Absolution = Vanquished? O.o

Sure. Just about every player less the console players will be banned. Windower is 3rd party but so many swear by it and basically turn the other cheek but still take up arms to those using other programs.

I don't disagree with you, I get that it's against the ToS, but most use windower, so why not use some other minor program?

I've got nothing against the vanilla windower. I don't use it, but that's because SE came out with a windowed mode on their own, thus removing the last real excuse for using windower.

If SE came out and banned everyone who used any third party programs, I would still be here. So would rather a lot of my friends, actually, including those who don't play on consoles.

It's cheating. What's the point of playing the game, just to cheat at it?

I'd still be here, too. And are you comparing using a plain vanilla Windower to be able to tab around outside of game to having a robot autoclaim mobs by packet-sniffing? One doesn't enhance the game at all, one of them plays the game for you.

Even with the most basic plug-ins (That I know of), being able to see hp%, tp/mp and distance don't make you a better player. They don't enable you to perform better, they just fill you in on some details that can also be made known public with a macro. Claiming isn't something anyone can do while AFK, so having an autoclaim in place and then just arranging your party around it seriously skews a shell's potential. If I get together 7 people who can kill Faf and bot-claim with 70 people in the zone, I just screwed all of those other folks who showed up with extra bodies probably just to claim. Bots are a much larger "minor" program to use.

It'd be the equivalent of putting a teenager into the Major Leagues with a bat that always hit the right field gap. Even if he has no business being there, the tools make him able to at least try and run the bases.

Not like any of this talk is gonna do anything. Abso (Vanquished) will never change their stance on this, and their core members, along with any other group that bots, will also try to find a way to cheat in FFXIV because thats the only way they know how to do things. Spellcast, NASA, FFXIApp, all those programs were not meant to be used in this game. I mean hell, if you want a damn machine to do everything for you, why the fuck you play to begin with? My BLU, PLD, and SCH all have extensive fucking macros that I took the time to write, and seeing them perform the way they are supposed to gives me such a sense of accomplishment (which I'm sure none of you botters know of) that I get that nice warm fuzzy feeling inside. Try it some day, you might just like it more than letting the machine do all the work.

Writing XMLs for spellcast is one of the most time-intensive things I do in this game. It allows you to maximize literally every single action you preform. I look at it as being the exact opposite of lazy and being able to use gearswaps that are humanly impossible without its usage.

It does far, far more then that.

A good example would be when casting Utsusemi: Ichi on PLD, you can:
Start the cast in Fast Cast gear and gain full benefit.
Then switch to Shield gear in order to maximize your chance of blocking.
Then end in Haste gear to minimize your recast timer.

If it's "dumbed down" I can send you my XML if you'd like and you can try and make sense of it. I'd almost be willing to bet my character you'd get hopelessly lost and give up, especially since you seem like an arrogant prick. It goes far beyond what is humanly possible, especially if you restrict yourself to in-game macros instead of windower scripts.

Sorry pal, having a program that does all your gear switching for you and leaves nothing but picking the spell/ability to yourself, is LAZY. It's not the opposite, it's exactly that. By the very definition of lazy, getting something or someone else to do something you're perfectly capable of doing yourself (and many do this day in day out) is laziness. You can dress it up as *awesome* and *mind-boggling*, but it's still cheating. Just super-nerdy cheating that has super-nerdy awesome consequences for people like yourself, where watching a bot play your game for you is super-fucking-fantastically-orgasmic.

I laugh at people like you.

LOL, not much more can be said. You feel like you've accomplished something because you wrote macro's and they actually worked? Take a look at an XML file written for SpellCast. If you think your macro's are an accomplishment you ain't seen shit yet. And I'm serious, before you respond to this thread, go to a windower forum and look at an XML file that's there for the public. It takes you a couple hours to write your macros, for a good XML file you're looking at a couple days, at the least, and that's PER job. The rules involved to make everything work in-game are 20 fold compared to simple in-game macros. If you think botting takes away a sense of accomplishment then I pitty you, the accomplishment still feels the same, it's just we get to feel it more often :D

Like I told Hexx, actually take the time to learn about what you're arguing against, go look at the windower forums and look at an XML file posted and then respond. If you think you simply download SpellCast and then it switches gear for you you're DEAD wrong. If you think making macro's are a frustrating task you ain't seen shit yet. Also a bot plays a mere 1 second of my game time, I'm there the rest of the time ^^

Wrong is wrong and double standards are BS.

Listen to this man, he speaks the truth. Oh and the most annoying thing with dealing with Spellcast and the XML file is if you fuck up one thing by say accidentally taking out a "/" or something it fucks up everything and it can take awhile to fix it. Spellcast and XML are the most complicated thing in this game to figure out.

Sorry for the double post, but had to touch up on this. You can do stuff with spellcast that a human can't do. I highly doubt you can put on your fast cast, shield skill, and haste set on your pld before utsusemi goes off.

Yes, it may take god knows how long to type that shit up, but once its done, it does the work for you, which is what you folks dont seem to understand. I'm constantly tweaking and updating my macros to get the best out of it. There is no machine doing the work for me here. bad enough gamers are seen as a lazy bunch, yall take it to the next level by being lazy IN A GAME!

Sorry for double post, fucked this up:

The bolded part, right fucking there, is what a lot of us are getting at. If a human can't do it in the game, then it wasnt meant to be done in the first place. Oh and btw, I CAN put my fast cast, shield skill, and haste set on before utsusemi goes off. I'm that good, as well as other PLD/NINs that dont use this shit.

Such a shame Auron, I remember the time when myself, and others, held you in such high regard.

Sorry, but same goes for XML files, you constantly change them as you come across new situations and what not. Only this is, it takes a lot more to tweak your XML files. Once again you're sadly mistaken, I take it you never looked at an XML file like I suggested. Believe me, there is NOTHING lazy about writing an XML file............. will you ever understand this?

I constantly update my XMLs. Multiple times a day. I tweak them and adjust them to a point that is far beyond what is anywhere near possible with in-game macros. I have MP locks to maintain maximum MP whenever possible. I have different TP and idle sets on PLD for almost every different HNM in the game. I have sleep timers that keep track of how long is left on a mob's sleep assuming said sleep didn't get resisted.

It is the opposite of lazy. You use a program that does all your gear switching for you as well if you use a macro. Simply because you use either windower scripts or in-game macros over Spellcast doesn't make you less lazy, it makes you either ignorant, stupid, or lazier.

Once you type up your macros they do the exact same thing. As I said, I adjust each XML probably about 3-4 times a day provided I'm on that job, sometimes even more if I'm not. Your macros do the exact same thing as Spellcast - it preforms predefined actions listed in a file. Spellcast simply does the same thing infinitely better.

You also can't equip Fast Cast, then switch to Shield and Phys-% wherever shield isn't possible, then guarantee you'll end in Haste. You cannot do it, you'd have to have superhuman reactions to do so and hit about 10 in game macros in the span of a couple seconds. You can say you can, but you can't regardless of what you claim.

Come on really? That's the most foolish logic ever. Guess what, Humans bodies weren't designed to be in space, or even 1500 ft. underwater. Does that mean we should stop space exploration or underwater exploration right now? Foolish logic is foolish.

And you don't hold Auron in such high regard now because why? because he decided to enhance his gameplay? because he decided to better himself and his playing abilities? You should hold him in higher regard for taking the rist to better his enjoyment in a game.

And you really want us to believe you hit about 7 macros in the span of about 3 seconds? I call bullshit.

Did read the bolded part properly?? I mean IN GAME not in real life kiddo.

Honestly, we are, yet again, beating a dead horse. You folks will never see the error of your ways, and none of us here will ever accept botting as a good way to do things. Lets agree to disagree and leave it at that.

P.S. Just one request, keep the douchiness to yourselves, had all that dynamis sniping and other bullshit not happened, y'all wouldnt be in the crosshairs all the damn time.

Thank you Hexx! <3

I really don't know why you see me in low regards now. I chose to enter a new area of endgame and better myself. I joined the shell I saw as the best on the server and began to expand my game and get new gear. The people I met in this shell were no different then others I have met ingame. They were funny, kind, welcoming. I got to accomplish most of my goals ingame and eventually decided my time in game was over. I don't regret the choice I made to join Absolution.

I didn't realize what Absolution was doing was so groundbreaking and selfless. We all owe Abso a debt of gratitude for the sacrifices they have made (and we need to forget how they're selfishly stealing from everyone outside of their shell on the server and wallowing in their own excrement, although the latter of this is entertaining).

Seriously though, let Abso and Aura do what they do. They won't stop anyways, and getting gear in a video game that won't make any difference a couple years from now is THAT important to them, lol...

Yeah, I'm with you on that.

As for Spellcast macros: Hooray, you know how to code? No one's impressed you wrote four pages of cheat to cheat for you. There's top-tier play, and then there's downloading-programs-to-write-days-and-days-of-script-to-enhance-and-optimally-play-the-game.

I guess FFXI is a fulltime job and life for some people. I don't have it in me to spend hours writing macros to get a pittance of "optimization" out of stuff.

lol @ botters both vanq and aura think they awesome but they not.

all you do is bot off each other, shits lame.... give other shells a chance at least..

You missed the point completely. We're human, humans are constantly looking for advancements to help them out, looking beyond limitations. It's no different in a game or real world. We want to constantly stretch the boundaries. Windower does that for this game.
