Hmm... Interesting.

What was less interesting was that they insisted that, since I hadn't logged into the game in 30 days, I couldn't view the thread on the official forums.

I could understand not being able to post, but not being able to view?! That's retarded. Part of their goal with this should be to bring clients back, and new customers in.

Other than that, they're slowly winding towards making FFXIV into FFXI-2, which is really what the majority of people wanted, I expect. The physical level-attribute allocation system had a lot of potential, in my opinion, but a lot of the people I talked to found it overly complicated, especially when you're not sure what all the various stats do.

I think this is for the best. Changing from a magic job to a melee job in XIV takes a lot of point reassigning and is usually a hassle and a half. This way we can play whatever we want without having to wait for reset timers to change.

I am kind of keeping my eye out for FFXIV now. Wondering if with all these new changes and additions (materia) if it will be worth playing once again. Thing is, with Star Wars: TOR and Guild Wars 2 on the way SE is going to have their hands full with competition, least of all mentioning WoW as it just steam rolls along per usual. With any luck, perhaps the combined force of all 3 will pull enough people away to at very least make WoW less popular in the US. Worldwide though, I don't think it'll ever die until Blizzard makes the sequel mmo. Sadly.

My plan with FFXIV, basically, is to give it another fair shot when the PS3 release occurs. I figure SE will delay that until people are fairly happy with the game, and that way I'll have a bunch of people around my level to play with... >.>; Since I never got much past 10-15 on any of the actual professions.

Honestly, the game isn't bad right now. I'm amazed I've gotten to Rank 30 in about a month or so and I really haven't been playing it all that much. I do think the removal of Physical Levels will improve the game though. The reassigning of points and such is kinda ridiculous. I just hope they don't screw up again because I feel like they are going to force paying monthly onto people when it's still not worth paying for.
