Absolute Virtue

He's a DRG/all. Hence why he uses a polearm. Well, he could be a SAM, since those Aerns use polearms too, but all signs point to DRG. (Besides, there are 8 days and 15 jobs, math doesn't quite work unless he has DRG twice in the list... 7 jailers, too)

And the last theory I heard behind his funky HP is that he loses max HP as well as current HP as he takes damage. Like if he has 100k HP to start off with, beat him down to 75%, and he has 90k HP max. Combine with regen, and you get some pretty random HP values on Benediction.

See, I did not know that. <_<

Maybe he's 2 certain jobs depending on day and only DRG (or SAM, whichever he is) on the 8th day?

Never seen AV or done jailers and all the like.. just trying to think of theories as well. Since you fight AV in altieu... I think the Aern idea could hold merit. Maybe trying to kill all 15 different Aerns while having a a virtue weapon equipped. Or kill aerns that relate to the job of virtue's weapon.

Example:
---------
Justice Sword drops from Jailer of Justice which is a BST mob. So use the justice sword (and have torque equipped and some virtue stones to boot... never hurts to try...) to kill BST Aerns in Altieu. And maybe doing that locks AVs ability to call pets that can use ninja 2hr.

It's weird tho.. because... in all the jailers you fight.. their weapons drop 100% but their torques don't. AV doesn't pop all the time either.. so torques and AV could be related as well.

'All 15' jobs are seen with the mobs needed to 'pop' AV... whm, brd, and rng are seen pets with the Ix'aern NMs (drg/drk/mnk) you need for the Deeds to pop 3 of the jailers.

so..

Jailer of love is a SMN/BLM/RDM that can call NIN? pets
Jailer of prudence is a THF
Jailer of hope is a WAR
Jailer of justice is a BST that calls NIN pets
Jailer of faith is a BLM
Jailer of fortitude is a PLD with 2 pets
Jailer of temperance is a SAM

Ix'aern DRK is a drk with RNG pets (drops deed for popping Faith)
Ix'aern MNK is a mnk with WHM or RDM pets (drops deed for popping Hope)
Ix'aern DRG is a drg with BRD pets (drops deed for popping Prudence)

==================

From reading the earlier posts by Uzor.. saying the Justice sword may have locked the nin 2hr of AV's pets or AV itself would make sense since the mob that drops justice sword/torque calls nin pets that can 2hr.

Following this theory and really really stretching it would be somehow creating the same effect with the hope staff because the Ix'aern mnk is the only NM that is accompanied with WHM mobs that can 2hr and the deed that drops from Ix'aern mnk is used to pop jailer of Hope. In theory, it would also get rid of hundred fists as well.

===================

I can't think of any other theories other than the one i stated at the top of the post. I remember ppl talking about this long ago and came up with using the cardinal sin weapons (greed scimi, wrath tabar, etc) to defeat AV but the cardinal sins don't align themselves with the heavenly virtues (as stated in ffxiclopedia).

Actually I never mention data mining, only thing I made a point of was parse, you and rest of your kaizin buddies was the one that brought that and dang near everything else up. heck the only reason I even brought up in the first place is because crosis was so high in mighty that he don't cheat, and that he was some kinda saint. The fact that pissed you off was just a bonus.

Stop bringing up my name you toolbox. Every thread you post in I swear my name comes up somewhere. I never acted like some saint so stop making shit up and get the hell off my nuts.

On topic, as for AV you can come up with a thousand different theories to lock its abilties so who knows if it will ever be figured out.

P.S. Parsing isn't cheating

i stll say that you guys are thinking too hard ;o

Yo're saying they won't ever do it, but you can't be certain of it. Its their game, so if they wanted to add a flying purple pig NM in Sky, they could do it.

And btw, it sounds like oyu haven't been in sea (which I know you have, but you act like you haven't), Aerns aren't in a different zone. Aerns are all over the region. Including the very area Absolute Virtue spawn at.
at one point you was talking about the nms though, which are in different zone ix drk, drg, aern(aka mnk). Don't get me wrong I like your theory, I really do and think you are on the right track. Just think something missing.

Unless you are a developer for SE, hell you'd have to be the head developer, saying something can never be introduced is beyond stupid. They already have hidden effects, they already have effects that need certain actions to become active; all they have to do is go "hey, why don't we just make those effects not be displayed on the weapon like these other items here?" and we'd have hidden unlockable effects.

You're the only one who thought you won, when in reality it was you whining for who knows how many pages, then a bunch of people bitch-slapping you with so much logic a math textbook would be jealous. I'm not surprised you're to dumb to understand how much you got smacked around in that topic; you're definitely too dumb to notice your hypocrisy. You keep calling datamining and parsing cheating, but then you want the information that can only be gained from datamining or parsing. So it's not right for others to cheat, but it's perfectly alright for you to benefit from it.
No but looking at the fact that having a HIDDEN UNLOCKABLE CHARGE WEAPON in which you can't know when it ready is diabolical at best, lets put it this way would you make a car with no gas gages. Yes you might make car with nitro or flashy light, but in the end some constants have stay the same, one them being gaging when said weapon is ready.

You almost got it, keep trying you will understand some day.

Your analogy fails more than you usually do, which is saying something. You don't unlock your gas gauges when you meet certain conditions. Hell, tecnically they already have temporarily unlocked hidden effects. The line of Blau Dolch, Onimaru, maneater, etc. There's a latent, but there's also the hidden effect that is only "unlocked" when you have under 100% tp. All they would have to do is make it permanent.

Maybe if you had any idea what you were talking about, you'd finally understand that making an unlockable hidden effect would be ridiculously easy from a coding standpoint. They probably haven't done it yet(probably because it's HIDDEN and so might not have been found yet), but that in no way, shape, or form means that they will not implement it in the future. I'm sure no one ever dreamed there would be weapons that required you to do a certain number of weapon skills to make not suck, but guess what SE added?

Stop talking like you personally control the direction SE is going to take with this game, you have no influence at all in what will or will not be added to the game. Is it likely that they will add hidden, unlockable effects? No, but it's well within the realm of possibility, it's just not very probable.

I'm assuming you either didn't read it through, or that you didn't understand it at all? Because I'm rather sure I explicitly wrote that I were merely providing information to those that don't sea about how sea works when I wrote about all of the jailers.

/sigh Lets try this again.

This is a gas gauge, what does it do? it shows how much gas you have left. If a weapon would have to be charged it would have to have some type of gauge which show you when the weapon has been unlocked. Maneater has said gauge its latent dmg. The trial weapon have said gauge the effect on the weapon(in stats not on weapon) disappear. Now this is not saying that the justice does not have a hidden effect, just that it is not a unlockable effect. Unless the 7str on the sword is the gage and disappear from the stats(not the weapon) then said unlockable effect could be possible.

Gauge. Yes, it needs one. NO, it doesn't need to be visible to the player in any form whatsoever. Get it through your thick skull.

Example: The Dark Knight quest Great Sword. You needed to kill 100 enemies with it. There was no way of knowing how far you've progressed short of counting, or trying to get the cutscene to continue.

Now, go sit in the corner:

yes it does or else you would never know when the weapon would be ready. It be like driving a car with no gas gauge you won't know how much gas is left.

Retard Retard Retard Retard Retard Retard Retard Retard Retard.

Thats the god damn point. Let's go back to the DRK Quest Great Sword. You're not told how many enemies you need to kill. When the quest was first put in, it was, as you would call it, "impossible to solve."

You're not meant to know, you're supposed to figure it out. If you can't believe any kind of puzzle like that exists, go back to kindergarten where they can hold your hand through things. Seriously, SE doesn't give out some secret walkthrough for missions and quests when they add them. They have to be solved. The same can be(and has been) applied to weapon effects.

however the guage on that(drk knight sword) is the nm you turn it in to, the justice sword is not a quest sword it a sword that you are saying that is charged of aerns with x unknown. How would you test this try it on AV prey god you got enough? No it just not logical.

carby mitts hint is in the name itself, same go for element staffs.
You're an idiot. Shiva's claws and Ifrit's bow don't have any effect on the avatars; neither does the fire belt, fire staff, fire sword, etc. have any effect on magic. They're called hidden effects because the effect isn't written on them, the name is a description, not a "hint" for any hidden effects.

You're acting like everyone has known all along what all of the hidden effects were or what triggered all latent effects, when no one had any idea for months until the items were tested. The same applies to the sea weapons with the aern theory. It's perfectly plausible, especially considering the other triggers/effects that SE has done in the past; you're just too dumb to understand that.

Octave(w/e) Club!!!! Come up for a "answer" to that, Hellstorm.

first off the elemental staffs are a give me because the have been dang near every ff game since the beginning. Ifrit's bow does however only work if ifrit is out, plus it drops from ifrit. shiva claws same thing except no latant. The carby mitts, and dune boots have no other stats but def and have names that give them away to what they do. The jailor weapons however are great the way they are, and have no such tell sign. Also none the above item's are "unlockable" effects.
