Hello Everyone,

I wonder why the prices for some Items are going to low. And I wonder how some of you manage to keep making some gils.

I explain myself. From the time I was lvl 65-75 the prices were really high, this time SH was 12-13m and every items were really with prices I couldn't handle. I bought my SH 7m and my spectacles 7m. Now I check them and they are 3.3m and 1.7m. So in some way all the efforts I put in getting them are all ruined because now they are almost no Value. In the same times the every days items didn't drop as much as those equipement (food, potions, etc.). Using seals is also less profitable because some crafting items had there prices dropped. Now I have hard time making gils. when I found an item I can make some gils selling on AH, someone come a few days later a literaly cut prices (maybe on purpose to crash the prices). We don't all have linkshell that gives gils so I have seen some lvl 75 struggling to have gils.

So my questions are:

How you guys managed to still make gils?
Do you think prices will still go down on those big items?
Are you happy with the prices cut?
Do you sell your big items or keep them in case prices go up again?

Ps: If every people on this forum can send me 100g that would help me ><... I am j/king don't block my DB

Gil. It's already pluralized.

That gets almost as annoying as "Gears" when referring to equipment.

I paid more for an errant Haupolaude than my Weskit is worth now ; ;

counter Mine/camp/farm RMT in a team.
Edit: I didn't stress this ponit enough. If you go somewhere and there is a team of RMT, find 2 people to go for every 1 RMT you see. Cut into their profit enough, and they will go away. Newjack and Newelbort <where?>

They will sky rocket at christmas.

Are you happy with the prices cut?

no.

Buy Low, sell high. I won't ever sell anything for less than 1/2 what I paid for it no matter what. Horde all the items you can now, they'll be worth 10x as much come this January.

Thank you for this answer. Now please if you just can stick to my question instead of trying to explain me that Gil should not have a s because really...

You seem like a pretty literate individual. Does it get on your nerves when people use "u(r)" instead of "you(r/'re)?" How about "there" instead of "their" and "they're." You play the game, and you never read "gils" from NPCs except Goblins or Moblins, but they have mental deficiencies we don't like to talk about.

/off topic mod on

Don't Ask for non english people to be as good in english as the others. This game or this forum is not only for english Native speakers and maybe you have forgotten it. So If I make mistakes I am sorry but lol I really don't care that much.

If you have those sort of remarks to do to someone just send a pm to the person and don't start poiting them in the forum. If I wanted to know if gil take a S or not I would have made a subject about it, but Really I don't care.

/off topic mod off

Now to get back to the subject: I made a lot of gils selling currency in aht whitegate when the extansion was released. As everyone was trying to get the hat quick, I was making gils, now that the currency are not that much valuable I will merit to get the hat. thanks to this I have a little amount of gils wich make me play and buy my food. but without that I would really struggle.

The price drops have been discouraging in some ways, but I can't complain too much because there are some big-ticket items I've wanted and now is a good time to snatch them up.

I bought a Scorpion Harness my MNK can't wear yet because I'm sure the prices are going to start going back up with people returning to school. This would probably be a good time to invest in gear to sell later.

I'm one of those packrats who rarely sells off gear. I paid 14 million for my Noble's Tunic, and the price has dropped down to some insane amount. I've been asked if I feel cheated by that, but I can't say I do because I'd never sell my precious tunic.

This point is interesting. Do you think that as the hollidays are over; kids go back to school so have less time to farm, they will XP more. With less offer on AH and same Demands prices will go up? Is it what you think or maybe I am totally wrong?

Im gonna save a bunch of gils and buy a bunch of gears when my thf gets th2s.

A lot of people will want to get gifts for friends and demand will go up which forces prices up. The RMT will have christmas discounts and a lot of people will buy gil flooding the economy. Prices will go back up, maybe not as bad as before with SE deleting so many accounts, and in turn so much gil, but they will go up.

Spectacles dropped in price because of chivalrous chain.
Spectacles also became availiable from assault as a random prize making them less rare.
Scorpion harness now has to compete with jadirah peti and pal gear.
unless a thf is solo or in ballista SH is the weaker fo the two.
JP 200-300k vs several mil
Pal body gives the same acc bonus as SH but also enhances critical hits is free and offers raac+10 which is wonderful for thf using acid bolts.

Weskit dropped in price because of the synth ingredients becoming availiable in isnm fights as a faily common drop.

About Spectacles and Chain I agree and I really find that what SE did was too weak. Puting those items at the same lvl as Spectacles is really nasty, especially because they could have make those items Rare/ex.

I hate ISNM *grumbles*

bought my weskit for 9 mil, its now roughly 200k or w/e -.-

i feel your pain, i remember alot of the gear i have used to being alot more. although luckily alot of the gear i bought before the huge price hikes awhile ago, so i guess its just evened itself out.

I'd be all for this price drop if I had the money to buy things.

Think its at 450k, least last time I checked it was. And I'm in the same boat, almost. Bought mine for 4 mil, lol.

The value of gil has increased. In almost every item. Almost EVERYTHING is cheaper then it was back then. When everything is cheaper you really arent losing out that much. The people that make the most money in times like this is when you find items that net you the same gil then as they do now. I have been raking in money hand over fist because my old ways of making money are making me just as much money as before, so its easier to buy the more leet equipment.

Example:

When I quit I gave away my Foragers Mantle. It was at 6 mill. I have since come back and its sitting at 2.8-3.2 mill. Now back then I was able to farm for 100-150k an hr on avg and I still can doing the exact same thing. So its taking a significant less amount of time to save up gil for that specific piece.

When prices drop like they are you have to find somthing that hasnt changed much in price and exploit it. You just have to pray you already have the tools to exploit it, where it be a lvled craft, or a certain job lvled high enough.

Before I was farming for 100-150k /hour

Now same Items are roughly 30-40k/hours for me and I know I am not alone
