13 year old boy and 15 year old girl have a child?! WTF!!!

How about that pregnancy pact they had on the news last year?? A bunch of friends go out and have sex with random men including a 22 year old street bum just so they can all have kids and raise them together. When asked how they would care for the children....you guessed it they said WELFARE!

Except for the part where the pregnancy pact didn't actually exist. That story unraveled fast when reporters started looking into it. The principal was a little foggy on the details about how he first "heard" about it. Now it's just one of those bizarre cautionary tale urban legends meant to shame girls -- "They were so crazy they were fucking HOMELESS MEN!" like something out of Clive Barker's The Great and Secret Show.

I'm sure Juno and Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy had nothing to do with creating a backlash where some authority figure felt the need to find new ways to wag a finger and say "Keep your legs closed, sluts."

I'm not surprised the school district decided to look into their "no condom distribution" policy.

All discussion aside. I love how nearly every person who has participated in this discussion IF using "slang insults" to describe the teens involved only did so to the females. Sluts, whores... and specifically towards a female. This young girl may have been the town bike, most times that behavior is due to a lack of guidance and a solid MALE authority figure in the child's life. It's easy to call this girl a slut and a whore but lack of guidance and a respectful father figure in her life is more likely the cause of this behavior.

The boys involved are just as at fault at this young girl. Sure boys are "supposed" to be driven by sex but give me a break already.

EDIT: To add, if you think about the percentage of single mothers (regardless of age) in the last 20 years and how that number has skyrocketed. That SHOULD help people understand why the number of young girls are giving it up so easily. That's not an acceptable reason, but that's the psychology behind it. The importance of a father to her daughter is extreme. Deep seeded misunderstanding of how a girl is to be treated by the men in her life, she looks to her mother when there is no father around or the relationship with her father is lacking.

Just to be clear, I'm not part of that. My usage was mocking the "shame the slut" attitude, because I'm not big on blaming women for being sexual beings. That "Nice girls don't do it" taboo really needs to hurry up and finish dying.

That's fine. I wasn't pointing at any one person, just those who tend to attach slanderous names to females in such situations without giving any mention to the males involved in negative fashion.

Girls can't impregnate themselves.

Hurray for the Double Standard, which also needs to hurry up and die.

I don't care anymore. I'm fucking paying for this ++++'s "support" out of my wages. I really do not want it going to this sick fuck. I've seen dumbshits with a bit more common sense than this. Shame I have no control where my taxes go. Saying this I'm probably already paying for the boy's family's incoming support.

Fuck.

And all the immigrants.

13... 13... 13... You know, I can't remember exactly wtf I was doing at 13 years of age. I started having thoughts of girls at age 11, but even at age 13 those thoughts never included "I wanna stick my pee-pee into her special place". Hell, I liked girls back when I was in elementary school, though those were more along the lines of "She's cute, I like her" type of things.

Kids these days are fucked up. Plain and simple. While the girl was closer to the age I feel is more acceptable for younger teens to maybe start experimenting with their bodies, this boy.. is just way too fucking young. The girl was too young imo too. I can see 16-17 year-olds messing around within their age group, that's normal and natural to me. Anything younger than that is fucked up.

Seriously what the fuck is a 13 year old boy going to know about taking care of a child. He still is one himself. It'll be another 5 years, maybe 4 if he even understands just what the fuck he did. He's so young I doubt he cares about what he did. And why the fuck would she want to do that with a 13 year old. -_- The whole thing is just stupid.

Sneaky, I am glad things worked out for you. I hope you don't mind my asking if your parents are still together? But even so, that's just too freaking young. I'm getting close to 30 myself and I still don't have any kids. They're too damn expensive for one, and I'm still looking for that right woman secondly. So, meh. I have a decent paying job and everything and it's still hard to support myself, so I can't imagine supporting a wife and child on top of that.

I'm sure those parents were pissed as hell when they found out. Still raising their child and now they have to raise their child's child on top of that, for probably the next 3-5 years if not longer.

Almost forgot to mention, the parents of both children are doing such a fantastic job with the kids they have... -_- Now they get to start fucking up another life.

The reality is kids these days have more and more false or non-structured information, they're desensitized. Yes if the parents/parent are/is not offering education early enough, before our MEDIA and SOCIETY gets to these kids they're likely to develop the wrong ideals of sex and what sexual relations are about.

My 14 yr old niece is gorgeous, she looks older than 14 by far (which frightens me) she's much more mature than the average 14yr old girl and is more than aware of sex, sexual relations etc. The only thing that makes me feel comfortable about her hitting this age is just how incredibly smart and confident she is. She's watched her mother bounce around from relationship to dates, the difference being her mother is very independent and does not like "needing" any man and that's very well known. Because of this, my niece has witnessed this flip flop behavior from her mother and is shying away from it, that and she now understands she can do anything for herself and doesn't need a man to be something.

This is not as sick as the case in Michigan~ a 10 year old girl was taught a game by her older brothers friend~ Yes you can guess what that game was. The courts ordered her to go to the next state over to have an abortion.

This is false. No one can force you to accept any medical treatment or agree to any procedure in the US, even if you are a minor.

She's not a minor, she's a child. Difference in law, yes.

You don't understand do you~ The STATE LAW would not let her get the abortion in michigan. At the age of 10 the chances of her not having a c-section is nearly 0. Her body would suffer irreperable harm, and a good chance of death. Pregnancy would infact be seen as a serious threat to her life. A 10 year olds body is not made to delvery a 7lb baby. Mind you more babies are atleast 8lbs 21 inches long. Many 1st time mothers require stitches. This child would be ripped in two. Her family WANTED to get her the abortion, but the state would not allow a doctor there to do it. So the Judge allowed her to go out of state for the procedure.

A minor under the age of 12 can be given any procedures the parents sign for. It is believed that a child under that age will not fully understand what is being explained to them. Kinda like how children who kill someone are not put on death row.

Well this is the closest thing I can find about it: http://articles.latimes.com/1998/jul/18/news/mn-4813

Spoiler:
A judge on Friday blocked the parents of a 12-year-old girl who is six months pregnant by her older brother from taking her to Kansas for a late-term abortion.

Intervening at the request of prosecutors, Judge Pamela Gilbert O’Sullivan ordered the girl to undergo psychological tests before the court decides whether to allow the abortion. The judge ruled without explanation.

The state will conduct the psychological tests in the next two weeks, and another hearing will be held within 30 to 40 days, the judge said, barring the girl from leaving Michigan in the meantime.

Michigan has banned abortions past the 24th week of pregnancy since 1974, unless the woman’s life is in danger. The girl is entering her 28th week, and there is no evidence that she or the fetus are in jeopardy.

Prosecutors had asked O’Sullivan to at least temporarily block the abortion, saying that the girl had not been fully informed about the consequences of an abortion and that she isn’t convinced she wants to have one.

“If the child goes through with the abortion the parents want and the child’s not convinced about, there could be serious psychological consequences downstream,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Carl Marlinga, a Democrat.

Marlinga said the girl would be leaving the state to have a controversial procedure opponents call “partial-birth abortion,” in which the brain is suctioned out so that the fetus can be removed through the birth canal.

The law in Kansas is in dispute, but some insist it allows late-term abortions to protect a woman’s mental health.

The prosecutor acknowledged that the delay until another hearing was lengthy but said the state’s approach was “meant to slow down the process and allow a cooling-off period.”

Cathy Larkins, an investigator with the state social services agency, said the parents weren’t initially aware their daughter was pregnant or having sex with her brother. A doctor failed four times to realize she was pregnant, despite such symptoms as vomiting and difficulty eating, the investigator said. Another doctor made the diagnosis on July 6.

The girl’s 25-year-old cousin testified Friday that she tipped off authorities a day after consulting with the girl’s parents.

The girl and her 17-year-old brother slept in the same room with their beds pushed together in the family’s two-bedroom apartment, Larkins said.

Sexual assault charges against the brother will be presented to prosecutors next week, police said. The parents are “victims as much as the child,” and won’t face any charges, Marlinga said.

The parents didn’t testify at the hearing and refused to comment as they left.

Prosecutors had asked O’Sullivan to take custody of the girl, but the judge said she will remain with an aunt and uncle where she has been staying, and her parents will be allowed to visit.

then they allowed it (not "ordered it"): http://articles.latimes.com/1998/jul/25/news/mn-7071

Spoiler:
A judge cleared the way Friday for parents to go out of state to get a late-term abortion for their 12-year-old daughter, who allegedly was impregnated by her 17-year-old brother.

Probate Judge Pamela Gilbert O’Sullivan granted a prosecutor’s request to withdraw a petition to take temporary custody of the girl. The petition, which the judge granted last week, had barred the parents from taking their daughter to a Kansas abortion clinic until she underwent a psychological evaluation.

Since then, the girl has received mental health and medical evaluations, and she and her parents received counseling.

The girl is about 28 weeks’ pregnant. Abortion is illegal in Michigan after the 24th week unless the mother’s life is endangered, but Kansas permits it under certain other circumstances.

The parents’ attorney, Lauren Tomayko, said the parents and the girl will go to Kansas so she can be evaluated for an abortion. She declined to say if the girl would have an abortion. That decision will be made after the family meets with experts at the clinic, she said.

The parents and experts in Michigan who have seen the girl in the last week agree an abortion appears to be in her best interest, Tomayko said.

The girl’s parents have said they did not learn until July 6 that she was pregnant.

The medical risks of letting the pregnancy continue to term are higher than the risks of a late-term abortion, said Dr. Mark Evans, a Wayne State University medical professor who told the girl and her family about their options.

The judge turned down an Oakland County lawyer’s last-minute request to be appointed guardian for the girl’s fetus.

then she ended up having an abortion... http://articles.latimes.com/1998/jul/31/news/mn-8945

Spoiler:
A 12-year-old girl allegedly impregnated by her 17-year-old brother had a late-term abortion in Kansas, a lawyer for her parents said Thursday.

“She went through the procedure,” attorney Lauren Tomayko said. “There were no complications. She’s doing very, very well.”

Tomayko refused to say when the procedure was performed.

The girl was 29 weeks pregnant, or late in her seventh month. She was involved in a highly publicized legal battle to obtain the abortion. Two weeks ago, a Macomb County judge prohibited the girl from leaving the state. Last week, the judge lifted the ban, clearing the way for an abortion.

Tomayko said the family traveled to Women’s Health Care Services in Wichita, Kan.

Antiabortion protesters had been walking around the clinic, hoping to stop the girl from going through with the procedure.

Yeah, there's a huge difference between saying a judge forced a 10-year-old to get an abortion and the judge simply paving the way to make it happen because the kid wanted one and couldn't get it.

Exactly. I'm just saying there is no such thing as a court ordered abortion.

This (and the case from MI above) is exactly why theres always a huge argument about what we teach in 'Sexual Education' and when people need to start talking to their children about sex. Parents need to stop thinking "Oh other people need to do that, my child would never do that". Yes, they would.

Here in quiet little suburbia hell, in 8th Grade, when I was 15 years old one of my classmates got pregnant and carried to term. The following year, she got married to the 26 year old that impregnated her and throughout her highschool career they had 2 more children.

Look, I get that "back in the day" (hundreds of years back in the day...) as soon as you started bleeding, you started breeding. I get that. Does that mean its ok? Shit no it doesn't. Why can't we start talking to our kids BEFORE that happens? Why can't we just allow the nurses who teach "Sex Ed" in schools to just give them the down and dirty facts? People say its "Doing the parents job" but obviously, parents aren't getting the job done. You need to give the same talk to the boys as you give to the girls "This will fuck your life up", "If you're not careful, this could kill you", "If you don't protect yourself, it could do both" and "Just don't do it at all for a while". Anything other than a rushed, dumbed-down anatomy lesson and a hasty hand-out of expired condoms. It's just stupid.

I'm just happy to see we'll be getting away from the abstinance-only version of sex education. It's funny, because you'd think conservatives would be happy to see funding cut for a program that clearly doesn't work.

Bristol Palin recently gave an interview, and I think she's got plenty to say about how important it is to prevent teen pregnancy: "Of course, I wish it would happen in like 10 years, so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared, and have my own house and stuff. But he brings so much joy. I don’t regret it at all. I just wish it would have happened in 10 years rather than right now."

In my province, sexual education started in grade 5 (age 10-11) for girls, because this is when most girls started to get their periods. I know it can happen sooner now. They gave us a booklet about periods, sex, pregnancy, STIs, etc. We were told by our teacher not to show the boys the booklet, but I showed some guys anyways on the bus ride home, despite the protest of another female classmate. I never really have seen the big deal. If the girls were able to know about it, why not the boys? They're part of the whole sexual process after all... Then from grade 6 to grade 8, you would get one week of sexual education in the school year, with no segregation of the sexes. By grade 8, they knew that we knew if you put a penis in a vagina, you could get a STD or a child out of it, so they would start talking about other issues around sex. I remember one day the nurse asked us to bring in magazine/newspaper ads using sex for advertising means.

In grade 9, part of the Physical Education credit meant one month learning about health - including a unit on sexual education once again. A few girls didn't even know what blow jobs were at that age (This was 1999-2000, by the way, in a high school in a small town lol).

I personally had parents who taught me about sex when I was in kindergarten. My mom had just gotten into breeding horses, and seeing that she was a farm girl, she herself was subjected to this type of education lol. My mom woke my brother and I up at 4-5 am in the morning one day right before school to watch one of our mares give birth. She then purchased a video called "Where did I come from?" for us to watch, after she explained the mechanics of sex to us.

I am sure that some people would say that this is 'too young', but it was my mom's choice to teach her children at that age, and her choice of method. I can honestly say that learning about sex did not make me want to go out and try it for my own, like some critics argue will happen if kids know about it sooner, or caused any other problems for me that supposedly talking about sex sooner does to you - the fear of birthing a child was enough to keep me from experiencing it until I was old enough to be responsible for my own decisions.

That's about when I started finding out. Aunts and Uncles who are younger than my parents started having kids when I was young and I asked questions about "So.. how did that happen?" and they and my parents told me. My best friend, whom is expecting her first child (married for 4 years), in May grew up raising horses with her mother in Indiana and her explaination was pretty much exactly what yours was Zeph. I think thats prefect. And, no better way to put the fear of pregancy and willingness to abstain in a young person, than to let them watch the birthing process (be it human or zoological).

Lol my mom tells me, when the whole miracle was happening, she was crying (because she's sentimental like that), and she turned to me and said "Isn't this beautiful?"" I replied "This is gross".
