I hate low level leveling..

I love leveling low jobs, 4 levels in a few hours, its like istant gratification. I personally can't get enough of Qufim.

._.;

So because he's new and it's Qufim and there is a power level he's exempt from checking NPC's/AH to get the bare miminum needed to play his class correctly? Bullshit. I may be an elitest but that's just stupidity. All you carebears who "feel" for gimps like that can baby sit him in a party then and people who actually give a shit about learning their jobs can have a better time.

Basically, yes. How is he supposed to know any better if he lacks the information to come to an educated decision? A great many people playing this game never played an MMO before and don't know exactly what to expect. They don't realize there are communities like QCDN or information databases like wiki and Alla unless someone takes the time to inform them. Really, all it takes is five minutes to say, "Hey, Noobie Mcnooberson, go to ffxiclopedia.org and use it to find anything you need about FFXI. Search for barfira and it'll take you right to a page filled with info including where to buy it from an NPC and how much it costs." And voila, you're started the assimilation process for a valkurm dunes noob. In the next lesson, I'll teach you how to turn an arrogant know-it-all noob into an attentive tool for the sharpening. Stay tooned! (PUN!)

I solo'd my RDM on virt to 34 (37 when I get off my ass sometime.) Good exp, extremely easy with Gravity, you should try it until the party's get higher tier with more exp/hr. You can probably manage to get more exp/hr soloing than party's until maybe 51 if you get a good merit-type party at that level.

Goblin Pets are just awesome like that.

I agree. SE made the game so fucking easy, yet people still fuck up. I don't understand WHM's who suck. All it includes is spamming mother fuckers with heals.

Yes, "spamming mother fuckers with heals," is very mp efficient, and doesn't pull hate at all. Oh wait, this in fact what most new whm's do, and not what most higher level whm's do, ie. regens, haste, and not cure bombing.

Being without Barfira 3 levels after it's available is not exactly as "gimp," as not having Cure IV, Cure V, or a Hauby 3 levels after they are available. He's rank1, a fucking new player, and I suppose you were fucking PERFECT your first play through on your first job. Let's be honest FFXI isn't exactly seeing an influx of new customers. Keep running off the newbs just because they don't know/aren't as familiar, and bitching them out until they don't want to play, rather than explain or correct them. What the fuck is the problem with saying "Hi, I have this job at 75, or am pretty experienced with it, would you like some pointers?"

You must be new here.

Like I give a shit, lol. Didn't you quit? Post some more one liners, or pictures of doritos.

I used a Sipahi Jawshan alllllllllllllllllll the way from level 59 to 69, when I donned my Hauberk.

A pretty decent alternative. *Palides uses Addendum: Forum* Not wearing a Hauby/Hauberk 3 levels after it's available, is more gimp than not having barfira at 20.

It got the job done, and while I didn't have the ACC+, I was still hitting almost every swing, and I didn't have to cope with an Evasion Down.

Peti for TP and Sipahi for WS, would also be a viable Hauby til Hauberk alternative. [But I'd rather just get the Hauby. ^^]

Really, there is no excuse for not at least having a Haubergeon or Scorpion Harness, depending on job. They're pretty damn cheap nowadays for the decent stats that they give, farming isn't exactly hard, it's just alot of the FFXI playerbase is fucking lazy.

Glad so many people are ok with someone not only missing one of the cheapest basic spells, but that the guy actually lied about not having it in the first place. GG.

Again, I'm glad that you don't care/remember what it was like when you were new. This is not the easiest game to get into, even with resources like wiki/alha/bg/whatever. Perhaps he was a bit embarrassed when the spell was asked for, so he avoided the question? Get off your fucking high horse. OMG A SHITTY QUFIM PARTY, ITS THE FUCKING END OF THE WORLD!!!

I'll stay right on it, thanks. When I was new, sure, I was nowhere near as well geared as I am now. But I had the bare essentials, Hagun, Haubergeon, etc.

- Historically more expensive than Hauberk.
- Was HELLUVA lot more expensive than Hauberk when I bought it.
- Was fully intent on burning through 59-69 when I bought it.
- Shit happened that prevented said burning.
- Nobody I ever partied with had a problem with it.
- Did BCNMs in the Jawshan with no problems.
- I don't intend on leveling NIN, SAM, or any other jobs that can use the Haubergeon over Hauberk past 37.

So it wasn't being lazy, it was more of an economy-driven choice.

Ok you guys know i dont post much but saying that its okay for a whm or anyjob not to have what it needs doesnt have anything to do with experience. The whole reason for having these things is to make your job eaiser ie what ever spells tools food clothes what ever .. and to say that just because they are new they dont know.. what about the pl that was with them.. Why didnt that person say something.. but all these pl's suck its just like someone said already it just makes for lazy players.. the ones that at 75 everyone is bitching about..and one more thing.. now this isnt about all the new players but a good majority of them dont take it to kindly when you try and help them out you get stuff like "pssht i know what im doing" or "My friend has a 75 whatever and they are plin me the whole way so i dont need any of that stuff" so i think the OP did the right thing dont perpetuate the ignorance just walk away.

Actually, when I started playing I always carried spells 5 lvls above what I was currently at and gear for my next lvl. Not everyone likes to fuck up a party from sheer ignorance. I like my high horse, it makes it easier to avoid dumbasses.

Rather than "walk away" from ignorance, taking solace in knowing you at least attempted to guide someone into the correct answer is better.

It shows you care, and you wouldn't be showing that expressly to the person to whom you'd be giving advice. It shows droves about your character versus theirs to the other party members, who might just end up running HNMs/Sky/etc with you later on.
