SE Windower, not working?

Found this over at a FEAR forum. I went in and disabled the so called HID-compliant devices but mine had different id's then the one shown in the quote. My FPS shot right back up to normal and I can still use my wireless keyboard and mouse. Hope this helps someone. Razz

Here is the solution for you :

Go in "Device Manager"
Expand "Human Interface Devices"

Disable all "HID-compliant device"
where Hardware Ids begin by :

"HID\Vid_046d&Pid_c041&..."

How will you know the Hardware Ids ?

- Right click on the device and select "Properties"
- Switch to Details Tab
- Select Hardware Ids Property in the drop-down list

That bumped my FPS to about 10.0.

Yeah i know. It works now, but I can't use my G Keys. SE better fix this

try disabling the things called "HID-Comliant Consumer Control device" also.

Basicly anything that starts with "HID" disable.
 
Mine's just a regular logitech keyboard/mouse bluetooth combo, everything still seems to work just fine on the keyboard and now my game runs smooth at max settings again so I'm a happy camper.
 
What bugs me atm with the windowed mode that it looks just crappy... either the bright colours are too bright and hurting and the rest is too dark... I tried the config given by SE and thats just too bright. And somehow is looks burry. Anyone has suggestions how this can be fixed :(?
 
Looks like emergency maintenance in 3 hours, one of the known issues is the USB thing, so hopefully they're taking care of this.
 
I have a G15 keyboard and a G7 mouse, but I'm not using them at the moment(traveled for holidays), I don't know what HID setting they're under. I'll have to check when I get back to them. Good to know there's a solution, but it sucks that you can't use some of the best stuff with the game properly yet.
 
Welp, After a system check, and finding 275 files that needed repairing(probably all my dats /cry).. and 5 Hours of wanting to chuck my laptop acress the room, The Official SE Windowed verion worked fine last night. -. -;

Thankfully, once I was able to log on there were no more problems, with lage or randomly DCing. Hope everyone else got their issues resolved.
 
Wow .. this did fix my problem too.. doubled my frame rate.

So... what exactly does this effect? I'm not up on the Gx devices ... whatever that means.

its working now. but i fail to see how having a USB keyboard and mouse would interfear with the game.
 
Well, Im still slightly laggy after disabling all the HID devices, but nowhere near what it was.
 
I'm really just afraid to do this update now. >.>; Sounds like it has brought nothing but trouble.

meh, dont be scurrred

SE always has bugs in their big updates, thats why there emergency maintenance today, prolly be another one before WotG comes online

When are you going home? and sure, but i think they'll fix it with the update
