The question now is, can they actually salvage this game? Even with a new team it's going to take some major overhauling to bring it up to standard and start drawing people back in. It's also good to see that they won't start charging fees until everything is fixed.

This particular part here I don't really see happening. Fixing gear for people is some of the quickest easiest gil you can make in game. I constantly see people offering 2-3k (sometimes much more) for repairs that cost me a couple hundred gil to make mats for.

Band aid fix or not, it's still a step in the right direction. Whether or not people will use it as intended will depend on the individual and what kind of "tax break" you will get for listing an item in the correct ward. When they finally add a search option I think things will sort themselves...
