AH Bots?!.

Anyone buy silk thread, beetle jaws, mythri beastcoins, gold beastcoins or maybe another type of stackable item notice the two people buying up all the item listed here(maybe more)? They keep buying them at cut rate prices in fact as low as others place them on AH. I noticed Lunarnaut and Danbel buying all these items 24/7 on AH. They never leave and you can see them on whenever the server is up buying all the items at cheap prices only. Today I went to Bastok on my mule and I found Danbal (not same name) selling the gold coins for atleast 30k more on Ah in stacked form. They are profiting and I am betting they are bots for gil-sellers.

I need some of these items currently for synthing and having a bot there to buy these items at low prices and cutting me off in Jeuno pisses me off. Its sometimes cheaper to buy them singly than in stacks and when you are talking about 15k gold coins, it adds up fast. 4 stacks of coins barely gets you 1 lvl in GS and costs around 800k. You can make it back when you sell the ingots, but think about all the failures >.>

I want to get rid of them and inform the GM but I doubt they'd do anything. Anyone got a suggestion to help me out? I'm becoming broke fast and being able to buy cheaper synth items would make my life easier and maybe some others too.

If this is a kind of bot it certainly is a very cleaver idea for a constant income. As we know(or at least how it appers) GM's dont have any way to find out if you have 3rd person party programs(or bots or anything) unless you talk about them. But if you report them they may keep an eye on them and maybe be able to do something, but then again maybe not. We all know the GMs are not exactly very effeciant in what they do. Afterall, GMs are humans too and just like other humans they are lazy and dont really give a shit about the people their job is made to take care of(not all people are like this but alot mof people seem to be lazy and cut corners if they can when they work). But you might get a GM who does care. Its always worth a shot to contact the GMs but I wouldent get my hopes up. Just tell them what you said here about noticing what they are doing.

Asuyu, Danbel is a confirmed AH botter. He is alwasy up in Upper Jeuno, and I timed his NPC interaction (npc always ends up facing danbel at exactly 15-17 seconds)


I have had him reported about 2-3 times and have had friends report him to the Gm as well.

After that the Gm's seem to stop him because he disappeared for a few days.

However is is back and botting again. I recommend you report him as well as have your LS report him, sooner or later when the reports add up I'm hoping the GMs will do somethign about it permanently.

If he's already been caught and warned, the GM is probably more likely to investigate further reports. These people ruin it for the rest of us, hope they get banned for disrupting everyone else.

Yeah, so when I message the GM help desk they sent me an auto-reply message that I had to access from the help desk menu. It basically said do not send any further messages regarding these people we will investigate further. Screw that shit!

Darkdante, no offense.... But you are an idiot. If he buys every 15 seconds everything at a cheaper price noone has a choice but to buy the higher prices. That is all that is left. He drives up the prices because he has all the items to sell now, he is a gil seller and that is what they do. If he bought every item on AH for 12k faster than people place them on AH he has the ability to control AH prices. Now he can turn around and sell his item he bought for 12k for 15k or up it even more.

Not only does he drive up prices but people see that gold beasctoins are selling like hot cakes so they place them on AH for 18-20k to make more gil, he only buys them for 14 or lower so the only coins left for people to buy are expensive ones. And when you need to synth and thats all you have you cannot just go out and farm coins. Its takes 4 stacks to maybe go up a lvl, with steal that could take 4 hours if it works everytime, and its more of a 1/6 chance you will be able to steal coins even with AF. So it may take 24 hours straight to get enough coisn to lvl synth 1 lvl.

I have no problem with people playing the AH, but using a bot to do so, that I do have a problem with. It's like every other situation where a bot is used, makes it unfair for the rest of the population. How is someone suppose to buy something that a bot bids on every 15 seconds, 24/7?

Right now the exemple was given with gold beastcoins. Although it affect someone leveling Goldsmithing, it does'nt not really have a huge impact on the rest of us. But what if they start botting Nebimonite and jacking the price.... I bet some of you would now start complaining about the price of Shihei (nebimonite-> Black ink -> Shihei). Or how about the shihei itself? Or any other consummable?

Totally missed it. This tread is not about where to get cheaper material or how to shop, it's about some people using a third party program to get an unfair advantage. So we should all stop selling/ buying from AH?

I understand you don't see the use of bots for AH shopping to be an issue now but we all know things get exploited. Right now there are probably a very insignificant number of them (like the first bots for fishing) but before you know it, Jeuno's AH will be crammed with bots.

that a nice theory to solve it, but there a flaw. now lets just say that every person on the server decide to say ok we wont buy any gold coins or lvling gold smithing. so now all of your gold smithing produced items (IE: jewlery, bars) whould now sky rocket in price because there is a shortage. supply and demand
there is really not much you can do except report and hope he get kicked.

though then agian the prices on gold smithing items are most likely rising do to having to buying gold coins for higher price
