dont know about everyone else, but im pumped to see battlefield 1943 and bad company 2. more so the 1943. it will be a download only via xbox live, psn, etc. in june of this year. not sure about bc2 though.

thats been out for a while, for development anyway. but not many seem to really care /em points at himself. i havent tried it, but then again, i have no desire to try it. remaking the original is worth my attention. also, the sequal, to what i think as a "decent" shooter(some things need to be revamped) is worth a look too. im more interested in 1943 over BC2. BC, dont get me wrong, is a fun game. but the environmental engine needs to be toned down a tad. some things are just to easy to destroy. IE trees. most of what i look forward to in that is new maps.
as for 1943, i hope they, in essence, remake the original. im looking forward to planes, boats, and land vehicles. however, what made the original so.. well, original was the ability to drive the ships(carriers, destroyers). you were also able to man the large deck guns.

I just reactivated my xbox live subscription after a year. Battlefield 2 was my fav, catching up now on Bad Company... can't wait for BC2! <All right!>

So having played Battlefield Heroes, I can say..

The game is shit. All maps but one are fucking retarded, because of encouraged spawn camping thanks to some terrible design ideas that resulted in capture points being placed inside spawn areas. There are also massive imbalances between Hero classes, weapons, and abilities.

I had mixed feelings about BF:BC when it came out. I guess I was to use to the CoD 4 style of play and that doesn't work in BF, not in the least bit. I really sucked. I picked it back up a few weeks ago, a steal at 19.99 new, and have since traded in CoD4 and am not lookin' forward to MW2. After learnin' the BF style of play I don't think there is any goin' back to somethin' like CoD. I rented World at War today and found it just fuckin' awful in every aspect. So with that said, I'm with you, I'm foamin' at the mouth for BF:BC 2 and a tad bit excited for 1943. The only reason I'm not stoked for 1943 is because I hate, hate Conquest mode.

cod and BF series are 2 totally different monsters. i like both. but it depends on my taste and desire at the time of wanting to play. i love the fact that cod is alot of action almost constantly. but, when cod2 hit the shelves, i loved the fact that there were larger maps which went well with the ability for vehicles.
on the other hand, battlefield series have nothing but large open battles. tanks, planes, jeeps, etc. battlefield encourages squad movement as if it were realistic.
this is why im pumped for 1943. goes back to BF's original bloodline. i just hope they make the ships useable also like they used to have.

on the other hand, you cannot, not want, the new cod when it comes out. looks very promising. WAW was mediocre at best. dont get me wrong, ill play it non stop through a day, but its nothing that is a "must have" game like cod4 was and like MW2 is. now that treyarch isnt making it, it will most definately be much better.

as for bad company. as i said, i like the large maps. but, they need to tweak the environment engine just a little. im not really frothing at the mouth so much over battlefield as i am for MW2

Another Battlefield title has poked its head up for some air now. Looks like the team is startin' to slowly drag the curtain off of Battlefield 3. This was confirmed at an EA stock meetin'. Apparently the game is in a state where it's able to be played, somewhat, but they aren't plannin' to release it durin' the current fiscal year. Hopefully it wont be too close to BF:BC 2 and by too close I mean anywhere in the 6-7 month range.

You can just Google Battlefield 3 and get a decent amounts of results. I saw it on Joystiq a few days ago and skipped over it, not to much info. I did a Google search today out of curiosity and got a few bites.

i did that, but it seemed to be more along the lines of people assuming that BC2 was bf3. the one i saw the first time was an EA site...i think. wish i could fine it again. the reason i was looking for it was to see what systems it was for. mainly curious to see if its pc only or consoles only.

No information on what it's goin' to be on but here's the best I can do to show you it's not a BF:BC2 mix-up: http://www.techtree.com/India/News/EA_Confirms_Battlefield_3/551-103081-585.html

Finally got the opportunity to join in on this game a few weeks ago. Was givin' it time to see how I'd like it before I responded to your opinions. Maybe you played another build or maybe the BF series isn't your cup of tea but this game is fantastic. It's like a mini TF2, though I think it's far better. The only class problems I see is Gunners are OP. 150 HP, a shield skill that one even lv. 1 is friggin' uber, and a sniper rifle, I mean machine gun, pardon there, with 100 shots (who needs accuracy eh?). I almost forgot, they carry a Bazooka too. That's just too much, imo. Take away the shield skill and maybe, but a shield skill plus their HP pool is retarded, given how much max DMG is. That bein' said though, they don't ruin the game, at least for me. As far as the spawn dealio goes, I haven't been spawn camped yet. I have, however, been on the giving end but it was because the team was so awful they didn't have a single base and it wasn't their whole team, about half got caught up in the "git!". In that case, you get what you deserve. However, I've also been on teams like that but instead of spawnin' in a designated place I'd randomly spawn somewhere parachutin' down or on the maps BFE. Either way, it works out now unless you're on an awful team and even then it's easy to avoid unless you're a tard. The game does have one hting that is complete ass though, its matchmaking is on par with Gears 2's when it first launched. Add that without the ability to pick and choose your own server on a computer game and, well, that's pretty fuckin' awful.

Finally, BF 1943 is gonna hit the XBLA on the 8th! Can't friggin' wait. (Not sure about PSN but whatever day they update the store it will probably be there that same week.)

psn is usually on thursdays. which i believe will be the 9th. it was speculated that is was going to be the ninth but, only speculated. that was with the "release of the release date" that was posted on the internet. its good to know that they have a date set now. i can finally sleep

I tried the 1943 demo. It's good. It's at a good price point as well. It's got some advantages and disadvantages vs Warhawk, not quite as good in my opinion but that's a rough game to compare it too. I'd buy it if it had splitscreen but I don't believe it does so I'm afraid I'd get limited use out of it.

its mainly online multiplayer. and no splitscreen

I've been waitin' to see how long they let the matchmakin' stay messed up before I say how much I love this game. So, day two and it's still fuckin' atrocious. You figure by now DICE would get it, but they just don't. It's not -that bad- lookin' for yourself but forget tryin' to steadily get into matches with a squad of 4-5 people. Right now it's a craps shot. When Libara, Osyris, and some other friends got in a match together it was a blast. By yourself it's fun but Battlefield games are more fun with a group, imo.

The game has potential to be great. The set back is this bullshit server issue. Its a FPS, its on XBL, it has Battlefield in the name... How can you be unprepared server wise with those three things in mind. This is the worst launch of a video game i personally have experienced.
