If it works like any other MMO, the server logs everything (and I mean everything), and these logs are purged every X amount of time. On the other hand, the client side logs are so when you pull up your chat log in game (cntl+F) and read those. THose are purged much more often, and are local...

As far as I can tell, the stars dont change enough to be visably obvious. That is, that Bright Yellow star will always be south (my prime navigation point). And so forth. If there is something more to it, it is very subtle, and cannot be more than a few degrees of variation. Btw, anyone else...
