Regardless of who is the admin, if that person rubs the wrong group the wrong way, they will have to deal with the same redundant posts that Sculli gets every day. The mob mentality at this board amazes me. What some of you fail to realize is that you enjoy QCDN, whether you want to admit it or not. Look at QCNN.....how many members does it have? Alot fewer than the people who created it thought it would.

Sculli doesn't owe us anything because we are not paying members for a service. Our access is free so if Sculli decides to hand this site over to circus midgets that would be up to him. He doesn't owe you an explanation, he doesn't have to get your permission, he doesn't have to respond to your repeated posts questioning every breath he takes.

For some reason "if you don't like it, leave" doesn't seem to work at this forum. We have a "if you don't like it whine, complain, and bitch" slogan.

What makes me laugh is that... "blah blah blah mob mentality" garbage people keep talking about. Stop the presses! It is possible that two or more human beings can agree with each other. Novel idea on these forums I know, but it is possible. To write off the opinions expressed by multiple others as mob-mentality, just because it doesn't jive with your own, is ridiculous and people need to stop insulting everyone by saying that junk. I have a mind of my own, thank you, and while I may agree with someone, that hardly means I am falling into some mass mentality.

No, Sculli doesn't owe us anything. He's paid for this place with money out of his own pocket and invested a lot of time and effort here. The bottom line is, you can't run a "community" board and expect that everyone is going to be happy with every decision you make. Not everyone in a community is going to agree. Thing is, Sculli did what he wanted to with the forums as he has every right to. And just as he has the right to make rules and change direction, the people that frequently come to his forum and are a part of the community have a right to their reactions...good, bad or indifferent. While I personally don't agree with some of the things that have gone on and some of the stances that have been taken, I respect that I'm not paying the bills and while some things irritate me, this overall is a very helpful site. If it wasn't, people wouldn't come here even to waste their breath on bitching. I also think that no matter whether you agree with or disagree with Sculli and the changes he's made over time, you have to give credit where credit is due. It is very easy to sit there and point fingers from the outside and puff out your chest and say... pfft I could do it better. Sculli kept this board running for this community. Whether he still plays or not is irrelevant, whether he pissed people off or coddled certain people is too. We are able to come here because of his time and interest and regardless of what you think of his policy (and by you I mean the community), you need to be grateful that you have a resource like this to come to. No matter what, he deserves at least that measure of gratitude from everyone here.

Bottom line is, Sculli's moving on. I can't say that I'd blame him, as he puts up with a lot of shit... some earned, in my opinion, but also some not. If I did as much as he's done for this place and got the kind of response he's been getting from some who disagree with the way he runs things, I'd probably say fuck it too. Good luck with w/e you're moving on to Sculli. Thank you for building a helpful and thought-provoking community, flaws and all.

This change is going to happen, so I hope everyone embraces it and helps it along instead of fighting it... So Reeve, or John, whichever you prefer... Welcome. Hope you've got an open mind and a good sense of humor. You're gonna need it.

Welcome

If you hated Sculli's actions so badly, why the hell would you still come to the board? I personally am for the most part indifferent to the admin change...yeah, I was used to the way Sculli ran things, but he had enough good intention that I can trust him with the change of hands so I don't think this'd amount to being some sortof problem.

Now we just gotta wait and pray QCDN just doesn't turn into a site that's Mithra Pimpin' Madness (tm), or something.

I don't usually get involved with the aggrivating politics of this site. I don't know Sculli, and I never really went to the FB, so I didn't miss it.

I don't know why you guys care about the new admin not playing FFXI. As far as I'm concerned, the admin's job is to make sure we have a site to go, and to make sure there aren't any major problems. Apparently this guy is good at that, so I don't see a problem.

We run the site. We make the posts. We start the fights. And sometimes, we even get along. We don't need the admin to be a FFXI expert, because that's our job.

The biggest change I see is when people make posts complaining about everything, they will have to type 'Reeve' instead of 'Sculli.'
