2007 at an end, what Blu-ray do you have in your collection?

Well, I see in the "Who's Online" thing you are replying, so I guess I should just say now it doesn't matter to me two shits what your reply is because I know the context of my own posts, so this is a preemptive response to what I believe without a doubt will try to prove your point, but to no avail because you still think you know what I said. Good try though.

Ah, yes. Bajaratt. Defender of the internet.
Thanks for the title, do I get a badge and a gun?

This whole misunderstanding came from you creating context in my post that I did not infer in any way whatsoever. Even more so, not once did I quote you in any of my posts. Sure, the way you interpreted it is feasible, but wrong in the end.
So you're sticking with the "I was never talking to you, but only to Reeve" option. If so, you're hearing voices or seeing things that aren't there; he never mentioned the cost being a factor, only that he didn't want to buy something that would become useless. I'm the only one who talked about price, at all, in this thread; so your willingness to pay more could only have related to my posts; unless you're hearing/seeing things again.

Now this is where I say I am willing to spend more for entertainment. This is also where you create the context of what I say to fit into your previous statement, when in fact I was still referring to the fact that I will pay for both players. Everything after that is your misunderstanding of what I said to begin with.
I'm still not seeing any misunderstanding, you're still responding to me saying that the price of the LG player is the same as buying both by posting "well I'm willing to spend more for my entertainment." That's not responding to what I'm saying, the fact that you're willing to pay more for something is completely irrelevant when someone points out there's multiple ways to spend the exact same amount of money for the exact same benefit.

When you have the option of buying a $100 pen that writes in black or blue ink; or you can buy two $50 black and blue pens; a valid response is not "I'm willing to pay more for my writing." You're still spending the exact same amount of money, only you're looking dumb for saying something completely irrelevant.

I do applaud your efforts to try to keep this civilized, but in the end you resort to your typical degrading by the use of the word 'idiot'.
Sorry, I didn't realize calling an idiot an idiot was uncivilized; should I have used dumbass, retard, mentally deficient individual, stupid person? The expression used really doesn't matter, since they all carry the same meaning; idiot is just shorter. Your posts were unresponsive and your dodge at the end there showed a lack of intelligence; but apparently it's uncivilized to actually point such things out.

Just remember, not everything is in response to you.
Then learn to quote on a first grade level and stop carrying on one-sided conversations while making posts that are related to someone else trying to have a conversation with you. Hell, learn to edit your posts if you were really trying to only respond to Reeve.

Wow, actually searching to see what I'm doing; almost had me going that you didn't care. Good try though.

I will spell this out for you I guess. By me saying I am willing to spend more for me entertainment, I mean I am willing to buy both HD and BlueRay, whether it comes in one player or two. All this was in reference to Reeve. The only time I found it necessary to respond to you was when you misunderstood me. This isn't something that is able to be debated. I know what I said so just drop your bullshit.

Gonna try to remember, will edit post once I get home with the actual titles, I have around 45 if I remember right...was on a mission for awhile to buy one newer release and one remake release per week to fill out the collection.

When the price comes down, really wanna pick up a high def projector and maybe bump my receiver up to a 7.1 from the 5.1. Imagine having essentially a theater in your home with 50+ of your favorite movies to pick from.

I don't have to imagine. :D

It's only 720p/1080i but that and ~100" is good enough for me!

Is the projector good for gaming? I hear there's a slight delay that would make twitch reaction games more difficult, but I don't see why as light projects at the speed of... well... light.

My uncle's pricing systems currently, I could send you some information on what he's looking at. He has a membership at a Direct Buy outlet, so he's paying manufacturer's cost without store markup.

Well I won't be able to buy it yet anyway til at least May since I won't have anywhere to put it. I assume between now and then the prices will come down a little. I'm hoping to pick up a 1080P with decent stats for $2000 or under, which with this out there in the wild it seems reasonable.

I'm thinking by May or June there may be something a little stronger for a little cheaper. Then I can slap a cheap hd-dvd drive into my PC, attach it to my old TV and use it as a pc monitor I can watch hd dvd movies on. Then when blu-ray burners come down, slap that on, and I can netflix hd dvds and burn em to blu. This is assuming that by May the format war is still going on.

Sounds cool...his plans are to put a movie / entertainment server in his house to hold the movies. He saw it at a high-end electronics shop and figured he could put it together himself for cheaper. I thought he was kind of kidding around, but he layed down the piping to run the network cabling throughout his entire house last weekend.

I have not noticed any lag playing on the projector.

So you really were having a conversation with nobody. Sorry I misunderstood, I thought you were intelligent and sane.

Projectors are really annoying to deal with, you need a room designed specifically for it or it'll suck. It's significantly easier and usually even cheaper to just buy a projection TV. LCD's usually do have a very small amount of lag time, but it's usually represented by a shadow or a ghost because the image is pushing through the crystal. The non-LCD projectors usually don't have that problem, because it's a problem inherent only to LCD's; hence why in the store a lot brag about response time.

I'd say just grab one of /these and save the hassle of building a room around your projector; especially if you might be moving after a while. Plus, you could use the difference to grab a semi-decent 7.1 receiver.

Yes, projectors require a specific setup, which is why I said I won't get it until I have the place to put it. I have an LCD right now, so I'm good on that front, just waiting until I move to jump on a projector.

As for the 7.1 system, gonna get that eventually. Right now I've got the 5.1, and it'll probably stay that way until after the projector. I care about audio quality just like picture quality, but unfortunately very few releases actually take advantage of 7.1. Seems to be more common with games actually, which is sad in and of itself. Blu-rays have the space for lossless 7.1 so they should really be doing that instead of wasting space on stupid crap like picture-in-picture directors interviews that nobody gives a damn about. Seriously, my god I think the only reason it's an issue is because HD DVD had it. Give me higher PQ and AQ and toss everything else out to accommodate.

Apocolypto was done very well, but it was a little too dark for me at times. I like movies with an edge and such, but watching an entire civilization get ruined for 90 minutes isn't really entertaining to me. Ironically I love the original Dawn of the Dead... but the tone is actually pretty light.

Yea, its definitely not a film everyone will enjoy, but its brutally honest and doesn't sugarcoat what happened. I respect that, anyway thanks for showing that link. Are Primevil or Dark Water any good?

No idea. Disney seem to be offering the best movies out of the bunch to be honest. I'm so divided on Cars. I hear it's good and it's a pixar, but the concept seems soooo stupid. Ironically same thing I thought about Ratatouille.

I've seen Cars but not Ratatouille, but I see them both as movies I'd watch if they ever showed up on TV and nothing was on, not something I'd ever be driving home thinking, I'm gonna pop this in once I get back. Just my personal preference though, I know Pixar has fans of all ages.

Edit: Holy run-on sentence...lol
