Aion- discuss

Bots are currently plaguing the game, but NCSoft is working on that. Still some bugs out there and Sorc is the op class currently. Still some kinks with flying (mainly people realizing that hey, you can't fly forever surprise!). Mainly issues that all MMOs experience and tweak as the game ages. All that said, its still an amazing game. I've been following for awhile and I've been looking for a sequel good enough to fit FFXI's place. I'm guessing the release date in late March for US.

Anyone who's been looking into this game should have known well-before the actual Korean release that there was going to be a time limit on flying. From what I've read and seen, the flight timer recharges fairly fast too.

Yeah, people expected too much from the flight mechanism. Epic mass-PVP aerial battles lol. The wings are definitely cool looking, but I never expected much more personally.

Been watching this one for awhile now. My Aion Legion has been on the Korean Beta and give us a ton of Screen Shots and answers to questions each week on this. I really like how they made both sides, good and evil, look great. The support jobs look fantastic too. On a recent in poll on AionSource it looks like two of the more popular jobs are going to be suprisingly, the Chanter (Bard) and the Cleric (Healer). I personally have been looking at these two along with the Spiritmaster. Biggest complaints though are coming from MDPS. After playing WAR as a MDPS, the most underpopulated class, White Lion, I can understand how fustrating it is to be killed over and over again by RDPS you can't reach before you die.

We will see what happens. I am looking to pick this up when it is released.

Is it going to be freeplay like Guild Wars? That's really the only question I've had concerning it, and never bothered checking into it.

I'd imagine this being a lot like L2 where you have to p2p.

Didn't realize others had commented on this thread since I last read it, otherwise I would have replied. D:

The answer is that Aion is going to be P2P though.

As I was browsing AS today I found this unfortunate gem of info:

http://www.aionsource.com/forum/new...essage-aion-release-q4-2009-a.html#post282397

Not sure if I want to wait until Q4 to *start* playing this game.

Ouch.. I know a lot of people from that site who aren't going to like that one bit.

I still need to get a better pc in order to play it anyway. So I probably wouldn't be starting this game until late this year/sometime next year at the earliest. That, and I'd kind of rather them have everything polished for when it's released in NA/EU.

I found out that currently, the South Koreans pay-to-play on this.

I probably won't get it, as I've sworn off the subscription-service-style MMOs :-|

I kind of doubt that I'll play this game (at least at first). As I've posted in different threads on AS, I'm tired of being treated like a second rate customer. That and waiting until Q4 is not something I feel like doing. I've been waiting for Aion since early 07 and planned to wait until summer of 09 at the latest. I've delayed starting another MMO in lieu playing Aion, but now I suppose its time to find a new one lol.

Little revive here....

They've started taking pre-orders at my Eb games, and I spoke to Kotsu earlier today and he has also been able to pre-order. So if you're looking forward to this then go ahead and pre-order it ^^

yeah, I asked mine about that, there special stuff hadn't arrived yet...I said I'd check in every now and then....

so close to my new PC too so I can't wait for this, it's going to be awesome...although I think right now it's only me and Kotsu...

I have no idea what im going to do about a 'new' computer. I'm worried my current pc wont be able to handle Aion and buying a new one or even new parts for my current pc is kind of not going to happen any time soon.

Even so, I think I'm still gonna go out and pre-order the collectors edition. I already know this game is going to look amazing.. just not on my computer.

Oh, has it been confirmed that its p2p? And possibly how much monthly?

Confirmed p2p, not sure how much though.

From what I've read, it's going to be $14.99/mo USD.

Templars (Aion's definitive Tank class - can't cure themselves but have sick HP - Def - HP Regen) are so f'n badass looking: (forgive me for the large images)

Ecks - Apparently this game was built on the Crytek Engine (not the Crysis iteration) so Moderately powered machines can handle this game with ease (decent resolution). Even with the recommended system specs, you could probably acquire / build a machine that surpasses that easily for under 600 bucks. Shoot.. I built a built a Core i7 920 / HIS HD4850 TurboX rig under a grand including OS (Vista X64 Home Premium).

I played the English patched Chinese Open Beta. Core 2 duo 3Ghz, 4(3.25)GB RAM, Radeon HD4850 512MB. All overkill. Ran the game at the highest settings no problem, even in the crowded main post-newbie area city. This machine cost me about $650 back in September.
