So what are your biggest pet peeves?

Non-work related:
-Slow Driving

I don't think I could be any more clear about my agreement.
Get the fuck out of my way with your 15mph in a 45mph zone. Let me drive like a retard and wreck my car, just get out of my god damn way.

This is quite entertaining to read. :x The majority of mine have already been said, but I do have a few scenarios from work. I work at a subshop, Quiznos to be exact, and I have never seen such stupid/rude/etc people in my life.

1.) Customer's Ignoring You
Me: "Hello, how are you?"
Customer: *does not acknowledge you*
Do I want to make your sandwich at this point? no. Is it really that hard to say something to me? I'm trying to be nice -.-

2) Stupidity
On the Quiznos Menu, we have categories and underneath, the subs you can order. The absolute most common mistake is under our category "Premium Steak Sub" followed by Prime Rib Cheesesteak, Black Angus Steak, etc.
Me: "Hey,how can I help you?"
Customer: "I'd like to get a Premium steak sub please."
Me: "Which one?"
Customer: "The regular size."
Me: "No... which sub would you like!?"

3) Taking Way too Long to Order
A customer has been waiting in line for an incredibly long time. When they finally get up to the counter to order...
Me: "Hello, how may I help you?"
Customer: "I need a minute."
... YOU DO? (This also includes people who talk on the phone before ordering, or holding other customers up by doing this when they don't know what they want.)

4) Lazy People
This in turn, makes me have to work harder to pick up the slack... No I don't get payed enough to do my job x2. If you can't work and just end up taking up space, why show up?

One of my personal favorites was this person that worked at a Publix Deli. She orders a cookie with her meal. Fine, np. Ten minutes later, she returns to the counter wanting a refund. Why you ask? because it was too sweet.
Me: *What would you possibly want a cookie to be!? bitter?*

Non-work related:
-Smoking (Yes, I'm glad you can't smoke in restaurants in GA anymore)
-Slow Driving
-Tractors, etc. driving down the road. (Big problem where I live. Old farmers taking their stupid tractors down the road at 10mph and you can't pass them *or the person in front of you won't pass them*. Why not pull over and let all the cars go past you?)
-People pretending to use his/her cellphone. (No, using a cell phone does not make you any more cool. If you don't have to use it, why take it out? I see this a lot at college in b/w classes, and they are obviously doing absolutely nothing on that phone.)

I had no idea you worked at Quizno's. I have yet to eat there.

My only pet peeve outside of work with people is those who are so cold are so conservative. Pop a smile once in a while, it'll do you some good. On the flip side, it's not that I get annoyed by people spilling their life stories, it's just that I don't know what to say to it. I smile and nod along.

I worked at a Dairy Queen for 2 years and customers would come in and ask for an ice cream. That's like going into a Subway and asking for a sub and having your money ready. We would have to ask them which one, which size, which flavour, etc. What's even worse is when you get "That's not how the ice cream truck does it" response.

Another one would be "Do you realize your charging $5.16 for frozen milk?" I responded with "Do you realize that I'm just the cashier and I'm not the owner in charge of pricing?" Plus, that's the price with tax. On top of that, your getting the biggest dessert there (Brownie Earthquake) which is ice cream, 2 brownies, hot fudge, marshmellow melted on top, with ore crumbles and then whiped cream. That's like 5 extra condaments on top, what the hell do you expect? For it to be $2.99? Ughh!!

But to be honest, I think I'm a really good people person and it's something I pride myself on. When ever I see someone having a rough time I do what I can to help them out

Thats cause your Canadian, these Americans won't understand.....

Please don't bomb me.

A few more from today...

-People who waste my damn time. I was supposed to visit yet another new doctor today (medical problems, don't ask). That's all well and good. The appt was setup and they gave me the address so I could find the place. I found it easily and got there 20 mins before my appt time. The door's locked so I assume the doc is on lunch break. Then 5 minutes past, then 10, then 15 and I'm wondering wtf is going on so I call the phone number on the door. Turns out they gave me the wrong office, or the wrong date, whichever you'd prefer. He has two offices, one where I live and one a while away. He's only at the office where I live on tuesdays. So now I've taken half a day off work for nothing, have to spend my entire day and night today catching up for the lost time, then I get to do it ALL OVER AGAIN tomorrow. Lovely.

-People who call me "ma'am" on the phone. This is related to the medical problems mentioned above. My vocal cords are all jacked up right now which makes my voice higher than it should be. I can understand the confusion if it's a random telemarketer or someone who has no idea who I am. But the fucking receptionist at the doctor's office?? She has my VERY MALE NAME right in front of her and she STILL called me "ma'am". I wanted to reach through the phone and punch her in the face.

-Subway sandwich packaging. Do I really need 80 feet of paper for my foot long sandwich? Do I really?

I got a 12'' grilled chicken sub last night and when I unraveled it, it was upside down and the tomatoes fell out and I had to stuff it back in. And it was "for here." I didn't need 2 papers and a bag and a tray to walk 5 feet...

I cant stand people who dont understand that there is a line somewhere for a reason.

Sure there are stupid situations like some asshat just standing there not doing their jobs, but when me and 3 other tellers are busting ass getting things done as fast and friendly as possible, then some jerk walks up and sighs loudly and complains about the wait, did it ever cross their mind to NOT COME at lunchtime? or NOT COME 5 minutes to close?

If you come during a rush time, expect a wait! I dont care who you are and where your from, if its a rush, theres gonna be a wait.

Oh, and valley girls

I think I know my biggest one yet:

I hate condesending and smartass people. Man or women, right or wrong, no matter what position, I can't stand them. What's even worse is when people cheer them on. THAT'S WHY I always hated the damn rate up system on here. THAT'S WHY I hate the flameboard. THAT'S WHY I always stick up for the underdog because I believe in second chances and that people can atone for mistakes.

In men, I tend to see it in the classic jock guy when he's with his buddies. When he's alone he's a decent guy, but turn around and throw the hats and jerseys on, they're assholes most of the time.

In women, some of them are just conservativly cold. This happend a lot in highschool. Not to me, but I corrected some of my lady friends to not do that.

These type of people upset me and make me want to slap them behind their head.

This happened to me monday? I think it was. It was my day off of work and I'm just about to sit down to eat some lunch. I get a call from my boss saying that his other employee who was supposed to be working decided to call in for a person day 5 minutes before his shift started.

That is what irritates me if you plan on calling in work to take the day off don't fucking do it 5 minutes before your shift starts because now the other person who had no intentions of working has to get read and be there within 5 minutes. I don't know if this would bother others but I ended up not eating any real meals that day and that just put me in a bad mood.

Says the person with Judge Judy as an avatar...

People of a higher rank, I'm talking like one rank higher, that tell me to get someone else to help me with a job just so I won't ask them. I'm specifically talking about being that guy that directs aircraft while they're on the ground, more or less being the pilots eye's around their entire aircraft. But to do this I need two people to stand near the tips of the wings as safety observers. It's not a hard job, it doesn't even take that long. And after we're done, we can go home! So why the hell do you have to avoid it so damn badly? And don't complain to me about asking you to go out there. I'm going to be out there in the damn heat too, so don't fucking complain to me that you want to stay inside where the a/c is.

And people who are bothered by something and feel the need to change the world around them so they won't have to deal with it, even though they're in the extreme minority. Turn around, think about something else, do something instead of bothering the rest of us with shit that we really don't care about. It's not hard, I do it all the time 'cause I hate to bother people and I'll feel selfish if I do. It's not the end of the world if you have to deal with something slightly annoying. There are more important things to worry about.

I hate when customers who have no intentions of shopping at your store ask you to break a $100 for them... Pisses me off.

Ok I don't know if any of these, or indeed my BIGGEST FUCKING ANNOYANCE IN THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD have been mentioned yet, but I'll mention them anyway. Why? Because I feel that, although the other annoyances aren't that important, my BIGGEST FUCKING ANNOYANCE IN THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD is so fucking irritating, and shows so much fucking ignorance, that it cannot be ignored, and cannot only be me who finds this bullshit annoying.

1) (THE BIGGY) INCORRECT USE OF THE WORD "THEN"; eg: I'm better then you. -
This mother-fucking show of complete fucking ignorance, which I see every day at least 20 times in ffxi, pisses me off beyond belief. I actually want to scratch my fucking eyes out every time I see it. Why then? WHY? I see people use "then" wrongly more than "than" correctly. Please, for the love of Christ, someone explain this to me. Why do people use the word "then" instead of "than" when it's just plain wrong? ... moving on...

2) Hypocrites - People who will tell you one thing, and then do the complete opposite, thus contradicting the original concept of the agreement/conversation, and cementing themselves as a hypocrite.

3) Thieves - Not much more needs to be said about it really.

4) Mind-blank - When you see a thread about a list, and think "OMG I have like 800 things I could add to that, and then hit reply, and remember like 3 of them."

5) Mini-barfs - Those little fucking occasions when you through up in your mouth, and it goes straight the fuck back down, and you feel the need to tell the closest person to you about what just happened.

6) Uber-sneezes - Everyone loves a good sneeze, but fucking hell do I hate it when you sneeze and shit from your nose goes ALL FUCKING OVER youself. Not good.

7) Stubbing Toes - Painful shit, painful shit.

8) Picking your nose and making it bleed - everyone does it, don't even lie.

9) Info-mercials - "But wait, there's more!" Fuck off.

10) Tripping over nothing in the street, and trying to stop yourself falling over, and failing...and looking around in the hope that nobody saw you...to find about 20 people staring at you, smirking...

11) Foreigners answering phone calls to helplines - call me racist if you want, I want to speak to someone who speaks my fucking language when something doesn't work... and by speak my language, I mean more than 5 words without having to have me repeat everything I say 3 times.

That's all I've got so far...there'll be more

lolirony ;p

lolirony ;p

He got on a tangent and was typing so fast those extra letters just "appeared" there.

About the forgeigners... if anyone has called Qwest customer service they understand, they have a call center in like the phillipenes, or Mexico, where they all have that strong spanish accent. They also train them to say "Thanks so much" and "Thanks so much" (No joke, i heard it 5 times in one sentance). I asked to speak to a supervisor and was just sent to another tech person, yelled that "I NO CAN UNDERSTAND YOU COMPRENDE?", in which i was finally transferred to the states where I had the nicest IT person ive ever meant. God just fucking pay 6.75 an hour to have people sit down in the states, please!

Thats another thing, I mentionted I had called the day before, and went through all the basic steps, (Im a computer guy, i never call until im positive its a situation on their end) and the stupid IT people keep putting blame on me, saying its because my phone cord is too long (Its 6 feet, they say 5 feet is maximum.. HAH), saying my house is too old (Have had service for over 4 years), and every time I call they still run me through the same BS steps... Just take my word and run your tests because im positive that you will find the problem on your end /sigh /endrant

Bigbroon you cursed 7 times in that first paragraph. That shows me you secretly love it when I use "then" in the wrong context.

Curses, foiled! Only you Auron, everyone else, I hate it :P

Oh and yes, I know the correct spelling would be throw, as in "throw up", or "throw a ball," I'm not the only person who loses their train of thought and spells shit wrong when they're going off on one :P. I think my grammar/punctuation/spelling are pretty decent actually.
