Active duty soldier. Family faces deportation.

Yeah, wikipedia is an awesome source of information. >_> Regardless, since you want to ride my ass about a very insignificant detail... I didn't associate its citizens with anything.

But the citizens make up the government here, last I checked.

However, I can't blame you for mixing it all up.

Since the government of South Carolina simply can't get their shit together, and figure out how to improve test scores, its own educational system, and its obesity rates compared to the rest of the nation, that means the state itself is a shithole and harbors nothing but fat, slovenly dumbasses.

k

I love my nation, however I can't stand our government. We have beautiful countryside, friendly people, great food (fuck what the French etc say) and plenty of other stuff I love about Britain. Our government is all based on lies, corruption and spin though and I wouldn't piss on any of our parliament if they were on fire.

Welcome to the United States.

wait a minute >.<

Alright, I'm just going to put it this way, since it seems to be a hard concept for a lot of you to understand:

When someone says the United States, Japan, Canada, or whereverthehell does something they aren't saying that the countryside, the people, or the food of that country is doing something. They're referring to what the government/military is doing.

Don't generalise please. If someone asks me "What do you think of Germany/France/USA/Canada etc" I don't just think of the fucking government or military.

I have lots of things to be annoyed about Sharpe, like our politicians thinking they're better then everyone else and should get free public transportations, just because they work in the city but don't necessarily live in the city. What about the other 100000 people that work in the city but don't live there? The politicians can actually afford the road taxes and buss passes with their 11k a month salary. They should set an example to the rest of the citizens by living like the rest =/

And I see Jamal's point, its kind of what I'm annoyed about with our politicians.

Sorry I forget that everyone on here doesn't have the British sarcasm detector.

This thread makes me lol

Ryujin until you've been in the military don't speak about it like you know what the fuck is going on, because the fact is you don't. I actually hope you leave the United States, then there's one less person I have to worry about.

Antor, wow! Could you sound any more ignorant please?

I do however ind it funny that Uzor is not even a US citizen and yet he's the one promoting some of the values the country was founded on while people from this country aren't.

The only thing i am doing is voicing my opinion. Also the wife in question was about to get her residence; but she got married so it voided the process of political asylum.

"The grass is always Greener on the other side"

I love this country i really dont want to leave but i have many members that close to me that are going through this same situation.

Now tell me your opinion on this.

A citizen of France comes to this country 7 years ago, He graduated High school and has been paying his taxes since he was 16 years old. He has two college degrees, One in Aviation Mechanic and the other in Accounting. Now the government is saying he has to leave the country in 2 years; is that right or wrong.

Okay, so the next time you're watching CNN or whatever and they say "The United States is doing [insert something here] in Iraq" you're going to think that quite possibly our french fries are invading Iraq? I'm sorry I'm not following you here, and I don't understand how or why what I'm saying isn't simple. As Tristam pointed out in his snide remark towards me, I'm a simple country boy.

Our differences more than likely aren't our definitions but our political views.

Exactly. If someone says "What do you think of Turkey?" I sure as hell don't think about the government. I think about the food, the nature, countryside etc. If someone says "What do you think about Egypt?" I think about the Pyramids, first and foremost. I don't think about their government and their CURRENT religion.

If he's failed his bid for a permanent visa/citizenship (I don't really know what you need to be allowed to permanently reside in the US) then yes it's fair.

That's because the media (read: the news) isn't a tour guide.

I don't understand how or why what I'm saying isn't simple.

That could be because you refuse to think that other people might have different ways to view nations. If you want to go and decide your opinion on a country by the governments actions then you are welcome to. However most people will argue that you're being extremely narrow minded.

As Tristam pointed out in his snide remark towards me, I'm a simple country boy.

I never made a snide remark about you, Antor. I said that by your reasoning, since the government of the state of SC (mind you, the state I myself have lived in for over 2/3 my life) is a bunch of fuckups, then the state itself, comprised of its people, must be a bunch of fuckups as well.

Thanks for trying to put an insult where no insult was given.

Alright, I know I'm going off on a great limb here, but isn't the source of this topic... uh... CNN? Do tell me I'm wrong. Did Ryu not say the country was crappy? I'm pretty sure he did in his second post. So he thinks the country is crappy and has beef with the government.

Tell me why he should stay around. Is it because he likes our pizza and has a couple of friends? Last I checked I haven't met anyone so far in the topic yet I'm still able to interact with everyone, and there's surely other countries that offer great tasting food. He has three real choices: 1) shut up and put up with it, 2) move somewhere he likes, or 3) do something about the situation (making a topic on QCDN about it isn't going to make your representative aware of the situation).

Your intentions may not have been an insult but I surely saw it that way. I apologize for seeing it that way, but yeah, I definitely felt insulted by it.

In cases like this, it's entirely up to speculation as far as an individual's stance on the matter. This is pretty grey, in all honesty.

The biggest thing I see in this story, is that the woman had a chance to apply for legality in the US, but got married and therefore made it void. If you move here when you are young, that's fine, because it's mainly guided by a parental influence. However, if that same parent does not take the time and effort involved in becoming a legal citizen of the United States, then yes, they deserve to be deported.

PO2 doesn't defend his case well. In all honesty, he's probably another one of those guys that joined just to have a job. Country? Fuck that, he wants to earn a paycheck. Having his family deported is something that is swaying his opinion of the military and government in general, and there's a very simple reason for it:

"I screwed my wife over from becoming lega, and now I have to take responsibility for it."

Honestly, where's the story here? She was granted an extension until next year in June. That means she has 6 months to complete a 4 month process and become legal so that her husband can focus on his job, and stop worrying about coming home to an empty nest. Ffs, there are regulations on immigrants for a reason. Young or not, it takes some effort and requires dedication to becoming legal; or get out of our borders.

- Do your part. Vote, organize peaceful assemblies, and voice your opinion. Shit, write your Florida Congressmen.
- Shut the hell up, stop whining, and sign the checks every year until you die. If you don't do your part in this country, you have no right to bitch, although you have been granted it by our "evil government".
- Get the hell out. Get thee to France, or Britain, or Canada, or any other of the nations in the world.

It could have been that she DID apply for citizenship but it never got processed. It took my uncle several years to get citizenship in the US from England, even though there wasn't anything that should have caused delays.
