So, in every single series, the higher seed team lost home ice advantage. This has NEVER happened in the current playoff format.

Unfortunately i live in buffalo and work for a sports bar. they are gonna get creamed at work tomorrow because game 3 will be in Boston. I'm not really a hockey fan , but I hope the Sabers keep winning so we keep getting more business.

More money for us servers. :)

Uh, GO HAWKS AND GO CAPS!

since my team didn't even make the playoffs.... don't laugh, seriously. (it's the leafs)

Was at a bar in Waldorf, MD. Saturday night checking out a band called Funny Money (Fronted by Steve Whiteman from Kix) and they had the Caps game on. I didn't realize anyone was paying attention to the game until the whole place erupted when the Caps scored in OT and won the game. What a moment.

Washington shows us in games 2 and three why they scored the most goals in the regular season. Come back from 4-1 to win in game 2, and annihilate the Habs in game 3, going up 3-0 at one point to chase Halak from the net.

The Boston/Buffalo series is nice to watch, if only for the goaltending. Boston wins at home to take the series lead from the top-seeded Sabers.

Vancouver played a good game in the OT loss in game 2, but game 3 was all LA, up 4-1 at one point.

And San Jose scored the winner in Game 3. Wrong net unfortunatly.

Dear Capitals... win FASTER. I need the Habs out ASAP.

San Jose did get a tough break with scoring in the wrong net... but it happens sometimes.

The only games I'm occasionally forced to watch when not studying for finals is the Penguins-Senators games, because my roommates are obsessed with Sidney Crosby. I'd play devil's advocate and cheer for the Senators, if only I didn't have friends who were lolLeafs fans.

PS: You spelled Canucks wrong ;.;

Another year, another time for me to repeatedly state: LET'S GO PENS!!!

Haha Leafs. Haha. Trainwreck of a franchise, AND they traded their 1st round pick, which turned into the #2 overall

The first team to advance is the Flyers? What is this I don't even.

Halak's gonna bounce back and we'll win game 6 in Montreal. But I doubt we'll pass the first round anyway. On the other hand Colorado can't lose, they are my old Nordiques after all! D:

Colorado is out, they were hot coming in and Anderson was brilliant, but they just didn't have the offense to get past the Sharks.

Game seven in Phoenix everyone, hold onto those head coverings.

God the Blackhawks were nerve racking against the Preds. A lucky goal in game 5 to take it in game 6. If the Hawks win the cup, they have to be one of the worst goal-tended teams to ever win it all. If it weren't for the defense of the Hawks we'd be screwed.

I feel like there's a number of teams left that could hold that crown if they were to win, haha.

Niemi and Huet's numbers are misleading because the Hawks, I think, are #1 in the league on blocked shots. There's been consistency problems all year in play from Kristobal Huet and Anti Niemi. Niemi has been marginally better because he doesn't have a gaping hole on his glove from holding his glove parallel to his leg rather than parallel to the ice.

Yeah that's true. I don't get to watch a whole lot of Western Conference Hockey sadly, which is directly reflected in my piss poor picks for those teams in my playoff fantasy pool (Matt Duchene, ><). But I was having a discussion with someone who was trying to tell me that Fleury wasn't that good (A popular scapegoat here in Pittsburgh, because the Steeler fans turned Hockey fans always need someone to blame), and I replied with "Of the remaining playoff goaltenders, who would you rather have?". Luongo...maybe? Nabokov...yeah... Other than that, it's a who's who of rookies, has beens, and never was's.

So, the west goes largely as advertised, although the Phoenix and Detroit series had a few question marks.

The east.... WHAT THE HELL. Only one higher seed team got through, and it was the lowest of them.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA CAPITALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"What's so special about [Crosby]? I don't see anything special there. Yes, he does skate well, has a good head, good pass. But there's nothing else. Even if you compare him to Patrick Kane from Chicago ... [Kane] is a much more interesting player. The way he moves, his deking abilities, his thinking on the ice and his anticipation of the play is so superb.
I think that if you take any player, even if he is "dead wood," and start promoting him, you'll get a star. Especially if he scores 100 points. No one is going to care about anyone else. No one is going to care whether he possesses great skill. Let's say you put someone in front of the net and let him deflect pucks in, and he scored 50 goals; everyone will say "Wow!" and then hand him a $10 million per year contract. That's what they like here. "

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA SUCK IT SEMEN!!!!!!!!

Suprising that the Sharks are up 3-0 on Detroit now. But if anyone can lose a series up 3-0, it might be San Jose. If anyone can win a series down 0-3, it's probably the Wings. The Sharks have proven in the past that it's hard to grip a hockey stick when both hands are firmly wraped around their necks.

Actually they were successful... sooooo... Nevermind...
