SE Windower, not working?

Take Recast off of auto load. It crashes the game.

Is there some way I can just not use the gamma adjustment, because I think that might be what's fucking everything up.
You can set it to 0.0 in the configuration tool, but that's the only thing I know of.

I followed the advice on the web about gamma correction and it works fine now. Also old windower works but dual boxing makes the game sooo laggy >.> it's not bearable. I Guess I'll go back to old PC+Xbox "dual box".

Disable all plugins before trying?

Running a check files right now, if it doesn't find anything I'll try running the windower with all the plugins turned off. I don't care about windows or plugins or anything, I just want to be able to play the game.

Whatever, dude. Take my words out of context some more.

On topic: 3.3 is working finally.

mod please close this.

No problems with Check Files. Windower 3.3 works fine for me without plugins enabled. However, the game still doesn't run at all for me. I can't think of anything to do to fix it, and if I can't play the game right as the expansion comes out that's probably a sign that I shouldn't buy it. So unless I get this working in the next day or so then screw this game.

you run Vista or XP Rappa?

Well I took my plugins off autoload and everything works fine. TParty, Distance, and Timestamp seem to work still. I tried the official windower, and I set my gamma the way they said to in the FFXI config tool, but looked dark as hell. The in-game gamma thing won't even let me adjust it at all (whether using unofficial windower or official). I hit enter on it, and it lights up slightly, but then it won't let me adjust the bars at all (which all look like they are full...). No clue what's up with that. I tried changing the gamma back up to normal (in the config tool) and it didn't seem to change anything.

Updated video card drivers, still no-go. I've noticed that before it goes from pol to ffxi that my screen gets slightly brighter, which I assume is the gamma adjustment kicking in. This is also coincidentally right when my lag begins. Is there some way I can just not use the gamma adjustment, because I think that might be what's fucking everything up.

My game has been doing this for a week or so now, and I haven't even finished downloading this update. Hope I don't have any problems.

Mine's working just fine. I don't care for it that much, because they have the backlight on at all times, it's way too bright. I liked the look for the normal windower where shadows actually existed, people's names are like neon signs now.

If by fine you mean lagging my texts outside and 100% cpu usage, then yeah :|

That's what I'm having too...everything outside the game is lagged, but the game itself is working

Well I'm out of ideas. I defaulted the settings in the config tool and it still lags even on the Accept/Decline screen. My cpu's running at 12% with ffxi running and using 1/4 of its ram so it's not a pc issue.

Mine used to lag like that when I had winamp up, and I always had to shut down and wait 30 secs then reboot for the lag to go away, But it always didn't so I just dealt.

Is SE the only company on earth that still hasnt learn the term "Beta Testing"? Seriously now, how many major updates have gone as planned?

I know that no game is perfect, and that Blizzard messes up a lot too, but damn this is just bad!

Identical problem. I get this lag no matter what i open, even when i run the standard Fullscreen

I run Vista and cant get the game working.

3.3 runs fine, but lags so badly. Same with the SE Windower. Getting around 3-4fps in unpopulated areas. Going to try 3.3 without pulgins and then full screen.

EDIT: Nope, nothing seems to unlag the game.

I have the game running. It took literally 2 minutes for the person standing next to me to load on my screen. There are still 3-4 blue dots on my map that haven't loaded yet... gonna tinker with my in-game graphics settings and see if something fixes it. Still 15% cpu usage and plenty of ram, this is really frustrating.
