A farewell thread section

You see people post there farewell thread in all different places, GT, FB, even Gen Discussion. May be they should be given there own section, call it the good bye section or something similar. Here people can post if they are leaving for a month, year, or forever, and there thread wont get lost in the other boards. Just a suggestion.
 
It's been tossed in the air a bit in the past. We pretty much figured that good times could be the homes to it since people usually recall their good memories.
 
I agree with Lanien that it would be depressing. Maybe we should make a goodbye section and then lock it so that they would have nowhere to post at all =p.
 
Well goodbye threads are depressing anyway giving them a proper home won't change that. Actually one the reasons Why think they should have there own section, so they won't gloom the GT board up. It quite depressing when there more goodbye threads on the GT board then there are yay I leveled threads.
 
So the solution is to move them all to a board no one will look at? I'm sure the whole idea of having them in Good Times is so that people can say goodbye to their friends and people they have played the game with and to inform those folks they are leaving.

Much like anything else in GT that doesn't appeal to you, if posts of that nature bother you all that much, don't read them. It's not really necessary with everything else the mods are dealing with at the moment to have them invent a useless new forum to accomodate something that is fine where it is.
 
Many public general forums have a section where people who have been away can post that they've returned, as well as where they can post their farewells.

I don't really see anything bad about making such a section, other than the fact that it just adds an extra line to the list of boards at QCDN. It does make things easier for people to have a quick look at who has recently returned/left if those topics are all kept in one place, where as currently they can easily be put back a page or two due to the other "good times" topics that are posted daily.
 
And you'll probably get someone complaining its overdone, then we'll see satire posts in a Goodbye thread like.

See he see what I mean. Also I never said it had to be done now or ever, I just making a suggestions which many other boards do. Hell make it a sub section of the gt board like dynamis is to event, then you would not even have the extra line. Also it would be look at and as zerayla put it nicely they wont get lost in the sea of gt post.
 
We could always make it as a subforum to Good Times. But I need to see a good amount of people who want to see this happen.
 
I like the idea. I think a seperate place for comings and goings would be stellar. And yeah, there will probably be people who feel the need to tell us all when they go get a drink or whatever.
 
We have been using GT as a departure thread forever. We do not need more forums for you to spell incorrectly in...
 
off-topic: your sig is amazing, where'd you get that?

on-topic: just more clutter to the site, I can see the reason but really trivial, the only thing it would be used for really is as a source when someone cracks on another for "quitting the boards" or "quitting the game", not that's it isn't to point out but lol.

As for clutter, why would it be clutter? If anything it would be respectful to those that depart us. There names can be forever found instead of lost in the GT boards. For example was trying find kinkerbelle I quit thread awhile back for a friend, but was unable to fine because just to many threads, and for some reason did not show up in search. Making them 2 forums will make gt less clutter and goodbye easier to find and track. Heck it to much of a hassle to to divide the section give mod status of gt board and that board and be more then happy to pull all the I quit threads out and put them in there new home.
 
The poll was not spaming a idea glavin, it was just that a poll. This thread was a suggestion to the mod, the other was to see how many think it a good idea.

As for not wanting to make the board look more clean and professional, fine I can care less.
