Yes, i agree. an Asshat is an Asshat, doesnt matter where your from, theyre universal to all races and cultures.

I don't see why people say there's so much racism between JP and NA players in this game. The only reason I believe that most people put JP PT only or NA PT only (I've seen it before) in their search comments is because it's easier to communicate. The auto-translator is alright, but can be a pain in the ass to get certain messages across.

The only thing that really pisses me off is how people still say Japanese PT's and such are better than NA PT's. The arguement is that they've had the game longer, bullshit, we've had this game enough time to pick up the skills neccessary to be on the same level. People say they're always more prepared then NA players, BS again, skill is skill, it doesn't matter where the hell your from. People make comments like "Last night I was in this awesome JP PT". A PT is just that, A PT, it doesn't matter what the nationality of the players is. People split us up into 2 groups without even knowing it. Sorry for the rant, I just get pissed when people put NA players down and put JP on a pedestal because they have more experience, we have plenty of experience, and skilled players come from all backgrounds, not just one.
 
Agreed. JP players do not walk on water, they are human just like the rest of us, no better, no worse. I just hate all the comments from NA players about how bad NA players suck... it just sounds to me like one of those kids I knew in highschool who bought every anime they could afford, wore shirts with japanese writing, and ate with chopsticks... but was irish.

Well, thing is, we actually made a movie about this kid. I dont remember what his name was, but we called him Muffins... not sure why...

Well, the kid showed up to school on the day the matrix dressed up... not like any patricular character mind you, he had sunglasses, and a black sweatshirt turned inside out... it was sad...

Well... about this whole thing...

If you wanna get into the specifics of it...

I had Davio in my LS. Davio's a good friend of mine, and me & him have always been cool. He was pretty angry this one time, though.

Me and him were talking, and he was INCREDIBLY pissed off.

At who? The Japanese people.

He told me a little scenario that went something like this (Pardon me if I mess up the details, Davio).:

Davio had 2 good Japanese friends he played with... While trying to level up... his Black Mage, I guess... Davio & his 2 friends get invited to a Japanese party.

Davio pretty much let them know through the auto-translator that his Japanese isn't so good.

So they went to go level up. And there's only one Red Mage in the group. A Japanese Red Mage.

So Davio says something along the lines of:

[Red Mage] [Casting spell.] [Refresh] [please]?

And the Red Mage wouldn't cast Refresh (Which is totally messed up) and replies:

[/no] [Refresh] [English] [Black Mage] - use [Drinks]

...

His 2 Japanese friends don't even say anything in his defense. They just stand there. Heh.

Now is that screwed up, or what?

Another example he told me about was when he was in the High-Level Avatar Battle Vs. Shiva.

They had a Japanese White Mage ... They start to lose the battle just a little bit... All of a sudden, the Japanese White Mage says:

[English] [Party] [mistake] ...

Disbands, and Warps out in mid battle.

... I'm not discriminating against Japanese people. Davio doesn't hate Japanese people either, he was just mad, y'know? Shit happens. I know that people like this exist both in North America and Japan... it's just annoying, and I'm ranting about it... That's all...

Any thoughts?
 
Ya, Devi makes a good point: if it would be unacceptable behavior for NA its unacceptable for JP.

actually BLMs don't need to be refreshed. chain casting wastes whm mp and gets you killed. besides... PJ is cheap to make. if the PT gets less xp per hour because the BLM isn't refreshed... that's just their perogative ain't it.

we all know whose side they are on. birds of a feather flock together. besides... JP don't need NA, why else do you think they can get away with it? they've survived 2(?) years without NA, to them, we are like a bad infection.

if i'm high level and the PT wasn't strong enough, i don't want to take a xp hit. PT's fault for being weak.

The JP treating davio that way isn't because he is NA.

It's cause he's not a very good BLM.

And Seibu doesn't have that comment in his bazaar because of general dislike for NA's. He does it to spite the other NA's that compete with his LS during HNM hunts. Doesn't make it right but that's the reasoning.
 
Culture doesn't make much difference. Just an action of a few which for NA seems normal might turn up to be a rude gesture for a JP. Like checking issue for example. Its nothign wrong displayed in NA version however its a rude action for a JP version. List can go on.

Now for people who thinks NA sucks, JP are gods I disagree. I am JP myself and the only thing to determin the person is good or not is depending on how the inside person of that character plays. Hence the actual human being who is controling the character. There are Moronic Jps as well as Moronic NAs. Hey no one is perfect, every culture has its own good and bad people. Some JPs are openly hanging with NAs where as some others are trying to avoid NAs like if they were some sort of plague.

Now there are NAs who are incredibly inmature, and to put in a simplest form, a complete fuck head. Where as in JP there are people who are completely un human. Just look around, search Dragon Arey, Onzozo, or any place where contested NMs or HNMs are located. Even at 5AM JP time there are some campers in there. This is the first game after 3 MMORPGs I have played that There is no TIME DIFFERENCE ADVANTAGE involved.

For those JPs who are racist, leave them. Sooner or later they will have to eighther quit, or accept the fact that this game is no longer a JP only game. For those NA people who are a complete fuck head leave them too. Just put them into a black list or something. Sooner or later there will be no place for him to stay. This is the reality of an MMORPG.

Excuse me, I won't make the assumption that you could be one of the thousands NA players that will do the following post sept 21th but I've read my share in allakhazam forums :
When NA players will get piss off by a player who happens to be french, we'll hear something along the line "we saved ur a$$ in WWII, fuckhead".

So if you want to play this little stupid game, I will gladly give you an history book and search for someone called Lafayette.

See? This could go a long way because of what ou ancestors have done. So learn the lessons from history and try to evolve, please.
 
Even if there is a fraction of the Japanese players who hate Americans I'm sure the majority of the Japanese just find the auto-translate funtion cumbersome and incapable of relaying what you would really like to say. I know I hate the auto-translate feature but I am still willing to party with JP players. I know I was a member of the SkateorDie LS but I ended up quitting them because there was a lot of hate speech towards JP players and I choose not to associate with that. So I quit. Not to say all the players of the SkateorDie LS are bad but it only takes a few to ruin the bunch.

Ugly is ugly no matter the nationality. Hell one of the main reason I quit Lineage 2 and came back to FFXI was because of all the ignorance being spammed in chat in regaurds to Chinese players from Americans. Also FFXI is simply a more polished game.

Whatever. Play on and good journeys.
 
I have gotten into a few JP parties. The sense I get is that they have a set 2-3 hour period where they can level. They level fast and furious with little down time and then they stop. I think they get annoyed, as do I and some of you, with getting a party, finding a spot, then someone leaves. Then you wait for replacement and the whole thing starts up again.
