$400 40 gig rumor.

Not likely when 360 owners come to this board with the entire purpose to talk shit.

lol im really not trying to start anything, but this coming from a guy who has a red ring xbox as an avatar and owns half the posts on the 360 board :)

Also coming from the guy that starts most of the fights or is a major player in just about every single one.

Most 360 owners already own a PS3 or are planning to get one, while most PS3 owners are too high up on Sony's horse to even consider (seems mostly like cloc on this one).

Lol@timeshift. I really hope the real game is better than the demo. That game i can't imagine being the selling point on any console. Killzone 2 does look pretty interesting. I might rent it...I wasn't a big fan of killzone1.

Really? Because the sales of the PS3 don't really reflect that.

I was referring to the whole "its the 360 people's fault for the flames". Not saying as a whole, but what i thought i noticed as far as QCDN went. I guess i'm the only one.

I'm in that camp. I know I'll buy a PS3 eventually, but I'm in no rush to do it. Hell, it's taken me two years to actually enjoy owning a PSP. I'm not touching this 40GB abomination -- no backwards compatibility, no sale -- but down the road... yeah. When the new Sly Cooper and Team Ico games land on the system, the purchase will look a lot more appealing.

Nevermind your right. The no backwards compatiblility makes me mad. I know alot of PS3 owners will say just use your PS2, but it's the principle of the matter. If the Xbox can do it, so can the PS3.

If the Wii can do it, theres no reason for any model of the PS3 not to. RITE GAIZ?

But seriously, so long as the media type stays the same, backwards compatibility should be a standard feature.

I don't go onto the 360 board for the express purpose of bashing. I've engaged in a few conversations there and some were negative(like when the baby got burned to death by the Xbox and Microsoft sued the family), but I don't just go there to bash the machine.

There are people here with no intention of getting a PS3, with a 360, who have over 100 posts here, and every single one of them is anti-PS3 in nature.

So the big difference is...

If you have a negative opinion of the PS3 and can talk rationally, PS3 vs 360 jerkoff fests aren't needed. If you come on this board for the sole purpose of insulting the PS3... then conflict will probably occur.

Defending the PS3 for me is really very reflexive. I've been into consoles since the original Nintendo... I'm into hardware and software design(used to be a comp sci major but got bored of it), it has the best hardware by far, the exclusives I actually care about and the best overall deal in terms of features for the price. On top of that I love playing devil's advocate and dumbasses all over the internet love declaring it's the devil.

But what's apparent from earlier in this thread, they're just too fucking broke to buy one.

We'll I can't argue that they might break on you, though mine and including 3 other friends have never had a problem with ours.

As far as me getting a PS3, I will get one eventually. As long as the Final Fantasy titles stay exclusive to Sony, I have no choice lol.

Halo 3 is not selling well in Japan.

It may not sell well, but when i played against some JPs in matchmaking, they were one of the most organized teams i have ever seen.

I'd say this is the least popular reason most people aren't getting a PS3. There is a difference between being too broke to get what you want, and waiting until its a worthwhile purchase to make. I think it was you, who said yourself, buying a system early for solely the games that are coming out is just silly. I don't want to spend $500 when i don't see any games that would warrant that pricetag, yet.

-- no backwards compatibility, no sale --

Whereas this, is one of the, if not the most popular reason for people not owning a PS3. With all the shit thats plugged into my TV as it is, i don't have room for a PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, HDDvD player, cable, computer etc. I do, however, have room for Xbox360, PS3, DVD, Cable.

Very few people say that the PS3 downright sucks, if anyone is. People are saying Sony is stupid and cost themselves alot of business by not offering backwards compatibility for the most popular gaming system of all time. Of course you already know this, as it has been beaten to death millions of times, so i'll just leave it at that.

I think a lot of people just dont have the money to buy a PS3, so they have a lot of angst built up against it. Therefore they say 360 is better in every way possible in the world because they own one.
But when PS3 becomes affordable and gets games they will buy it.

That's about the most asinine excuse I've ever read about the situation.

It's not that they don't have the money to buy it. It's that they don't have the justification. So far, every must have killer app zomg buy this now title thats been release has been met with a "Meh," by just about anyone not chained down by fanboydom. Theres either nothing wonderful/exciting about the games(other than graphics, I know some graphics whore would've interjected about them,) or they're just way too short for their price tag.

No ones going to drop the money on a PS3 for average titles and ports/multi platform, unless they're going to make use of it as a Blu-Ray player as well. Atleast, no one with the right sense of mind. Strictly gaming, it has very little going for it.

What the feck is so hard about saving money from each check you get. If people can buy $300 xbox, there's no reason why one can't save money for PS3.

I really don't buy that at all. It costs a lot, yes, and you do get a lot of value for what you're spending; but most people have no need for the major features of the PS3(blu-ray especially); that and the fact that there aren't many games worth actually buying(heavenly sword, for example), so there's no incentive to buy it now. Yeah, a price drop will help move units, but if the PS3 actually had a couple games that are absolute must-plays, then it'd still sell even at the $600 price tag. All of the really big titles for PS3 are multi-platform(MGS4 being the only exception so far), so there's no real reason to get a PS3 over a 360 unless you must have a blu-ray player, which 90% of people don't.

MGS4 isn't going to move that many consoles, because most of the people who want MGS4 already have a PS3. Something like this on the other hand, is a far bigger attraction to me than any MGS game ever will be. If only they'd make more offers like this in America.

If someone had the money for the 20gb xbox model when it was $399, im sure they had the money for the $499 PS3. It's truthfully never been about them money. The truth is every big title so far the PS3 released has been on the 360 as well. Vice versa some big titles for the 360 are only for the 360.

I know you guys have Heavenly Sword and it was fun for the 5 hours it took to beat it, but come one...people want more then that.
