Going to add my $0.02 I guess… The scores do seem very harsh on some PC’s but I don’t think the benchmark is complete garbage. Having played the Alpha build on an older PC, media laptop and a newer PC I can say the scores seem somewhat accurate. Of course the Alpha build was running at a low...

Alpha is over now :/ No date given for Beta start but I’m sure they’ll be adding a lot more testers.

Windows 7 Pro 64 Intel i7 920 @2.67GHz ATI Radeon HD 5850 High score: 4047 load time: 17613 Low score: 5293 load time: 16716

Bit of a necro bump but bear with me… some of you might find this interesting/useful So my old PC (3-4 years old): Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz, OC @ 3GHz 5.5GB DDR2 RAM 1GB NVIDIA 7950GX2 Couldn’t really handle the Alpha build all too well. It played but at around 5-15 frames per second...

hmm, hard to say since so little of the game has been discovered. whilst a few sites around have happily broken the NDA I think we'd have to stick to random speculation and the small titbits being drip fed to us from SE for now, after all none of the testers want to end up like Pookypoo XD...

i'm a little worried about the schools of magic i know we can only wait and see how it works out but it sounds like the crafting lvls from FFXI. as in you can lvl all schools to a certain point but could only be a master of one? maybe the schools of magic will also be based around the weapon...

1st of April... really? if they would of said the 2nd I would of believed them lol

plenty of time to upgrade my system (or get a PS3) by the sounds of things anyway...

from what I've found... there is no official start date for the ALPHA/BETA at all yet. 1st April has been mentioned for the ALPHA start date around the interwebs but the only source is someone saying "it's on the JP BETA forum"

haven't found any good translations yet but a people are suggesting different "stances" (like MNK's footwork i guess)

sooooo cute! linky

in other words if you got into the alpha/beta already (or only want to play the beta on PC)... dont use the code or apply again. since your latest application will be used. by the sounds of it though you should keep your code till the real release of FFXIV to get the in-game item. i was hoping...

I couldn't possibly tell you if I got in or not... *wink* I can however tell you my GF did. in case anyone was wondering we both filled in the application with more or less the same details. will play on PS3 and PC (average/good spec PC), EU based, 16Mb/s DSL, etc... nothing out of the...
