I think it was 1980 since the last win, 1993 since last time we were in the World Series. But damn the rain delay tonight right after the tie.

Yeah, 1980 was the last time you guys won it.

Congratulations Philadelphia Phillies, 2008 World Series Champions!

Never, ever wish for that. For your own safety.

Here's to another 25 years before Philly gets another major sports title!!!

I kid. Congrats. They earned it. I'm not a fan of Philly in any sport (obviously, Pittsburgh, etc.) but of all sports for them to take it in, I'm comfortable with MLB because the Pirates such large amounts of balls that it's not even a rivalry. Now, Hockey or Football, you can all suck it. If the Flyers/Eagles win a championship anytime soon, I will cry, curse, poop, or possibly all three at the same time :P

28 years isn't really overdue for a World Series trophy.

It's far more exciting to actually witness a Championship. Unless they're 45 years old, they never really got to experience the thrill of it. The first real thrills I got out of sports were the Sox in 2004 and the Steelers in 2005. Those are moments I'll never forget. Now if only the Pens could snag one :(
