Well i've been thinking lately about all the high lvl newbs out there and i had a pretty good idea. SE makes a new G1 which should involve a type of mini maat/question test for G1. And get rid of the npc Genkai.

What the New Genkai could be is something to make sure you have gil, armour up to a certain lvl, and something that should test your playing skill for that lvl.

If it was a test i was thinking it should like the DMV. There are 1000 diff questions for the job you are and you only have to answer like 50 or something.

Or instead of a test maybe something that /checks your gil/items/equipment and something that would watch your playing ability. Like SE hires a few people (or make gms) to make a "party" with the person doing the test and see's if the deserve to go any higher.

Those are just some thoughts on making newbs dissappear.
also this all sounded a lot better in my head XD.

What do you people of qcdn think?

Also feel free to add any idea's like mine ;p

they'd just pay someone or have someone beat him for them like they do at lvl 70.

but it would be pretty nice to have to fight maat at lvl 50 lol. or shoot at least make it a 60 fight like that enm.

That, by far, is one of the most conceited things I think I have ever heard. I say boo, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

What scared to EARN your job? and not have high lvls farm your items?

Edit: also i don't know if other people take pride in their job but i sure as hell do. I've left pts with pls cause i want to earn my exp. Its PLs that make shity players most of the time so i mean this idea is pretty solid

I think thats a stupid idea. You wanted to know what I thought right?

You are an idiot.

concieted: characteristic of false pride; having an exaggerated sense of self-importance

Nothing about that post suggested he felt more important than others aside him calling players that can't do what he suggested noobs.

If calling someone a noob is the most concieted thing you've ever heard, you need to leave the basement more often.

one of the worst idea's i've heard of, right up there with making everything rare/ex and 100% drop. For a few reasons:
1) it punishes the honest players, not the 'n00bs' you want to prevent from raising, as most of the people who are n00by at that high of the level have other people do things like that for them, or just buy the acount. The honest people who need to beat it, but can't meet elitist standards are the one kept behind.
2) who gets to decide what good gear and enough gil is, just because you think everyone should have said piece of gear means crap
3) Se would have to pay more people to do it, which means raising rates, which is something they wont do anytime soon except for existing costs

If you want to get rid of n00bs, just help them out, most of them arn't as bad as people make them out to be, but when you yell at someone for something as simple as 1 piece of armor, or using the wrong food, thats when people start to get a pissed off mood like ALL n00bs do, if what everyone says it to be believed... ::rolls eyes:

I admit the gear and gil thing was retarded but the rest is till a good idea and if your good at your job you shouldn't have problems with this

I don't think this particular idea is the best for a renovated genkai, but I do agree that Genkais need to be made so that high level help is impossible. High levels shouldn't be able to farm your papyrus, or kill your boreal mobs, or escort you through the three beastman headquarters. You shouldn't be able to look up a faq and cheat through genkai 4. Only the Maat battle really tests your job skill. All the genkais should be like Maat, in that noone can babysit you through. One could be party based, one could need an alliance, but they should all be level capped at the level you intend to pass. There's a difference between being a skilled player, and having level 75 friends. At the moment, most of the game only requires the latter. That's probably why noone likes COP. They hadn't been expected to earn anything themselves for all this time, and all of the sudden they have to carry their own weight.

At the beginning this wouldve been nice...When everyone was hitting the 50, 55, and 60 plateau around the same time. But now, as i have just gone through, it is reallll hard to find 6 players to team up and do these time wasting quests.

I would have sooner quit this game than have to find 5 guys i dont know and get 6 papyruses and 6 exoray molds... That would be pure hell.

SE created these bullshit level cap quests to make you take the time to do them, meaning you play longer, meaning you pay them more. I understand it for AF gear and even maps and stuff, but Level cap? Come on now...I think there should be a test similar to the maat fight for the level caps, that would actually prove you are worthy of getting the next five levels, and would be less likely to involve high level help. I sure as hell know the second i was going to do Rank 5, G1, and G2, i looked to the high level members of my linkshell for help before trying to get a party of level 50 players to do them. That shit aint for me, i waste enough time farming gil and leveling that i dont need to be set back with more ridiculous quests.

What is a Noob?

I personally like to keep them in 2 seperate catergories.

Noob and newb.

Noob: Lvl 20 or less player that knows exactly how to play every job in the game from lvl 1-75 by heart. Needs no help and becomes rather hostile when offered advice. Usually types in all caps to highlight the importance of their words over yours.

Newb: A new lpayer eager to explore the virtual world layed out before them. Often they will make erronius assumptions about gameplay as they lack experience. They great Veteran players with great joy and ask more question than a person can answer. They are eager to learn and appreciative of any advice given to them. Often refered to as a "Newbie"

I see no problem trying to filter out the noobs. They make the game harder for Newbies, casual players, and Veterans. More frustrating as well.

Noobs are self loathing and have great disdain for anyone that attempts to help new players. Somehow, they mistake anyone that is not a noob for being, you guessed it, a noob.

Have your noob spade or neutered. Thank you.

Ah, but noobs always have level 75 in any job you're arguing, on another server. From what I gather, Asura is apparently the server where noobs level their 75 alteregos.

To change it now would be a problem for me. Even if it were to be a level capped battle to ensure the difficulty it would still be trivialized or impossible. They would either have to make it so it would be hard for all of the uncommon power group builds and make it impossible for a normal party build or have it balanced for a normal group and have the player base require certain power builds to even help. Also throw in that the amount of new players to the game is dwindling.

Ok quick question. Why would someone who doesn't have a reasonable amount of gil and equipment that isn't considered good, want make that a requirement to move on to the next level in the game? Answer, because they are a conceited prick that feels everyone should have such and such gear and a big bank, because that's what makes you good, right. Just like they do. Right. I imagine that you wouldn't nerf yourself, so why would they. This whole post thread fails.

/sigh everytime you post a ninja kills a kitten and doesn't care.

and i am not conceited at all i only put that part about the gil and equipment in because EVERYONE bitches about people in gimped gear. Now stop posting in my thread!

Who are you to say anything about anothers persons gear? That, I think, is what most people miss in this game. There is a reason that there is so much gear, and also gear for every level jump that you can get from an NPC, up to the point to where you can get good gear from doing quests. To all the people who bitch about other people in gimp gear, I say either give them good gear or shut the fuck up.
