Yes, I am bitter because this is the first Valentine's Day I've spent alone.

I'm sorry not everyone shares the enthusiasim for today. But thats their right. But I do ask that people not be so negative about it. It's not good to ruin a specail day for others. :D

Yosh if you were in a relationship and you require a holiday to make it special you should re-evaluate.

If you need a day to tell someone you love them well.... :roll:

I just find it to be a completely useless holiday

This is pretty much how I see it too. If you're happy with someone, you don't need a day to prove it. You can plan the same type of stuff any old day because you want to do those things with that person.

If you're single, and don't like V-Day, get someone...Or just leave the happy people alone and go sit in a corner or something.
 
There is one good thing about this day though....Super mario valentines!!

I look at Valentines Day like this.

Yes, it's just another day, but so is Christmas, Thanksgiving, St. Patty's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and any of the other holidays I'm omitting.

Yes, you can do the things to prove to your loved one that you love them on any day of the year, and you should. But on Valentines Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, yada yada, you go above and beyond what you normally do for the ones you love/care for/cherish. It just makes it stick out in their mind a tad more that you do take that special initiative to do something more.

It doesn't mean spending a ton of money, but taking just that little extra bit of time to show how much more you appreciate them.

Jus' how I look at it. Take it or leave it.
 
Tonight i'm lighting some candles, drinking some wine, eating some left over pizza, and playing some ffxi... alone.

The worst part about Valentine's Day is when you have a female roomate with a boyfriend. All I heard yesterday was... "OMG Jonny! Check out my V Day presents for my boyfriend! I love him sooo much! Blah Blah Blah!." Last night I finally got fed up when she asked me how her "Valentine's Day outfit" looked. I told her it looked like shit and it made her tits lopsided. IN HER FACE!
