I got the monk girly who didnt communicate at all to us.

Its just that.... well Have u ever come across a BLM or a mage type of person that comes in ur party and tells you how to run ur party and what and what not to do....when thier only job is a Mage Type.... Its annoying.

Im not a bad Party leader. All the desisions I make I let them know and are what I think is best for the group.

In this post I mean no Disrespect to anyone. And I hope this clears things up so you can have a better understanding of what happened.

All I said was that drk's had crappy defense and couldn't tank. How do I know this? I pted with one before and he was the main tank and got beat up like none other. That's when I learned they couldn't tank. Plus..I wasn't getting in depth on why they can't tank. I wasn't bossing ANYONE around.

If any type of tank wasn't voking..and I'm a mage, I can't say "you gotta voke" cause I'm just a mage job?
 
BTW: Why did Pheebe leave? I don't know, she just told me you guys disrespected her.

If you want to know why, talk to her.
