Well my love at least it's still optional in most states. In Canada it's against the law period! And yea the insurance companies have free reign over their rates. Personally I want it to be Government run but that's been up for debate for several years. I think it became illegal in the early 80's, iirc that's what my parents said.

If you own a vehicle that needs repairs and cannot be driven yet it has to be plated with an up-to-date sticker AND insured for you to keep it in YOUR drive way.

That's exactly what I'm getting at. Those companies just rape us (up here the rate is going up another 8% across the board when ours is due to drop) and line their pockets with our money. If we do make a claim god damn watch out cause your rates go through the roof. I've had friends who've been CANCELED after making their first claim. Nice huh.

I totally forgot to mention something last night.

Healthcare here is comparable to insurance anywhere. Why bitch that you're paying for some moron who gets himself/herself sick by his/her own doing when no matter if you use the devices available to you or not you'll never be reimbursed the money you've paid in. Much like insurance. You can pay in your entire life and never make a claim but when the end of your days come the end result is they lined their pockets with your money. At least with the Health Care they're not lining their pockets but using it for some good whether it's much needed improvements or some kid who needs a lung transplant.
