Last time I checked you couldn't minimize it on PS2, you can't make that comparison. I didn't use the windower when playing on PC. Most of the time I had a laptop, but for a couple of months I didn't have one and lived without it. Just like I would have had to have a laptop or PC besides my PS2 to look things up, chat on AIM/MSN, or whetever else.

And it is a cheat even though you don't think it is. You can't justify breaking the rules just because you think that is the way the game should be. Not saying I like it. I love the UI of WoW since you can tailor it that way you want, but it is supported by Blizzard. The windower and it's plug-ins are not supported by SE and they can do whatever they feel like to your account if they can somehow detect you using it.

If you don't like it, then just as other people have said, stop playing the game. You won't ever get SE to change the game with you "cheating" in their eyes. When people stop paying to play the game because of it not being windowed then SE might decide to change their minds, but until then all you are doing is putting your account in jeopardy.

Oh well that is just my take on this, I have heard this stuf everytime SE does this, just had to get that off my chest.
 
Also, not everyones gonna quit if they get rid of windower. Would you quit the game after playing for years and getting 75, mertis, crafts, etc. just because u can't have non full screen, take ss's, and see TP?

I think Mire's point was if you play on PS2 you can use your PC to browse the web, the same utility windower adds.

Silly argument. What are you going to do if you could minimize it? Stare at a blank screen? However, it does lead me too....

I did! Gotta love a big screen TV where I could have half the screen with the PS2 up and the other half on TV. It must be a cheat! BAN ME!!!!
 
It's not silly, I was just stating that you could not compare using the windower on PC as the same as playing on a PS2. They are totally different scenarios.

I haven't posted here in a while, however I used to work for an unnamed MMO company as a GM.. and when you banned a player you had to fill out a form explaining why they were banned that generated an automatic e-mail to the "real" e-mail account they had in their account details. I would assume it is much the same if they truly banned you outright.

If they were going to ban you by id you wouldn't be able to even log into POL I would imagine.

*shrug* just personal experiences.. take what you will from that.
 
Actually, most TVs have built in Windower. PICTURE IN A PICTURE, BABY! I think all PS2 and Xbox 360 users need to be banned for this.

By the way, a little while ago I had a short conversation with a GM about someone who appeared to be POS hacking, and I mentioned "feeling strongly about the use of third party tools" and the GM agreed with me and then left me alone. I was using Windower at the time.

No, they can't detect Windower. The only ways they can are - JP text on NA client, consistently showing off your knowledge of things like peoples' TP and getting called on it, and use of "feature-rich" plugins (one person got suspended for activating an FFAssist feature that triggered using an /echo - SE caught the /echo and had him in jail within a short time).
 
If noone here at QCDN was affected by these bannings, I'd say "great, they got what's coming to them", as people who use 3rd party programs know the risks they take. However, Tymon, Chasym and co are alright in my book, at least from posts on QCDN, so I was forced to change my tune. It's funny how familiarity with the victims can change your oppinion. As a result, my new official position is "Wow that sucks" instead of "You had it coming".
