Well, I can see how someone would take offense to that. I'm sure somewhere in your game time spent on FFXI you've bristled at someone saying this to you also. After all, someone had to point this out to you once upon a time.
Do you really need to go out of your way, both of you, to tear people down for what subjob they have put on? It isn't as though she was going whm/pup or whm/pld or whm/bst. Going whm/brd isn’t the end of the world. You have reasons why you'd sub blm and that's all good. Looks reasonable, and it's what you want to do. You feel somehow she was going to gimp the team with a whm/brd do you? Well, Tenia knows how to play her whm. In fact, she's one of the best whms I've known on FFXI in my 4 years of playing the game. Go off and harass someone else who gives a damn.
So here is what was omitted. Previously to the chat captured and so cleverly used in the flame.
1. Achates made a call to Tenia and Byla to come help. They were busy but we needed more mages and they decided to hop on and come help the "team".
2. Tenia often helps the BLMs in her life mana burn puddings and subs /brd to refresh us when no Brd or Rdm is on hand. So we usually find her on whm/brd. No biggie.
3. Tenia and Byla log in. She rushes to get her soap because by then it's past the time we normally tele out. I’m sure had someone not been so snide about it, yet said in a more polite manner toward her, to ‘please change her sub to /blm.’ ‘It's more helpful’, she would have ran to the MH and subbed blm once she had a moment to breathe and see we had a rdm in each pt for the day. Byla wasn’t even in the party yet before these comments began about her /brd.
4. "I have the maxed merits and the best gear, I’ll come as blm" Well la tee da! This was how Mire stated she wouldn't change but "come as the job I was asked to use" or whatever the hell she said in response to the flame, trying to make herself seem all shocked and taken aback that people are saying she's abrasive, snide and delivers nasty comments that are thinly veiled at times. Also how she needs to “Learn to offer advice and criticism in a constructive fashion.” Who wouldn't take offense or read a certain "tone" into what she said?
Also, she did change to /blm to warp to her homepoint. You must have missed that /sea all tenia to see she was in Bastok. She met us at the tele-point once she agreed to return to the shell. Perhaps another reason for staying on /blm was that she didn't want to cause more of a disturbance in the team then what the two of you had already done.
This was run #3 for her. Run #1 with BK she had no refresher in her pt and had to rest often to get MP. Run #2 she subbed /brd and got flak from Rappa and Mirewen both. Mire can deny it, but she gave more than her 2 cents worth
So here Tenia shows up, ready and willing to help. And again they're going to comment on her for being /brd before she has a chance to catch her breath and view the party and jobs therein? Yeah I'd probably have said fuck this too. People who lead real lives have better things to do and care about then Limbus and FFXI. Since they got a call at home they came to help. She doesn't need that kind of shit and I don't blame you at all for dropping back out once they started in on her. Problem was Mire dropped too. Achates took past comments and attitude rants from Mire into consideration and asked Tenia and Byla to come back. Not her. Boo hoo, right?
It’s being said that Byla uses black cloak for nuking. I lol'd. Byla like most blm, uses the black cloak for refreshing while resting or standing around waiting for the event to begin, Once it's time to nuke, he changes to his Genie Weskit. Hardly gimp gear by any means. Oh but my bad. You’ve only ever been in a party with him once, so how could you have known? I do suggest you not post your assumptions. “Get the facts” seems to be thrown around a lot on the flameboard. Don’t you think?
Someone said something about people who travel in "packs". The QCDN Flameboard is a prime example. You think you don't. You think you're original. You make fun of people who say "get a real life" because people who are busy living one don't bother to troll the boards like yourselves and don't see this is an auto-target turn around to redirect at the person posting. Anyways... people who know Tenia and Byla love them. As it is human nature, we won't impress or find affection from everyone here. And we're okay with that lol Sometimes it's best just to cleave to those who know and love you then to defend your actions, or correct misinterpretations from idiots feed on flaming people for their own selfish gain. Nope, it is our Dynamis LS and since he felt it best to not have more potential drama during the run. since he couldn’t kick Mire (sack holder), he felt it best for the time being to have people equip this pearl. A new one would have been made prior to Wednesday. That won’t be necessary now. But perhaps this gives more insight to the full spectrum of events, and not so one sided. I fully expect to see you quote my post, make nasty responses as you always do. I wasn’t going to respond. No sense in adding fuel to the fire. But it seemed pretty one-sided information here, yes even tho there is a chat log. This shows you all of 10 minutes or so. Not all of the finer details.
