2008 still sucking?

From what I researched, natural disasters have had a large increase over the years and it's effecting more people as time passes.

cuz people are popping babies out like armies these days. Fucking dumbass kids

I'm not sure if you know this, Ruffy, but babies aren't exactly "pooped" out....

he didnt say poop he said pop....

and i dont watch the news i look at CNN every now and again and im sick of seeing the same fucking news on there for a month strait, that polygamist bull shit i dotn care about WOOPIDY FUCKING DOO theres more pressing matters at hand than 400 people being dragged off a ranch more than a month ago. (ranty me)

And a zombie apocalypse would be fucking awesome, my weapon of destruction is a Sawed off shot gun with a high powered rifle on my back for big Fields.

i know why 2008 is so crazy. mother nature is rocking the house cause Bush will finally be out of office. she had to put up with him for 8 years so we can forgive her if she gets a little crazy.

oh no! enqueued political discourse... set up the hazard tape! lol

Hey now, I <3 George Bush. Well, just the fact he did a Dr. Evil impression. Who cares if other countries respect us, at least he's not pretending to be someone he's not.

Plus, even though I wouldn't run, he makes me think there's hope my retarded ass could be president one day. If, well, I was rich of course. Big difference between us there >.>

2008 is just like any other year.

It has its ups; it has its downs. Then, by the time June comes around, we'll still be wondering where in the hell January through May went. Yea, it could be better, but it could be worse.

I agree....
My year has had its fair share of ups and downs. Sure I can complain that it could be better... but I'm thankful it isn't much worse.

As for an increase in natural disasters... they haven't really increased when you think about it. It just happens that its effecting more people and its being covered more on the news and such. Its like being hit by lightning... you only really hear about it if it strikes someone important, or it kills someone.

The last two collamities were Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami that hit Sri Lanka really. Sad to say, these two took out more people and raped the land. It's just two things though. Was there a Volcanic eruption last year? I dunno. What I do know is there has been more Natural Disasters Year-to-date then before.

I don't really keep up with the stats for disasters but I think it kind of fluctuates over the decades. I think recently there just has been a little more but maybe I just didn't notice as much due being younger. Personally my year is going pretty well. I am blessed with overall good health for me and my family, a job, and the ability to do most of the stuff that I want to do.

Increase in floods could be at least partially related to people messing with the land and making certain areas much more prone to flooding, as well as more people living in naturally flood-prone areas. Disease epidemics are obvious, and wind storm types are probably affecting more people because more and more people live/take vacation near the coast.

Of course, it's still fun to yell "GLOBAL WARMING! EVERYBODY PANIC!" just to screw with people.

If I understand properly, it isn't just that they're effecting more people, it's that they are happening more frequently (at least, getting reported more frequently, and with satellites etc. we can see storms that are happening that won't effect human-populated areas. Like the ocean.)

It's not that I'm a huge Global Warming is Coming to Eat Us (like zombies, but hotter) advocate, or that I think we're entirely blameless and shouldn't be doing things to protect and preserve the environment, but, well, I saw this T-shirt in the mall once, on the front, there was a giant cockroach in a top hat with a cane, and the back said "Evolve or Die". And I am a fan of evolution.

true, i talked to someone like a week or so ago and they think all of this is bull shit and its just a giant cycle of earth? i was like el oh el? it was a long in depth conversation im not gonna post most of it on here lol

I don't remember the exact number, but the planet earth has been through something like 13 ice ages? I had to do a project on global warming and that was one of the cool facts i picked up.

Remember way back when, with El Nino, and everyone was sure that it was a sign of global warming and we were all going to die, and then it turns out that it was just a perfectly normal part of the earth's cycles that even the Aztecs or somebody knew about?

Maybe the poles are switching.

The planet evolves just as we do hence the climate change and increase of natural disasters. Here in San Francisco the Pacific plate is actually getting shoved beneath the North American plate which causes the tremors that we have here in California. Also the fact that there are about 5 fault lines or so running a course through the Bay Area is a little unnerving.

On the History Channel there was a documentary about climate change and supposedly the poles are supposed to shift about 9 degrees off from what they are currently now so with that in mind the weather is going to go even more haywire than what it is now. People can chalk all of the natural disasters to the "end times" or whatever, but perhaps it's just a natural course for the planet to go through and some people would prefer to remain ignorant in thinking that the planet must remain balanced as opposed to static.

Wait, do you mean the poles as in the axial tilt of the planet, or the magnetic poles? I was referring to the magnetic poles switching places. (Grab your radiation suits everyone!)

The axial tilt to be exact, well from the documentary was saying at least.
