So what are your biggest pet peeves?

-People who are not in the military that wear and show off fake dog tags... I wear mine proudly every day but I don't flaunt them or anything like that. I keep my chain around my neck with the tags usually under my shirt. I can't stand fake tags and especially when they don't have the double chain and put both tags on a single chain instead. I feel like screaming. That and being in the service myself, take a slight offense to it. It is like watching that shit on screen movie Alien vs Preditor 2 and the military forces they had in that movie. American flags on the wrong side, ACUs that are the marine color pallet, the screaming eagle patch without the airbourne tab... Gah!!! Now I am getting all angry face again ~_~;

oh yeah.. Combat medics lead the way >_>! hehehe!

My biggest pet peeve, is people complaining about their pet peeves.
Icewolf is corruption of "lol" -- or was that "lulz"?

My dad refused to wear his after bootcamp except when on duty - I never understood why until he told me what they were for. I think I was 11 when he told me.

My dog tags have always given me comfort.. as weird as that sounds. When I was in basic training, medic school and out in the field, there were several times where I felt as if I was losing myself. You go through a lot of mental shit during these times. I would stop and ask myself who was I trying to be if anyone. Was I trying to prove anything, and if what was happening was real. It always brought me great comfort to feel and hear the metal of my tags against my chest. They would remind me of who I was and what sort of life and sacrifices I was making for myself and brought me ease. There is a haunting side to them as well, for as Tristam had mentioned when he asked his father. As a combat medic, they remind me of what I have been through and what I must do as both a soldier and a front line health care provider for my brother and sister soldiers.

Working as a customer service rep for an insurance company, one of my biggest pet-peeves is people who call in for information or insurance quotes, but acting as if they're doing ME a favor by calling.

Example: Thursday I get a guy calling in who received a notice saying he could get up to a 35% discount on his auto insurance. I ask him for his name and he tells me that information is irrelevant to the quote, I tell him i need his date of birth and license number, and he gets huffy and confrontational because all he is asking is a quote.......why do people like him call in-bound customer service people to harass them? do they get their jollies off of it or what? Needless to say i hung up on the guy after i told him that we are not here to take his insults or bad attitude. XD

I hate the people who think that the sales people in a store are your personal tech support. My job is to sell shit, I can, and often do, help customers with some problems; but it's not my fuckin' job to sit there on the phone with you for two hours explaining how you're supposed to hook up your DVD player using the supplied cables instead of selling like I'm supposed too. The manufacturer provides a manual which explains 99.9% of the questions I have to answer; they also provide a number for just that purpose. Yes, it's very complicated to match the yellow plug to the yellow hole, and matching the red/white plugs, that takes an engineering degree. I'd have a lot more symapthy for these morons if I hadn't been hooking this shit up when I was 6.

I'm also annoyed by people who latch on to a meaningless term and treat it like it's relevent information. Again, it's with customers, particularly with Sony TV's and their bravia technology; which is on every fucking TV Sony makes. Conversations usually go like this:

customer: what's the price on the sony bravia?
me: which one?
customer(serious): the bravia
me: ... seriously, which one?
customer(still serious): the bravia

Reminds me of the place I work at. We install windshields in cars, and I need basic information to provide a quote, such as the year, make, model and body style of the vehicle. A two-door car does NOT mean two doors on each side. Hachbacks and coupes are not the same thing where autoglass is concerned.

The worst are big rig drivers. They NEVER know what they have.
"It's a freightliner conventional cab".
"Okay, freightliner makes 20 of those. Which model is it?"
"....."

The other big peeve of mine is people who don't know whether or not their mirrors auto-dim, or if they have a rain sensor. You think your wipers automatically change speed because of.. magic?

Lmao Baj, I get that shit on a daily basis. Or people who come in asking for a cable for their camera:

Ok what kind of camera do you have?
It's the Canon Powershot
Which model?
The Powershot
etc...

I hate recieving e-mail jokes/chain letters/urban legends/fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd. Fuck anyone that want's to forward spam.

same thing but with texing.. people that send a tex that has been fwd so meny times you dont even recive the whole message in one message.

If you cant send me a personal tex, then dont.

Not everyone gets free texing

I hate Emos. They're all spoiled little bitches who get told no once by their parents and suddenly they hate the world and think it's a miserable place that's out to get them.

There are people out there with a lot worse lives who still greet everyday with a fucking smile and these little bitches get depressed when mommy and daddy won't dish out 20 bucks. Fuck, they piss me off so fucking much.

When people put empty containers and jars back in the fridge. Or when people open up more than one of the same thing (eg., two Heinz ketchup bottles).

pet peeve i've developed over the years...

people who say they're old when they're really not(read: I'm talking to you 20s people)

Old to me is like 60 and up, getting older isn't a bad thing regardless

people who say they're old when they're really not(read: I'm talking to you 20s people)
That's a good one. Old to me is I guess 30-35 and up. I mean you're not decrepid, but you're not a kid anymore. One or two of my stupid friends thinks they're such hot shit and that they're "old and wise" because they're like 23-24. It's a fuckin joke too because in reality, they're pretty fuckin stupid.

Another pet peeve of mine is parents who push their kids on you. I understand you love your child and they are your world, but they’re not MY world. I’m tired of hearing people blather on about every little thing their mini-me demon spawn does.

  • I don’t care that he took a poopsie in the potty all by his wittle self.
  • I don’t care that he “accidentally” put the cat in the microwave and it was just aDORable. Ok, well I do care about that, because the cat deserves better and you need to keep a better eye on your kid.
  • When your kid starts randomly talking to me on the train (ever heard of not talking to strangers?) I don’t want to talk back. Egging your child on to tell me his life story and identify for me all the letters on the sign doesn’t endear him to me, it annoys me. That nervous laugh is me restraining what I really want to say because hearing your kid cry uncontrollably over nothing while you ignore him is even worse than whatever he’s doing now.
  • It’s not cute when your kid blurts out FUCK. It makes you look bad.
  • Don’t let every conversation you have devolve into talking about your kid. When I ask you for financial information for my boss there’s no need to waste my time going on about how Timmy just learned how to count to 3.
  • No, I don’t want to see a picture of your kid. The inappropriate amount of pictures you have on your wall at work is more than enough.
  • If you start rattling off stories about your kid, don't get shitty when I meet them with stories about my dog. My dog is my kid. "Your kid is sick? Yea, my dog is sick too, he woke me up hacking at 3 am then barfed a load of kibble in my hair."
  • I don’t need to hear about every little accomplishment Sally has had in life. Aww, she graduated kindergarten? Fascinating. I had a full scholarship to college, was in the top 5% of my graduating class and was an award winning majorette. Oh, you don’t care about my accomplishments? Oh, bitter irony.
For the record, I understand not ALL parents are like this, but I’m sure most are guilty of something like this at some point or another.

Brydan's rubbing off on you way too much, chica :D

jk, I dislike hearing about other people's kids too, save maybe my niece or my nephew. Because they are freakin adorable.

I had a guy at work ask me for a part (body part mind you) for a 00 Saturn.
Saturn has an LS model and an SL model. He did have his vin so I asked him how many doors her had and he said "I don't know, its my wifes car. What does it matter anyway?" -.-

So another of my pet peeves is people who don't pay attention enough to their surroundings that they dont even know how many doors are on the vehicle in their driveway everyday.

I have a couple pet peeves that royally piss me off. The first would be me eating dinner and someone trying to have a conversation with me. While I'm eating I'm mostly reflecting on the day that had just passed and thinking what the next day might bring. Now of course the only time talking at dinner would be ok is if I was on a date and I wanted to carry a conversation.

The top pet peeve would have to be doing anything that I find inefficient. For example, going on vacation and having the plans in chaos and trying to find a place to stay when my friend told me a million times over that he's got it taken care of. Another would be at work trying to get a project done and then having to backtrack a few steps since the person training me forgot those steps or is just plain retarded. (Great trainer eh?)
